Libya Attacked - Why Not Iran?

The left is so inconsistent and dangerous. What is their premise? Why Libya? Of all the madmen in all the world, why Gaddafi and not Ahmadinejad? Gaddafi gave up his weapons of mass destruction program. Ahmadinejad is pursuing catastrophic nuclear weapons fiercely.

Obama said "Our consensus was strong, and our resolve is clear. The people of Libya must be protected."

What about the people of Iran?

Is Hamas Trying to Stop Missile Attacks?

GANSO reports that Hamas police did discover and stop one rocket attack, on February 10th, from central Gaza. None of the recent rocket attacks have been claimed by Hamas.

One interesting incident mentioned in that same report occurred last month, when a test rocket was fired out to sea on February 8th. It is unclear if that was Hamas or another group. But it is possible that they were testing out a newer Grad rocket, as the rocket that hit Beersheba might have been a new rocket that was manufactured in China.

Is it plausible that the smaller Salafist groups or Islamic Jihad are importing longer-range Grads? Even if so, Hamas is certainly aware of it.

Israeli Missile Flames Iranian Tank

by Chuck Wolk
What you are about to watch is an actual event. The video was filmed by the Israeli military. It is a fully armored Syrian tank being hit by an Israeli laser-guided, steel-penetrating, phosphorous-filled "hand held" rocket. The rocket is small, very portable and is a tightly controlled weapon; each one is accounted for when they are checked out and back in. There must be no fewer than two soldiers present to verify the use of these rockets, and one witness must be a senior officer with a minimum of 10 years military service. The program and names of those involved are kept secret for obvious reason.

The Syrian tank was headed for one of Israel's settlements. There were four more tanks one mile to the rear of this tank. It would seem that after this one was destroyed, the others decided to scram. You can hear the ammunition inside the tank going off after the initial strike. As would be expected, all crew members were sent to Allah.

This event did not make the news, but it is an everyday event for Israeli forces. Unlike us, Israel does not allow for embed reporters or film crews not associated with the military.

Israel does this for their survival, not for the entertainment of the 24/7 cable news networks.

Cell Phone Reports of Missile Attacks Coming in June

I know, I know, this is what you've always wanted: missile alerts on your cell phone.

Israel Defense Forces will announce Monday an NIS 27 million investment in a new cellular system that will alert citizens in case of a missile attack.

The cellular application, developed by Israeli high-tech company eViglio, in cooperation with Ericsson, is expected to be activated June 2011.

The project commenced following the Second Lebanon War and operation Cast Lead, during which Israel's home front was attacked by missiles, prompting the need for a national missile alert system.

eViglio won the bid to develop the system, which is part of effort made by IDF's Home Front Command to integrate all emergency alerts in Israel into one centralized system. eViglio's system allows alerts to be sent to cell phones, television and radio stations, web sites and billboards.

With the new system, alerts will be sent to different geographic regions according to the relevant threat. Home Front Command will be able to select a specific area and send a pre-programmed or free text message with the appropriate procedures for the home front.

The system enables sending alerts in several languages simultaneously (Hebrew, English, Russian, Arabic and Amharic), and can also be used to notify citizens in cases of natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes.

I wish we didn't need it, but if we need it, we may as well have it.
