Takeover and Rout of 911 Memorial and Museum

Who is undermining and signing off on this ugliness? The NY Post has this.

9/11 museum bigs cash in

Kids' small donations pay for inflated salaries

Schoolchildren thought their penny jars and bake-sale proceeds would go toward building a 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero -- not the six-figure salaries of nonprofit execs.

But 11 staffers at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum each pulled down more than $170,000 in total compensation in 2009, according to the most recent filings. Four execs took home more than $320,000.

Foundation President Joseph Daniels, 38, pocketed $371,307 after receiving hefty raises three years in a row -- 28 percent in 2006, when he was promoted from acting president, followed by 12 percent and 6 percent.

St Nicholas Church Must Sue to Rebuild

Photo provided by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, Archbishop Demetrios, right, leads a vigil on the eve of the Feast Day of St. Nicholas to pray for the rebuilding of St. Nicholas Church (NY Daily News)

While Mayor Bloomberg wets himself in anxious haste to build the offensive Ground Zero mosque, the iconic St. Nicholas Greek Church, built in 1916 and destroyed by the destruction of the World Trade towers by Muslim terrorists, remains vanquished, unable to rebuild. Bloomberg is lobbying for 911 taxpayer funds for Islamic supremacist grifters behind the Ground Zero mosque, but the St. Nicholas church is in purgatory, ten years after the worst day in modern American history.

Developer "Won't Budge" from Ground Zero Site

“New York is the capital of the world, and this location close to 9/11 is iconic.” Imam Faisal

Indeed. The above is a quote from Ground Zero mosque Imam Faisal.

"The story is repeated around the globe, the story of Muslim denial, self-pity, and demands for extraordinary sensitivity from others even whilst trampling on every sensitivity of absolutely everyone else." Douglas Murray

That building isn't near Ground Zero. it is Ground Zero. It was hit and partially destroyed in the 911 attacks. This is deliberately provocative. Mecca on the Hudson.

NY1 Reporting:

With a debate raging from coast to coast over whether an Islamic community center and mosque should be built near the World Trade Center site, NY1’s Political reporter Grace Rauh sat down for an exclusive interview with the developer to talk about the future of the project.

Sharif El-Gamal is the developer behind the plan to erect an Islamic community center and mosque two blocks from the World Trade Center site.

Calls are mounting for him and the other backers to find a new home for their center, further away from the site of the September 11th terrorist attacks, but El-Gamal isn't budging.

He is sticking with his plans to erect a 13-story center and prayer space in Lower Manhattan. He likens the project to a YMCA or Jewish Community Center, with programs open to all residents of all faiths.

"A landmark, an iconic building that will have people come and visit it from around the world,” said El-Gamal as to what he imagines. “This looks like it is going to be the most famous community center in the world."

[...]

He insists, however, that he is not open to moving the center.

Geert Wilders to Speak at SIOA 911 Protest vs Ground Zero Mosque

Geert Wilders to Speak at SIOA 911 Protest Against the Ground Zero Mega Mosque

The honorable Dutch MP Geert Wilders has accepted our invitation to speak at the 911 demonstration opposing the mega mosque at Ground Zero. We owe him a debt of gratitude (Wilders came in third in the recent Dutch elections) for exposing the Dutch government's donation of $1,290,000 to Imam Rauf's "Cordoba initiative" -- first reported at Atlas here.

Geert Wilders demanded an explanation from House of Parliament on why the Dutch Government would fund the Ground Zero Islamic supremacist mosque.
eert Wilders will be speaking in New York on September 11 at a protest demonstration against the building of a mega mosque near Ground Zero.

By accepting this invitation, Geert Wilders expresses his support for the people opposing the building of a mosque near the place where Islam committed the worse atrocity of the past decade. The attack on the WTC towers on 9/11, 2001, was an attack on the entire Western civilization.

Corruption Surrounds Building Mega Mosque on 911 Site

The Fix Was In: Community Board Unanimously Denies Landmark Status to Ground Zero Mega Mosque Site

New York politicians are bending over backwards, violating protocol, to build a mega mosque at Ground Zero. In warped speed they are ramming it through, removing every obstacle to expedite the process and erect a triumphal mosque at Ground Zero in time for it to meet its stated opening date, the tenth anniversary of September 11th. Why? Would they do this for a church? A synagogue? This is an outrage .............

Last night, on less than a week and a half's notice (at a time when most people who care are not even around), the Lower Manhattan Community Board 1 (“LMCB”) Landmark Commission (“LMCBLC”) held its meeting to consider the landmark status of 45-47 Park Place (the site of the proposed 911 mega mosque). Refusing to wait until the entire board could meet, seven board members voted unanimously to deny landmark status to the Burlington Coat Factory building, removing another obstacle to Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's supremacist, triumphal mosque.

One journalist noted that the "CB1 Landmarks committee, which is a stickler for details when someone wants to install new windows or awnings, voted to recommend to the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission that landmark status not be given to the two antique buildings on Park Place that the owner wants to tear down to build the mega-mosque at Ground Zero."

The historical significance of the property is clear: it was designed by the famous architect Daniel D. Badger. A number of his buildings have already been given landmark status. The New York Times obituary (19 Nov. 1884, p. 2) for Daniel D. Badger (1806-1884), read in part, "Daniel D. Badger, the pioneer of this country in the use of iron for building purposes" ....... Further, the building was the headquarters of Merck &Company from 1911 to 1925.

More importantly, his building has special historical significance because of 911. It was part of the attack. The landing gear of one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center towers flew out to the Burlington Coat Factory building, and fell through the roof to the basement. The fact that the committee ignores that fact is outrageous, and disrespects the victims of 911.

The LMCBLC unanimously (with one recusal) voted to recommend to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (“LPC”) that landmark status be denied. Yes, this ugly decision was unanimous. The one recusal came from a board member who admitted to being in bed with the owner (future financial gains implied). This was the same tool who during last month's community board meeting was shilling for the mosque. Apparently, one of the owners of the property approached him and subsequently corresponded with him. He said he was recusing himself because although there was no “immediate” financial benefit to him, he thought it appropriate given potential conflicts of interest. The same member of the LMCBLC made reference to Kristallnacht, implying that opponents of the mosque are Nazis. Outrageous, I tell you.

The basis for the decision was that the LPC had not recommended landmark status for other architecturally and aesthetically significant buildings in the neighborhood -- which is patently untrue.
