I just got back. I had TIVO'ed Diane Sawyer and ABC 's crack team's report on Islam. Forgive me for suggesting you watch it. What crap. Dangerous garbage. I hope America sees through this proselytizing for Islam. I am a half hour into this surrender stupidity and I wish to offer my apology for even posting about it. Sawyer spent the first half hour completely whitewashing Islam and advancing a fallacious Islamic supremacist narrative, da'wah. She got nothing right on Islam. Nothing.
This is da'wah -- invitation to Islam. Sawyer and co. have tossed concretes and history out the window to surrender to the Islamic supremacist narrative. Ugh.
ABC taped close to three hours of interviews with me (more with travel, etc.) and they broadcast none of it.A deliberate waste of five hours of my precious time. Yes, Islam is better to women than the West. Yes, there is no jihad, the millions of victims slaughtered are an incidental (but not mentionable) historical footnote. Where was Wafa Sultan, Ibn Warraq, Robert Spencer, Bat Ye'or?
Shut off your TVs. Reject your surrender by proxy.
UPDATE: Write ABC. The only lucid and accurate moments in this piece of propaganda came from the great Americans who video-ed their questions in. They get it.
UPDATE: I think I used the wrong word in the headline. It was more horrible than ridiculous. I am not going to exhaust myself fisking the misrepresentation of Christianity, Judaism, the subjugation of women, and on and on.....
No accident this. It was designed to whitewash Islam as any danger. As in, why are we fighting?
I have been covering the media's incompetence and misinformation on Islam for years, but this was jaw-dropping. It was far worse than anything I could ever imagine; it was a total whitewash, a white-out.
Kids playing football, a drowned girl uniting a community, progressive girls in Egypt who speak American street slang. Well, at least it draws the battle lines clearly. It is beyond hope that the left/liberals will ever look at Islam as a threat -- not up until the knives are at their throats. Ten years, and they are as steadfastly ignorant and married to their multiculturalism as they ever were.
They can neveer change. No, it is hopeless futility to believe that the media/left will examine this, or that they will abandon their dogma, or that they will follow any path except that of "changing course: towards an US Muslim engagement.

Texas School Vote on Islam Supremacists
This is a vote that should be taken intowns across America. The whitewashing of Islam in history books and in Middle Eastern studies programs across college campuses in this country is part of the toxic leftist/Islamic propanganda campaign that our children's minds are marinating in.
Texas Board of Education to Vote on Pro-Islamic Bias in Textbooks Pundit Press
This coming Friday the Texas State Board of Education will be taking a vote on textbooks. This will have nothing to do with important dates or grammar, but something that something potentially insidious: brainwashing of students.
Critics of new textbooks have called on the BoE to investigate and vote on several passages in new textbooks that they believe have a "pro-Islamic bias." According to Republican member of the Texas Board of Education Don McLeroy, the only reason why Islam is getting a favorable writing is because "Academia wants to lean over backwards to be politically correct and not be labeled ethnocentric, so it's kind of a cultural relativism."
McLeroy and other critics of the textbooks cite the fact that Islamic beliefs and rituals are discussed more than twice as long as Christian beliefs, 248 lines to 120. They are also upset with "politically-correct whitewashes of Islamic culture and stigmas on Christian civilization" as well as "sanitized definitions of 'jihad' that exclude religious intolerance or military aggression against non-Muslims."
Possibly most damning is one textbook that McLeroy cited, a 2003 textbook entitled "World Civilizations." In its table of contents, Christianity and Judaism are not listed what-so-ever. Islam, however, is mentioned multiple times.
Barbara Cargill, another member of the Board of Education, stated that the vote against Islamic bias is "not meant to be divisive; it's actually meant to ensure equality and fairness and is not favoring Christianity over any religion."
Not everyone is in favor of changing textbooks, however. Reverend Bobbi Kaye Jones, a prominent member of the Austin District of the United Methodist Church, stated, "As leaders from faith communities across Texas, we urge the state board to reject this misleading and inflammatory resolution." He believes that the textbooks are fine the way they are.
Because Texas is one of the biggest buyers of American textbooks, much of what students will learn across the country depends on this vote. It is being held on Friday.

Imaginary Islam

If only the fantasy were true: If only there actually were a dominant, pro-American, echt moderate Islam, an ideology so dedicated to human rights, so sternly set against savagery, that acts of terrorism were, by definition, “un-Islamic activity.” Imagine an Islam that, far from a liability, proved an asset (indeed, an indispensable asset) in combating the threat against us. Imagine that we could accurately call the threat mere “extremism” — no “Islamic” (or even “Islamist”) modifier being necessary because the “extremists” truly were a tiny, aberrant band, fraudulently “hijacking” a great religion.
If the fantasy were true, who among us would not be proud to mark the annual observance of September 11 by breaking ground on a $100 million Islamic center cum mosque at the site of the most horrific attack in American history? In the nine years since the atrocities that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pa., such an Islam — if it really existed — would have spearheaded the defeat of America’s enemies.
Such an Islam, over nine long years, would have risen up and made itself heard. It would have identified by name and condemned with moral outrage the imposters purporting to act in its name. It would have honored America’s sacrifice of blood and treasure in the liberation of oppressed Muslim peoples. It would have said “thank you” to our troops. It would have joined America, without ambiguity or hesitation, in crushing terror networks and dismantling the regimes that abet them. It would not have needed trillion-dollar American investments to forge democracies; it would naturally have adopted democracy on its own.
What excruciating truths have we yet failed to grasp on this ninth anniversary of 9/11? The first is that such an Islam does not exist. The second is that, despite this fact, American foreign and domestic policy continues to proceed as though it does exist — and as though it were the only real Islam. That is, nine years after Islamists made their commitment to our destruction as unmistakable as possible, nine years after the non-occurrence of all the wonderful things that would certainly have happened if the Islam of our dreams were the Islam of our reality, our national-security strategy is still steeped in fiction.
