The only thing sicker and deadlier than this Islamic fervor is our response to such savagery -- We seek to impose the sharia and call for restrictions on the freedom of expression, instead of restricting and banning jihad and the ideology that inspires killing, gender apartheid, ethnic cleansing, etc., in the name of whomever or whatever.
Pakistan: Police break up Muslim rally threatening to burn church over rumors of Qur'an-burning Jihad Watch
And the Western response to this madness is to call for restrictions on the freedom of expression, instead of calling these people out for their violent irrationality. "Police break up Muslim rally threatening to burn church in eastern Pakistan, say officials," from The Associated Press, April 30:
LAHORE, Pakistan — Officials say police have broken up an angry mob threatening to burn a church after the alleged burning of a Qur’an in eastern Pakistan.
Saeed Wahla, administrator of Gujranwala city, said the police on Saturday charged 300 protesters that were marching toward a church, infuriated over rumours that Qurans had been burned by Christians.
Nabil Awan, another local official, said a burned copy of Qur’an was found Saturday, while two weeks earler a couple burned pages from the holy book had turned up....

Afghan Protesters Behead 2 UN Workers Kill 8
An Afghan mob infuriated by a Florida pastor's burning of a Koran last month stormed United Nations offices and killed at least 10 workers, beheading two of them. After noon prayers, hundreds of demonstrators poured out of mosques and headed to the U.N. headquarters in the northern Afghanistan city of Mazar-i-Sharif. After disarming the guards, they entered the compound, where they shot and killed eight workers and captured and beheaded two others. A police spokesman said 15 people have been arrested so far in connection with the attack. Tolo TV news in Kabul reported that the head of the U.N. mission in the city was among those killed, but that hasn't been confirmed. The crowd was angry over Florida pastor Terry Jones' burning of a Koran on March 20. Jones had garnered international attention for threatening to burn a Koran last September 11, then promised not to, but then went ahead and burned a copy last month.

Here Come the Quran Riots
Parts of the Muslim world are upset over Terry Jones' buring of a Quran last Sunday. So guess who they blame?
From The International, Pakistan:
The Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam announced on Thursday a province-wide protest on Friday (today) against the desecration of the Holy Quran in Florida by a US pastor.
Hundreds of demonstrators of the Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan and of the Jamaat Ahle Sunnat blocked the road off the KPC and burnt the effigy of the pastor and a US flag.
JUP activists, led by their leader, Qazi Ahmed Noorani, held banners inscribed with anti-US slogans and demanding death sentence to Jones.
Noorani, speaking on the occasion, said that the Zionist forces had hatched a conspiracy against Muslims to incite their religious feelings. He said that Islam never allowed harming of sentiments of people from other religions, but Jones and people like him had always hurt the sentiments of Muslims.
Another version of the story from Pakistan:
Condemning the sacrilegious burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by devilish American pastor Terry Jones, Jamaat-ud-Dawa ameer Hafiz Muhammad Saeed on Monday called it a conspiracy of the zionists and the crusaders working in collusion to disrupt peace and order in the world.
Separately, addressing a Jihad Conference in Jamia Masjid, Qadisiya Town, the Dawa chief said America, India and Israel are scared of Jihad. The Muslim must understand that Jihad is the key to their survival.
Oh, and here's how some Muslims in the area are reacting:
Tension continues to spread in eastern Punjab province where police struggled to control a mob attempting to raid a Full Gospel Assembly church in Lahore.
Two separate mobs headed to the Christian slum on March 22 after different mosques announced that the “church members deliberately burnt the Qur’an transcript in garbage on a US pattern.”
Most of the 250 Christian families in the slum have sent their daughters to relatives for fear of further violence.
Well, it's Friday, and that holy day of prayer is usually the day that we see the most violence. Funny, that.

9/11 Remembrance Rally is not Political
The AP is reporting that "9/11 politicized by mosque, Quran controversies." This story was brought to you by the fiction writers in the mainstream media.
First, ours is not a political rally. We are coming to pay our respects to those beloved Americans lost on 911 and to stand against the Islamic supremacist mosque. The left protests in their ugly fashion at Ground Zero every year. Every year the left hold political rallies of the ugliest stripe. And there has never been so much as one drop of ink written about it. But if patriots intend to gather, the media is in full spin mode.
Secondly, the media created the qu'ran story. The media created the firestorm. The Ground Zero mosque story, on the other hand, came largely to the fore outside the mainstream media. The people drove that story and forced the media to cover it and the politicians to take a stand. The mosque is the people's story. The provocative act of Pastor Jones and his tiny congregation was made a national story by the national media to incite the rhetoric and conflate the Ground Zero mega mosque opposition with incendiary book burning. As I have said, the burning of books is wrong in principle: the antidote to bad speech is not censorship or book-burning, but more speech. Open discussion. Give-and-take. And the truth will out. There is no justification for burning books. If Americans are free and not under Sharia, then the church can do this if it wants, and their freedom and rights should be protected. Islamic supremacists should not be allowed a victory for their violent intimidation -- if these people want to burn a book, they're free to do so. More of my position of the qu'ran burning here.
The opposition to mega mosque on Ground Zero has nothing to do with this although it bears noting that the radical Pastor canceled it, the radical imam did not. Imam Bridge builder building one way bridges.
