Israel ARRESTS 2 Brit Consulate Wkers in J-m BOMB Plot

Israel says it has charged two workers at the British Consulate in Jerusalem with arms trafficking, in connection to an alleged plot by militants to fire a rocket into a football stadium.

Israel's Shin Bet intelligence agency is accusing the two Palestinians of helping two other suspects who are allegedly members of Hamas to acquire guns.

The four are being linked with an alleged conspiracy to launch a rocket attack on Jerusalem's Teddy Stadium.

Britain's Foreign Office has confirmed the arrests and says the UK is urgently seeking confirmation of the charges.

"We have been told by the Israeli authorities that the investigation into our two employees is unrelated to the work they do at the consulate," the spokesman said.

British sources in Israel say the pair are not thought to be senior members of staff. All staff at British embassies and consulates abroad are meant to undergo strict security screening.

Police say the device was found in a small microwave oven on the sidewalk after the leaders had finished the course Sunday morning. Several blocks were cordoned off near the original finish line for the marathon and half-marathon.

The bomb squad used a robot to disable the device. The all-clear was given for the area shortly before 11 a.m. About 5,000 people took part in the full marathon.

The disruption comes a day after a car-bomb scare in New York emptied Times Square.

My guess is the bombers were Americans. Their Hebrew was heavily accented and they had different facial expressions from Israelis. Further, no native would ever talk about such a mission planned or completed.
Jews rarely murder anyone or any other living thing. You can't buy a fly swatter in all of Israel, for example. It is forbidden to prune a living plant or a shrub.
Israelis have many faults, but I have never met an outsider who was aware of a single one.
