Atlas Folks Forced Take Down of Onerous Ads

Atlas readers, writers, and callers -- you are the bomb.

As you know, I have been excoriating Clear Channel for their cowardly cave-in to Jew-haters, for running their hateful ad while refusing our pro-Israel ads. I wrote on it extensively in our press release here and also here.

Geller, however, pointed out in a statement that the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign's ads clearly constitute an incitement to violence against Jews. How is cutting military aid to Israel not an incitement to violence against them? With no aid and no military, Israel cannot defend itself, and is vulnerable to attack by its Muslim neighbors. It is also an incitement in the sense that the ad is a direct attempt to break a bond of friendship between the Israel and the United States, and that also renders Israel to attack."

Well, today, Clear Channel cancelled the Jew-hating campaign and will be taking the billboards down. And while I would have preferred to see our magnificent ads up, this is an excellent second best.

Thank you, freedom lovers. I stand in awe.

Boycotts,Divestment and Sanction Versus Israel

Palestine solidarity activists are organizing a day of action today, 10 December, to encourage "people of conscience" to join the more than 18,000 who have already signed a US-wide petition urging financial holdings corporation TIAA-CREF to disinvest from construction vehicle manufacturer Caterpillar Incorporated.

According to campaign coordinating group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), TIAA-CREF has invested more than $250 million in Caterpillar, which the group says is "complicit" in Israel's violations of US and international law ("December 10: TIAA-CREF day of action).

Yes, your basic nightmare.

This day of action is just part of JVP's ongoing campaign to target TIAA-CREF. In July, activists attended the shareholder meeting and presented an "overwhelming" amount of signatures they had gathered in support of TIAA-CREF's divestment from companies that profit from Israeli occupation policies.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian-led movement of boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israeli human rights violations and apartheid policies continues to gather steam elsewhere around the world.

Israeli War Crimes?

War crimes? I think not. Israel is constantly in a state of protecting itself from hostile neighbors. So, what did Pamela do? She decided to put up her own ads to counter the rhetoric.

The Seattle Transit Authority was in a bind. To avoid a hypocritical stance by not accepting her ads and to avoid the escalation of unnecessary friction by accepting the ads, they rejected the anti-Israel ads entirely, which was set for the next week.

Success.

Turning the head on politically correct arguments is her specialty. In this way, the inherent bias and ungodliness within the politically correct posture is exposed.

But week after week, Pamela unmasks the leftist radicals, stealth jihadists, & biased media in a potpourri of clever reportage and hard-hitting exposés sprinkled with biting humor.

Do you remember Rifqa Bary, the young Muslim-turned-Christian girl whose parents wanted to kill her for converting to Christianity? Thanks to Pamela’s beating the drum and calling for protest rallies – and despite the dishonest reporting of the mainstream media – a clearer picture emerged as to the dangers facing Rifqa. And now, upon turning 18, free from the threat of honor killing, Rifqa has vowed to “preach the word to all the nations.”

Another success.

It has been claimed that Pamela Geller was the one who made the Ground Zero Mosque story national news and, as a result of exposing the plans of stealth jihadists in the US, has come under such increasing opposition and actual death threats.

Fearless in the face of danger, protecting the common good, this is why I’m nominating Pamela Geller as Person of the Year.

You might, like me, pray for her protection and for her colleague Robert Spencer for all the work they undertake to preserve our Judeo-Christian heritage and to keep truth and freedom alive in America.

The reason for this pick is to encourage us all to be like Pamela Geller – because, if we all spoke out against unrighteousness, the forces that would try to derail this country would not be allowed to flourish.

Blessings, Pamela!

Jew Hatred Bus Ads Run in Seattle

My life-saving bus ads for Muslim apostates were banned in Detroit. We had to sue to get them up in Miami. We had to sue New York transit to get Ground Zero bus ads up, but Jews defending themselves are advertised as a war crime without hesitation. Over ten thousand rockets into southern Israel by "Palestinian" Muslims, but no ads condemning the actual war crimes.

Speech is free as long as you demonize Jews or Christians.

I imagine that the spokesman for this group, SS sympathizer Ed Mast, would shoot a Jew running away from a gas chamber in Poland for "war crimes."

Time to run some SIOA bus ads in Seattle to educate these neanderthals.

'Israeli War Crimes' signs to go on Metro buses by ALLEN SCHAUFFLER / KING 5 News
SEATTLE – "Israeli War Crimes," the enormous advertisement reads. "Your tax dollars at work."

To the right of the image is a group of children -- one little boy stares out at the viewer, the others gawk at a demolished building, all rebar and crumbled concrete.

It's an ad you'll be seeing soon on a handful of Metro buses in downtown Seattle.

A group calling itself the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign has paid King County $1,794 so that 12 buses will carry that message around town, starting two days after Christmas. That's December 27: the two-year anniversary of Israeli attacks on Gaza, aimed at stopping rocket attacks and weapons smuggling.

Ed Mast, a Seattle man who is a spokesperson for the group, says it’s not meant to be an anti-Israel message, but a message designed to generate discussion and awareness.

"I wouldn't say it's an anti-Israel message any more than any complaint about a country is anti-that country. We would like Israel to stop violating human rights. We would like Israel to give equal rights to its Palestinian citizens and its Palestinian subjects who live under occupation," said Mast.

At the Pacific Northwest office of the Anti-Defamation League, the ad campaign is seen quite a bit differently.

"We're dismayed," says Community Director Hilary Bernstein, who calls the bus-born advertisement grotesquely one-sided. "Citizens young and old will be seeing this sort of propaganda, this very one-sided distortion. It's unfortunate."

So, is the side of a public bus the right place for this kind of attack? Are the issues that regularly inflame one of the most flammable hot-spots in the world appropriate fare for people strolling the sidewalks of Seattle?

As far as King County is concerned, it's not really up to them what appears on the side of their buses, as long as it fits specific guidelines regarding:

* Pornography
* Alcohol
* Tobacco, and
* As long as the images and material used don't interfere with public safety or insult specific groups to the point that a riot could be incited, vandalism could occur or public safety could be threatened.

King County Metro Transit spokesperson Linda Thielke acknowledges some people will be offended by the campaign, but that is not enough to prevent the rolling billboards from hitting the streets.

"As a government, we are mindful of the provisions in state and federal constitutions to protect freedom of speech. So, we can't object these campaigns simply because they offend some people," said Thielke.

The Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign has targeted their advertising so that the buses carrying their message will run mostly on Seattle routes.

NYTimes Distorts to Support Muslim Lies

New York Times Soils Itself Again with Ground Zero Bus Coverage

I read the New York Times coverage on the Ground Zero bus campaign and had to laugh. They are so crippled by their liberal bias, they are incapable of reporting a simple story in a responsible, intellectually honest or accurate way. Journalism is dead if these jokers are the template.

Michael Grynbaum writes...........

The group behind the advertisement had sued the authority last week, alleging that the advertisement had initially been rejected as inappropriate.

Wrong. Not "inappropriate." The position was 911 images were banned -- which is shocking. But nowhere in the article do they report that. Do New Yorkers and/or Americans know that 911 images have been embargoed? And it was not alleged, it was rejected, four times.

They run, unchallenged, the MTA's nonsensical position that they never saw the ad until Friday, unchallenged. The ad was rejected four times -- hellooooooo.

And of course I am misquoted. When asked if I was "concerned that the image of the flaming twin towers might upset some New Yorkers," The Times reports

Ms. Geller, in a brief interview on Monday, replied: “Not at all. It’s part of American history.”

This is untrue. Clearly, the reporter with an agenda needed to twist my quote in the hopes of making me seem .......somehow cavalier about the issue. What I said was, "it's part of American history, and not nearly as offensive as a 15-story mega mosque looking down on the cemetery of Ground Zero." Which is what I said earlier that day here.

It's amusing to watch the cold-blooded try and paint the passionate as ............cold-blooded.

They have no shame.

City Buses to Get Ads Opposing Islam Center NY Times

In the suit, the ad’s sponsor, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, which is run by Pamela Geller, a prominent right-wing blogger, claimed that the firm that handles advertising for the transit agency had infringed on its right to free speech by repeatedly requesting changes to the ad, like removing the image of the plane.

In a short statement issued on Monday, a spokesman for the authority, Kevin Ortiz, said the advertisement as originally submitted had been deemed acceptable under the agency’s “advertising guidelines and governing legal standards.”

The authority, which must approve advertising in the transit system, said it had not made a final decision on the advertisement before the lawsuit was filed.

John H. Banks III, a mayoral appointee to the authority’s board, said he supported the decision, despite his personal objection to the advertisement. “The wonderful thing about our country is that people have a right to express themselves, as long as it doesn’t endanger anyone’s life,” Mr. Banks said. “I support it, even though I disagree with it vehemently.”

Whose life is in danger? I mean, really. Who gets the death threats for opposing Islamic supremacism?

The planned mosque, which received final city approval last week, has been at the center of a fierce national debate about religious freedom and the legacy of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Asked if she was concerned that the image of the flaming twin towers might upset some New Yorkers, Ms. Geller, in a brief interview on Monday, replied: “Not at all. It’s part of American history.”

Not what I said.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority allows anti-mosque ads

NEW YORK (WPIX) - In a new development, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has decided to allow controversial advertisements arguing against the proposed construction of a mosque to appear on the side of New York City buses.

The MTA released the following Monday, "While the MTA does not endorse the views expressed in this or other ads that appear on the transit system, the advertisement purchased by a group opposing a planned mosque near the World Trade Center was accepted today after its review under MTA's advertising guidelines and governing legal standards."

The anti-mosque ad is a powerful ad with images evoking 9/11 designed by a group which strongly opposes the construction of what's being called the "Ground Zero Mosque". The controversial ad was designed, paid for, and presented to the MTA a month ago, but the MTA refused to approve the campaign, so the ad's sponsors decided to bring the fight to court.

Despite a deal already inked with CBS, the company with rights to the billboards, the MTA is the censor-in-chief, deciding which ads the public can see and which ones you can't.

This afternoon, David Yerushalmi, an attorney for the anti-mosque group told PIX News "the government has no basis to tell you or me or my client that they don't like the viewpoint."

Pamela Geller, Executive Director of the Freedom Defense Initiative asked, "what's more insulting and offensive -- that image of truth, or a 15 story mega-mosque looking down on the sacred ground of Ground Zero?"

Now that the MTA has had a change of heart, when can you expect to see the ads up and running on city buses? You might start seeing them as early as next week.
