Under Stimulus Each Job Created Costs $millions

This sign and others like it have been put up all over the country to promote Obama and his policies - and paid for with taxpayer money, making it potentially

More than a year after Congress approved $800 billion in stimulus funds, the Los Angeles city controller has released a 40-page report on how the city spent its share, and the results are not living up to expectations.

"I'm disappointed that we've only created or retained (?!) 55 jobs after receiving $111 million," said Wendy Greuel, the city's controller. "With our local unemployment rate over 12 percent we need to do a better job cutting red tape and putting Angelenos back to work."

According to the audit, the Los Angeles Department of Public Works spent $70 million in stimulus funds -- in return, it created seven private sector jobs and saved seven workers from layoffs. Taxpayer cost per job: $1.5 million.

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation created even fewer jobs per dollar, spending $40 million but netting just nine jobs. Taxpayer cost per job: $4.4 million.

Greuel blamed the dismal numbers on several factors:


Bureaucratic red tape: Four highway projects did not even go out to bid until seven months after they were authorized.

2. Projects that were supposed to be competitively bid in the private sector went instead went to city workers.

3. Stimulus money was not properly tracked within departments

4. Both departments could not report the jobs created and retained in a timely fashion.

SOTU Poor and the POTUS not Up to Challenge

The SOTU was already poor and the POTUS speech changed nothing. He promised not to fiddle with defense spending. After eight years of battle in Afghanistan, the US military must bribe the warlords to allow its supply convoys to reach the isolated outposts. Although the enormous bribes exceed 10% of the Afghan GNP, the outposts remain at the mercy of the warlords. A change in policy could lead to any number of massacres.
This is but one example from a corrupt and bloated government that is of little benefit to the people. Indeed, it serves as an obstacle to progress. The USA could take an example from China of capitalist government working for the people.
The POTUS never explained why his old policies would now work.

The Congress is a money making club. Why on earth would any member follow his conscience, or listen to the people? They can't possibly pay the bribes and graft available from the special interests.
If the opposition makes waves, the incumbent runs a smear campaign documented by co-operative media lackeys. If the opponent gets too close to the truth, a call to the FBI will release damaging evidence on him videotapes of his sexual adventures, the slaves he keeps in his attic, the nuclear secrets he sold to the Pakistanis etc.
The recent lootings by venal officials have been so flagrant as to give every voter a swift kick in the teeth. The outgoing administration doesn't bother to make the usual excuses. They stuff their trunks and suitcases with newly printed greenbacks as they retreat to friendly tax havens.
Mr Obama can deliver all the flowery speeches he wants, but they are meaningless if the vast majority of his colleagues are not incarcerated.

There are many unresolved questions involved with the Bush Administration. They range from who took out the World Trade Center through the current bail out of the banking industry. Our history is cover-up rather than disclosure.
The recent public vote indicated we are unhappy with governmental ineptitude and criminality. We realize few, if any, evil-doers will ever sit in prison. Newcomers to politics will learn crime pays handsomely with little chance at prosecution.
Why can't we imprison suspects as enemy combatants? They could earn a pardon by informing on their cohorts. Our nuclear secrets passed through the FBI and the State Department. The Turks sold them to Pakistan. Somewhere, somebody knows something.
Hiding worthless subprime mortgages in piles of collateralized debt obligations is a crime. Bribing the rating firms to upgrade these instruments from BBB to AAA is also criminal. The bankers who bought them knew better. Any legislator who voted to bail out the banks should also sit in prison.

A criminalized financial tool to collect subprime mortgages, the gangster bankers took the worthless papers to the corrupt bond raters who marked them triple AAA. This forgery enabled the brokers to sell them to investment banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions.The effort is similar to a Ponzi scheme, which lasts until the suckers stop investing at the bottom of the pyramid. The subprime scam continued until housing prices started to fall. This ate into the homeowner's equity and raised his mortgage payments. Soon, the sale price was lower than the debt on the house.Although the corrupt government bailed out some financial institutions, they refused loans to small business and to potential home buyers. This has led to increased bankruptcies and unemployment.. After consumer spending hit a downward spiral, massive lay-offs have occurred persuading job holders to tighten their belts.The coming depression is likely to be greater than the 1930's version. FDR assembled a new crew that improvised attacks on the real problems of the people. Obama is staffing with many of the crooks who put the financial scheme together or those who ignored it.They detest the ordinary citizens who suffer. The Homeland Security will punish anyone who objects to the rape of our country.

If I had a daughter, I would have named her after Special Agent Clarice Starling. The star of the “Silence of the Lambs” series, she is a Protestant from West Virginia. I imagine her Presbyterian a sour personality made of the right stuff. If somebody took her virginity, he probably suffered deeply for his affront.

Clarice took seriously her FBI oath to serve and to protect. Also, putting her at odds with her spineless cohorts, she brings felons to justice. She is the ultimate Presbyter with no use for the subtle gray areas between right and wrong.

The FBI founder J. Edgar Hoover resembled her in zeal. An un-married cross dresser he amassed sexual information on three generations of the power elite. He used these files to blackmail officials to build his power base and to pursue suspected Communist dupes in America.

Since the Presidents have taken over the FBI they have used the files to foster the Presidential agenda. In effect, the administration has combined the three branches of government into one.

This explains much of the inability of the 2006 Democratic majorities to bridge the status quo. The legislators the agencies and the media have already received their marching orders for 2009.

The Big Players Bid to Take Over America

The big boys decided the people were getting too uppity. Imagine, a black man running for President. Big government did away with oversight and maintenance of the infrastructure. Big finance indulged in faulty mortgages to increase profits and to strip the public of home equity. The media popularized the war effort and hid the tax cuts given the wealthy. Reckless deficit spending and mounting debt lowered the dollar confidence of overseas investors. The dollar weakened driving up oil prices for Americans, with oil prices relatively constant for the rest of the world. Consequently, there is an increase in the demand for oil.
The huge food companies took advantage to triple the price of rice and to make other products jump in price also. Voodoo economics [giving corporate tax cuts in time of war] eliminated jobs growth. Indeed, we lose 80,000 jobs every month.
Unemployment increases, home foreclosures, rising fuel and food prices have driven consumer confidence to low levels.
Lower consumer spending eliminates jobs. Thus, there is nothing to stop the downward spiral.

It is well nigh impossible to prosecute high US officials here. They own law enforcement and the judiciary. Possible witnesses are bribed or murdered.
The President offers a solution. He would declare suspects and witnesses as enemy combatants and would put them into Gitmo until they confessed [or implicated those really guilty].

Admittedly, the administration is totally corrupt and criminal. Expecting impeachment implies the other two branches function as checks and balances. Other wishful thinking includes heroic assumptions about law enforcement and fair elections.
The government controls the information fed the public by the pliant mass media. Who has the will and the power to impeach the highly placed perpetrators? Always, we should remember the nuclear weapons are in their hands. Innocent Americans are not that much different from ordinary Iranians.

In Israel the crooks sent me a summons to the wrong address, so they could say I refused it. Then, the judge would rule against me with a behind the back decision. When I did get proper service say for 10am, the judge would begin my case at 9am.
The Supreme Court told me to go home and rewrite my suit. Then, they wrote a behind my back decision to pay $2000 in court costs. There are actions pending in the European courts accusing many Israeli judges of crimes against humanity. Maybe, we can get them for failure to appear.

The CIA has murdered at least six millions civilians since 1950 [not counting victims in Iraq]. They wrote the book on how to make enemies and to terrify friends.

The White House never intended to ruin the economy. Why would thieves prompt a bank to go bust before the heist was complete?

The US military has been a joke since it last won in 1945.
