Does POTUS Prepare for "Brown Shirt" Martial Law?

A combined operation under his single command of the Military and Homeland Security and National Guard forces for dealing with internal problems or terror activities will provide Obama with an ability to declare martial law and rule by decree.

National Guard forces , which function under State Governors can suddenly all be "Federalized" in an instant. That is if the select Governors Committee Obama formed very early on - TO REPRESENT ALL GOVERNORS - fails to usurp enough power from their colleagues to pass on to him without that executive order.

Bush Coup Scenario

A Bush/Cheney Coup Is Possible
Since I haven't heard from Lyndon LaRouche after 1983, I thought he was dead. I watched the coverage of the siege on NDTV 18/3. It was realistic and utterly chaotic. Totally unlike the World Trade Center tragedy, they lacked a string of 'witnesses' who mouthed the Administration line.
I can't imagine the Brits being involved in this. They are too class conscious to murder tourists in posh hotels. The Mossad would have notified the Jews in the Chabad House to steer clear that day. The Americans are too much in love with their high tech toys to limit themselves to 300 dead. If a nuclear war begins, it will point directly at the USA. Nobody else hates Pakistan AND India enough to set up a nuclear war between them.
After the attack on Iran failed to materialize, the Republicans rushed to bail out the financial interests before the GOP scuttled the ship of state. As they did not want to get lynched before they left town, they lowered the gas prices. I thought they kept control of the MSM simply to keep from sinking below the radar. However, the estimate of Pakistani A-bombs has risen from 4 to 150 in the past few months.
Bush could attack India with a number of suitcase bombs, blame it on Pakistan and retaliate with the US Navy. He could declare Martial Law. Backed by the US Military patrolling our streets, he could remain POTUS for some time.

The Rising Cost of Baseball Tickets

Why does everyone assume elections will take place this year? As expressed in NSPD51, the President can state an emergency and declare Martial Law at his discretion.
Has anyone been able to change his course in a meaningful way?
Does he have a reason to retire?
Living abroad for 25 years, I'd like to see a ballgame or two. If the price of admission includes prison and torture, I'll stay where I am.

The Daily Kos Strike and the NSPD 51

Some Hillary supporters at the Daily Kos are angered by management’s seeming disapproval of their candidate.

Here’s what Alegre writes in a HuffPost excerpt.

“Sadly, the majority of the administrators have allowed this hostile environment to develop in our online community for anyone who isn’t planted firmly in the Obama camp. They've routinely ignored personal attacks and allowed disruptive, spam-like posts to go unchecked whenever anyone expresses support for Hillary or challenges something their candidate has said or done. There are however several front-pagers who have managed to avoid taking part in the attacks on Hillary and for that I’m grateful. But the site has grown to the point where they simply can’t – or won’t monitor it.

As a result, our community has become little more than an echo chamber with an attitude that harkens back to the early days of Dubbya’s administration - yer either with us or yer a’gin us, heh! The attackers and disrupters are no better than Chris Matthews with their sexism, hate, lies, and obsession with bashing - all – things – Hillary.”

Humbly, I urge all decent Americans to consider the alternative. Our country is bordering on Martial Law and the suspension of elections. We risk a coup d’etat, which will crush our liberties and enslave us under a despot.

Our teachers warn. If we fail to educate one generation of students properly, we will lose our civilization forever.

Well, we proved we were a bit tougher than that.

The merchants of tyranny have been trumpeting fear, hatred, racism and bigotry for three generations. Since 1947 they have been bashing our protective walls our Constitution, our human rights and our checks and balances. We lack conscientious legislators, judges and administrators.

Nobody in authority dares to discuss the implications of NSPD 51.

Nobody in law enforcement dares to challenge the sale of our nuclear secrets to potential enemies.

Almost everyone saluted the Patriot and Military Commissions Acts.

We discussed Hillary’s asbestos pants suits and Barack’s floppy ears.

My advice to voters and to Daily Kos writers is to get a meaningful life and then to fight for your life in order to have one.

Good night and good luck.

Found in Bed with a Live Boy or a Dead Woman

Found in Bed with a Live Boy or a Dead Woman

This is the only way Barack Obama can lose to Mr Bush’s surrogate John McCain.

What can Mr Bush do to achieve a third term in office?

Bush and Uribe v. Chavez and Correa - by Stephen Lendman, opednews.com (excerpt)

Call it another salvo in Bush v. Chavez with Ecuador's Raphael Correa as a secondary target and Colombia's Alvaro Uribe as a proxy aggressor. The Ecuadorean incursion was no ordinary cross-border raid. It was a made in Washington affair that escalates a nine year attempt to remove the Venezuelan leader and return oligarchs in the country to power. It also threatens two regional leaders who know what they're up against in Uribe and Washington, "friendly" handshakes in the Dominican Republic notwithstanding. The situation is far from settled.

Clarifying the US Incursion into Ecuador

The US=Colombian raid was an act of war. In violation of the UN Charter, it illustrates the Administration's zeal for yet another preemptive war.

Under NSPD 51 President Bush has the excuse to declare Martial Law and to suspend the 2008 elections. Stephen Lendman is one of the few who recognizes the dangers the incursion might bring.

If anyone has a more cogent explanation for the goings on, he or she has my complete attention.

Will Mr Bush Serve a Third Term?

Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

What is to prevent Mr Bush from staging a false flags event and declaring Martial Law? Acting under NSPD 51, he could seize control of the three branches of government and suspend the 2008 elections indefinitely.

Who would oppose him? How?

America Going to the Dogs

USA Going to the Dogs

My dogs must dig a shallow hole to sleep in every night. Since I have a tiled floor, they indulge their instinct in the beleaguered items I laughingly call my furniture. Consequently, wood chips and mattress stuffing dominate my décor a definite lived-in effect.

As these leftovers are poor stuff as victuals, my doggie crew counts anything soft as edible. I dare not enter my humble home without a bag of munchies.

The Israeli Police State authorities have never acquired this wisdom. They insist on climbing over the walls to conduct warrantless searches and seizures. It is difficult to smash metal doors before twenty-eight sets of canine teeth gnawing at every exposed body part.

Americans generally lack such protections. They live behind shrubs and wooden picket fences easily breached. Their animals are house pets licking the hands of intruders.

The good citizens have forgotten they are responsible for self-defense. They depend on uniformed authorities for protection. They rely on the legal system for justice. The Constitution is in the hands of those sworn to uphold it.

The founding fathers weren’t so trusting. They knew power corrupts, so they set up a system of checks and balances. Nobody could hold a mandate indefinitely.

Who could anticipate a time when Americans would live in fear? Afraid to speak freely, they take instructions from television personalities and administration pundits. They fear to associate with potential enemy combatants who uphold ancient traditions and who espouse causes deemed heretical in high places.

In preparation for Martial Law, the leaders have revoked habeas corpus and the rule of law. They promote a foreign policy based on intervention, preemptive war and torture.

As my dogs, they beggar the future for one night of comfortable slumber.

Would George Set Up NSPD 51 for Hillary?

Would George Prepare NSPD 51 for Hillary?

NSPD-51: Bush prepares martial law

Every president since FDR has drawn up such plans. The most notorious were Nixon's "Operation Garden Plot" and Reagan's "REX 84 Alpha"—a legacy we recalled when the Homeland Security Act passed in 2002. This latest incarnation has gone unnoticed by the New York Times and other major media. Leave it to the editorial page of Tennessee's Chattanoogan, May 24:

Bush Makes Power Grab
President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted near dictatorial powers to the office of the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president.

The "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive," with the dual designation of NSPD-51, as a National Security Presidential Directive, and HSPD-20, as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive, establishes under the office of president a new National Continuity Coordinator.

That job, as the document describes, is to make plans for "National Essential Functions" of all federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal governments, as well as private sector organizations to continue functioning under the president's directives in the event of a national emergency.

The directive loosely defines "catastrophic emergency" as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions."

When the President determines a catastrophic emergency has occurred, the President can take over all government functions and direct all private sector activities to ensure we will emerge from the emergency with an "enduring constitutional government."

Translated into layman's terms, when the President determines a national emergency has occurred, the President can declare to the office of the presidency powers usually assumed by dictators to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over.

Ironically, the directive sees no contradiction in the assumption of dictatorial powers by the President with the goal of maintaining constitutional continuity through an emergency.

The directive specifies that the assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism will be designated as the National Continuity Coordinator. Further established is a Continuity Policy Coordination Committee, chaired by a senior director from the Homeland Security Council staff, designated by the National Continuity Coordinator, to be "the main day-to-day forum for such policy coordination."

Currently, the assistant to the president for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism is Frances Fragos Townsend. Townsend spent 13 years at the Justice Department before moving to the U.S. Coast Guard where she served as assistant commandant for intelligence. She is a White House staff member in the executive office of the president who also chairs the Homeland Security Council, which as a counterpart to the National Security Council reports directly to the president.

The directive issued May 9 makes no attempt to reconcile the powers created there for the National Continuity Coordinator with the National Emergency Act. As specified by U.S. Code Title 50, Chapter 34, Subchapter II, Section 1621, the National Emergency Act allows that the president may declare a national emergency but requires that such proclamation "shall immediately be transmitted to the Congress and published in the Federal Register."

A Congressional Research Service study notes that under the National Emergency Act, the President "may seize property, organize and control the means of production, seize commodities, assign military forces abroad, institute martial law, seize and control all transportation and communication, regulate the operation of private enterprise, restrict travel, and, in a variety of ways, control the lives of United States citizens."

The CRS study notes that the National Emergency Act sets up congress as a balance empowered to "modify, rescind, or render dormant such delegated emergency authority," if Congress believes the president has acted inappropriately.

NSPD-51/ HSPD-20 appears to supersede the National Emergency Act by creating the new position of National Continuity Coordinator without any specific act of Congress authorizing the position.

NSPD-51/ HSPD-20 also makes no reference whatsoever to Congress. The language of the May 9 directive appears to negate any a requirement that the President submit to Congress a determination that a national emergency exists, suggesting instead that the powers of the executive order can be implemented without any congressional approval or oversight.

Homeland Security spokesperson Russ Knocke affirmed that the Homeland Security Department will be implementing the requirements of NSPD-51/HSPD-20 under Townsend's direction.

The White House had no comment.

While we're skeptical Bush will have the cojones to pull this off, NSPD-51 is particularly ominous in light of the draconian provisions of the 2007 National Defense Authorization Act.
