4000 Muslims Attack Coptic Christians

Four thousand Muslims are attacking Copts in Upper Egypt, Kina County. In the town of Al- Nawaed, in the center of Abu Teshet. The attackers surrounded the area, starting fires in Coptic houses while Copts were still inside.

Statement by the President on Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha

Michelle and I extend our greetings for a happy Eid-ul-Adha to Muslims worldwide and wish safe travels to those performing Hajj. This year, nearly three million pilgrims from more than 160 countries - including the United States - have gathered in Mecca and neighboring sites to perform the Hajj rituals and stand together in prayer.

On Eid, Muslims around the world will commemorate Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son, and distribute food to those less fortunate - a reminder of the shared values and the common roots of three of the world's major religions.

On behalf of the American people, we extend our best wishes during this Hajj season – Eid Mubarak and Hajj Mabrour.

Where's Obama's statement to the Copts?
And I find his statement about shared values to be insulting ....... shared values? Not. Falsifying my religion and that of Christianity is not in my value system.
The mention of Abraham in Obama's mash note is particularly galling.

Yet again, their narrative is plagiarized and just plain wrong! Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac according to G-d's instruction to test Abraham's willingness to listen to G-d and heed His instruction. G-d, in His mercy, provided a ram stuck in the thicket for Abraham to sacrifice in Isaac's stead. This is recognized by Jews and Christians according to the Torah/Tenach/Bible/Old Testament.

Muslims pervert this verse, plagiarize and claim it as their own history with one glaring exception. Abraham's wife, Sarah, could not conceive, without G-d's intervention, so Abraham "had relations" with Sarah's handmaid, Hagar. Ishmael, father of all Arabs, was the issue of the illicit union between Abraham and Hagar. He was a literal bastard. (not that it means anything to be one anymore, but it did up until very recently, historically speaking.) The Koran has Abraham offering Ishmael, rather than Isaac, as the sacrifice, ushering in the longest sibling rivalry/grudge match in mankind's history!

Koran Insists "Jews and Christians Apes and Swine"

It is precisely this capacity for self-criticism that has been glaringly absent from Islam’s internal debate, both among American Muslims and those in the Islamic world. To take just one recent example: When asked about the fact that Muslim radicals make liberal use of the Koranic verse that calls Jews and Christians “apes and swine” and says that they are under the curse of Allah (Sura 5:60), Hussein Ibish of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee relied on American ignorance of Islam and simply denied that such a verse was actually in the Koran. Then he took a page from Al-Maeena’s Zionist demonization clique and suggested that those who asked such questions were simply bigots.

At that moment Ibish had an opportunity to explain that verse in a way that would remove its noxious implications and discredit the radicals who take it at face value. The fact that he chose instead to deny the existence of this verse raises questions about his ultimate goal. Does he want to instill in Americans a positive image of Islam at any cost — even at the expense of the truth?

In dealing with uncomfortable matters in this way he insults both Muslims and non-Muslims. By ignoring Koranic passages like Sura 5:60 and the book’s many calls to violence, moderate Muslims only give non-Muslims reason to suspect their intentions and honesty.
