Ron Paul to the Rescue

To me, Ron Paul presented a coherent and far-reaching agenda. We rejected it as being too radical and unrealistic. Freedom, justice and the rule of law require hard work and some thought. Tasks clearly beyond our capabilities, we are unlikely to climb out of the grave we have dug for ourselves.Yet, we have the Constitution and the 1948 UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. If enforced, they would serve as guides for a better future. The population sat on its hands during the passing of the Patriot and Military Commissions Acts. We allowed our military to stumble into two Asian land wars they can not win. The politicians and the bankers have picked our carcass clean. One might infer we are not ready for self-government.Ron Paul suggested we leave Asia immediately. He urged us to scrap the IRS and all the other alphabet soup agencies. Why not?

Economic Liberty

“Economic liberty is embodied in the practice of
free-enterprise capitalism, which functions best if largely unconstrained by
government taxation and regulation.”

This is a lofty statement. If all the components described
the American reality, our nation would be in fine shape. Unfortunately, none of
this describes the conditions on the ground so to speak.

Corporate America
controls 99% of the government and of the media. The idea is to strip the
ordinary citizens of their Constitutional and human rights so they have no way
to redress grievances. Through Federal control of the school curriculum, they
have dummied down the population to be unaware of the rights they once had and
of the duties involved in maintaining liberty.

Law enforcement and judicial officials do not serve and
protect the people. Rather, they work to suppress free expression by
dissidents, whistle blowers and other rowdies who seek liberty and justice for
all.

Deregulation has set loose a collection of robber barons,
organized thieves and seditionists to degrade the populace and to loot the
public treasury.

Very few enterprises are competitive and none of them allow
the free movement of labor, capital and the factors of production.

Dressing up negative campaign ads with quotes from the
founding fathers won’t benefit anyone.

Countdown to Crawford Amuses Me

Bush needs to be held accountable for his crimes. I'm Registered Republican,
It doesn't matter wether you're Democrat or Republican, It's all a lie anyways.
They all sing the same tune. We're all American no matter what our choice of
party. As American's it's our duty to hold our officials accountable for their
actions. George Bush has brought us into a war that we didn't want based on
lies and acts of false flag terror. He and his friends made a fortune off the
lives of our sons and daughters. He prayed on our fears to gain control over
our lives via the Patriot Act. He announced himself above the law. Will you all
allow him to be above the law? It's not too late. It's never too late. Yes his
term is almost over, but it's not over yet. Impeach him now before he decides
to send us into Iran
on his way out. If that happens this economy will crash and bring the whole
world down with it. If nothing is done, every president after him will know
that he/she can also be a dictator "above the law" and that the
American public wll lay down, take it, and do nothing about it.

You say it's too late? Our forefathers gave their lives to see to it that
tyrants like this were not in power. All you have to do is pick up a phone and
call Congress.

The Thousand Thousand Bush Murders

WE THE PEOPLE demand the Impeachment of G.W.Bush and Slick Dick Cheney!
They have committed crimes against us, WE THE PEOPLE, and crimes against the
People of Iraq, and are about to do the same to Iran.

Did you not find it strange NO ONE at that hearing could call Bush what he
is..A cold blooded killer, nor could they say he is a bold faced liar?

Where was their freedom of speech? What happened to their rights given to
them under the Constitution?

If our rights are taken away kiss FREEDOM OF THE PRESS goodbye as it walks
out the door.

Impeachment or Anger Management?

The ONLY reason Pelosi let this go to judiciary is because Cindy Sheehan
announced running against her. The problem with this country is we have a
choice between who they tell us to vote for. The Republican and Democratic
parties are just funnels for special interest money that answer to the
contributor and not to the electorate.Look at who voted to allow wiretapping
BEFORE a court order was issued -CLEARLY against the Bill of Rights they've
sworn to uphold-and whatever ELSE VOTE THESE PEOPLE OUT. We need to force
legislators to pass a law that ANY public official that purposely subverts the
constitution can be IMMEDIATELY prosecuted. Not like Rove who will laugh and
laugh until even if he IS convicted Bush will pardon. We have a MORAL
imperative to do everything within our power to prosecute people like
Bush/Cheney who seek to undermine our national ideals.Get rid of the Democratic
and Republican parties, the Federal Reserve, prosecute Bush/Cheney for treason,
rescind ALL presidential directives and "secret" laws passed by Bush,
prosecute Nancy Pelosi for complicity in treason.

They Have Trampled Our Constitution

They Have Trampled Our Constitution Underfoot

Bill Moyers, Doubleday

Edward R. Murrow told his generation of journalists: "No one can eliminate prejudices -- just recognize them." Here is my bias: extremes of wealth and poverty cannot be reconciled with a genuinely democratic politics. When the state becomes the guardian of power and privilege to the neglect of justice for the people as a whole, it mocks the very concept of government as proclaimed in the preamble to our Constitution; mocks Lincoln's sacred belief in "government of the people, by the people, and for the people"; mocks the democratic notion of government as "a voluntary union for the common good" embodied in the great wave of reform that produced the Progressive Era and the two Roosevelts. In contrast, the philosophy popularized in the last quarter century that "freedom" simply means freedom to choose among competing brands of consumer goods, that taxes are an unfair theft from the pockets of the successful to reward the incompetent, and that the market will meet all human needs while government itself becomes the enabler of privilege -- the philosophy of an earlier social Darwinism and laissez-faire capitalism dressed in new togs -- is as subversive as Benedict Arnold's betrayal of the Revolution he had once served. Again, Mary Lease: "The great evils which are cursing American society and undermining the foundations of the republic flow not from the legitimate operation of the great human government which our fathers gave us, but they come from tramping its plain provisions underfoot."

The Crooks Have Been in Charge

The crooks have been in charge since the beginning of civilization. They remain in power even when the common people have asserted themselves. Magna Carta, our Constitution and the New Deal are notable exceptions to the tide of history.

Our liberties are fragile things of beauty always under attack. Backed by naked force up to and including WMD, the evil doers seem invincible.

I maintain they are criminals who fear exposure, trial and imprisonment. They are vulnerable to free speech actively detailing their wrong-doing.

They can be targets for the informed citizenry.

That’s my plan, anyway.

Preemptive War is an Unlawful Act

Letter to the Editor: Opednews.com

Preemptive War is an Unlawful Act

Preemptive war is a violation of the UN Charter and of our Constitution. The guilty parties include those who promulgated it, voted to fund it or acted to obscure the wrongdoing involved.

The charges should be extended to those above a level of responsibility [GS15 for example] across the three branches of government. There is no reason for them to remain in their posts while the judicial process continues.

For their protection [from angry mobs etc] they should be incarcerated until they can be proven innocent.

I welcome any lawful program suggestions to end preemptive war as a policy alternative.
