Arab Mob Destroys Joseph's Tomb

Joseph's Tomb desecrated by Palestinian mobs October 7, 2000

If UNESCO's decision prevails, the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Rachel's tomb face the same tragedy that befell Joseph's Tomb on October 7th, 2000. Under the Oslo Agreement, the Palestinian Authority (PA) was to protect holy sites, Jewish and Christian, and ensure access by all. However, when Israeli forces pulled out of the area, Palestinians mobs overran the site, killed a soldier, and ransacked the place, burning Jewish prayer books, and reducing the sacred site to a smoldering heap of rubble. An Associated Press dispatch reported, "the dome of the tomb was painted green and bulldozers were seen clearing the surrounding area," as the Palestinian Arabs sought to transform the biblical resting place of Joseph into a Muslim conquest.

The destruction of Joseph's Tomb was one piece of a calculated campaign by Muslim Arabs to write everyone else out of the history of the land of Israel. The same fate waits for Tomb of the Patriarchs and Rachel's Tomb if we do not vigilantly protect our sacred sites.
UNESCO Defying its Mission to Preserve Heritage
by Denying Jewish Heritage
The UNESCO mission states: "Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our cultural and natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration."

There must be no exception in UNESCO's mission when it comes to Jewish heritage. Israel's Jewish legacy must be recognized and preserved and not swept away to conform with the pro-Palestinian narrative. In attempting to sever the Jewish cultural, religious and natural heritage bond with the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Rachel's Tomb, UNESCO denies the history it is mandated to preserve, engages in a political maneuver designed to weaken a member UN nation, and undermines its own principles. It aims to rob the Jewish people not only of two sacred sites, which are irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration, but also of their past and a legacy to pass on to future generations. We demand that UNESCO, whose purpose it is to protect heritage, also protect Jewish heritage, rather than deny it.

Good News: Hezbollah Preparing for War

Hezbullah has sent a group that looks a bit more fearsome than these guys (from the 2006 Second Lebanon War) to train on Fateh 110 rockets in Iran.

Hizbullah has conducted missile maneuvers on Fateh 110 rockets in Iran, reported the Kuwaiti al-Rai newspaper on Saturday.

Sources concerned told the paper that the units participating in the maneuvers have returned to Lebanon after demonstrating great prowess in using this long-range missile.

The newspaper also highlighted the fact that the party's maneuvers coincided with Israeli military maneuvers, which it interpreted as a growing readiness by both sides to wage a new war that is expected to be "the last of the wars" due to its expected highly destructive nature.

More on the Fateh 110 here. You may recall that in the last war, Israel wiped out Hezbullah's long-range missile capability on the ground. Heh.

Turkey is Re-establishing Its Caliphate in the Balkans

UPDATE: And this from Julia Gorin, "Please note that the “flotilla” incident was in fact a joint Syrian-Turkish military operation. And the link to this is a Syrian intel guy who has been operating for years in Bosnia."

As Turkey Brazenly Reestablishes its Caliphate in the Balkans, a Bosnian Muslim ex-Ambassador Asks: JUST WHAT IS ISRAEL UP TO IN THE BALKANS?!

Bosnia’s former ambassador to Turkey — who, surprise-surprise, now lives in Turkey — is further stoking Turks (and anyone else who’ll listen) against Israel.

In what might be the mother of all hypocrisies, former ambassador Hajrudin Somun — who served under the fundamentalist wartime Bosnian president Alija Izetbegovic — tries to cast suspicion on Israel for turning its diplomatic attentions to the Balkans, where Turkey has been operating unimpeded for decades.

After Turkey’s and Syria’s joint act of war against Israel this summer — which prompted Israel to make an overdue reassessment of, and shift in, its alliances in the Balkans — this Bosnian transplant to Turkey is deflecting attention from Turkish provocations against Israel and some Balkan entities, and directing it to Israel’s diplomatically sound reactions to those provocations, as well as to its warnings to the region and its standard diplomatic visits. In Turkish newspaper Today’s Zaman, Somun paints Israeli visits with Balkans leaders as conniving and underhanded, and demands to know Israel’s “designs” on the region. In fact, Israel is discussing common security concerns given Islamic designs on the region, albeit with precious little attention paid to specifically Turkish designs. After all, the Balkans is the Ottomans’ to reclaim!

Lebanon President Risks Well,-Being

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman has declared that Israel could launch a new war against Lebanon, vowing tough response to those Lebanese convicted of spying for Israel.

"The occurrence of an Israeli war is possible, but I don't want to generate an atmosphere of fear," Lebanon's Naharnet quoted Suleiman as saying on Wednesday.

"Israeli threats against Lebanon are persistent and aim at dividing the Lebanese between those who back fighting Israel and those who don't," he noted.

Suleiman also vowed to sign "any death sentence issued against individuals convicted of spying for Israel," a Press TV correspondent in Beirut reported.

Officials who represent prosperous nations should be careful with threats. They have somethying to lose to bombing.

Muslim Attacks Two Israelis in Berlin Disco

Two Israelis hurt at club in what police call an anti-Semitic attack. in a Berlin disco because of their nationality. The spokesman said the attack prompted the police to issue a statement terming the attack as “anti-Semitic.”

According to statements from two male Israelis aged 18 and 22, a Palestinian man was responsible for the assault. He asked the 22-year-old Israeli about his nationality, who replied that he is a citizen of Israel.

The Palestinian perpetrator choked the 22-year-old and punched him in the face. A Berlin police statement said that as the 18-year-old Israeli rushed to help his friend he was also struck by the Palestinian.

The assault took place in the Berlin district of Friedrichshain, a location popular among young Germans and Israelis for its lively bar and club culture.

The Palestinian fled the disco and tossed a beer glass at the 18-year-old Israeli. The police spokesman told the Post that the authorities are searching for the alleged assailant. In a bizarre twist, the disco's 43-year-old bouncer used pepper spray against the two Israelis, who eventually fled to their hotel and notified the police about the assault. The injured Israelis received treatment in a hospital.

The number of attacks on Jews in Germany has risen dramatically in June. Dr. Juliane Wetzel, a controversial member of a federally funded commission devoted to researching and combating anti-Semitism, prompted criticism by suggesting Israel is partially responsible for the attacks.
