The Feminist Deception by Caroline Glick

Since the height of the feminist movement in the late 1960s, non-leftist women in the West and Israel have been hard-pressed to answer the question of whether or not we are feminists. Non-leftist women are opposed to the oppression of women. Certainly, we are no less opposed to the oppression of women than leftist women are.
But at its most basic level, the feminist label has never been solely or even predominantly about preventing and ending oppression or discrimination of women. It has been about advancing the Left's social and political agenda against Western societies. It has been about castigating societies where women enjoy legal rights and protections as "structurally" discriminatory against women in order to weaken the legal, moral and social foundations of those societies.
That is, rather than being about advancing the cause of women, to a large extent, the feminist movement has used the language of women's rights to advance a social and political agenda that has nothing to do with women. So to a large degree, the feminist movement itself is a deception.
The deception at the heart of the feminist movement is nowhere more apparent than in the silence with which self-professed feminists and feminist movements ignore the inhumane treatment of women who live under Islamic law. If feminism weren't a hollow term, then prominent feminists would be the leaders of the anti-jihad movement. Gloria Steinem and her sisters would be leading the call for the overthrow of the anti-female mullocracy in Iran and the end of gender apartheid in Saudi Arabia.
Instead, in 2008 Ms. Magazine, which Steinem founded and which has served as the mouthpiece of the American feminist movement, refused to run an ad featuring then foreign minister Tzipi Livni, Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch and then speaker of the Knesset Dalia Itzik that ran under the headline, "This is Israel." It was too partisan, the magazine claimed.
Leading feminist voices in the US and Europe remain unforgivably silent on the unspeakable oppression of women and girls in Islamic societies. And this cannot simply be attributed to a lack of interest in international affairs. Islamic subjugation and oppression of women happens in Western countries as well. Genital mutilation, forced marriage and other forms of abuse are widespread.
For instance, every year hundreds of Muslim women and girls in Western countries are brutally murdered by their male relatives in so-called "honor killings." Pamela Geller, the intrepid blogger at Atlas Shrugs website has steadfastly documented every case she has found. This year she ran an ad campaign on public buses and taxis in major US cities to raise public awareness of their plight. And for her singular efforts in championing the right to life of Muslim women and girls, she has been reviled by the Left as an anti-Islamic bigot.
Former Dutch parliamentarian Ayaan Hirsi Ali was forced to flee Holland and live surrounded by bodyguards for the past six years because she has made an issue of Islamic oppression of women and girls. The Left - including the feminist movement - has treated this remarkable former Muslim and champion of women's rights as a leper.
IF ALL the feminist community's policy of ignoring Islamic oppression of women did was keep it out of the headlines it would still be unforgivable. But the fact is that by not speaking of the central challenge to women's rights in our times, the organized feminist movement, and the Left it is a part of, are abetting Islam's unspeakable crimes against women and girls. It does so in two ways.
Tyranny unchallenged is tyranny abetted. And the first way that the organized feminist movement and the Left abet the oppression of women by Islamic authorities is by signaling to those authorities that they can get away with it. This truth is laid bare by the responses of Islamic authorities in the rare cases where their oppression of women has received Western attention.
For instance, in 2006, an Iranian Islamic court found Mohammadi-Ashtiani guilty of adultery and sentenced the ethnic Azeri kindergarten teacher and mother of two to death by stoning. She was later also found guilty of murdering her husband. Ashtiani's confessions in both cases were extracted under torture. She has already received 99 lashes for her reputed initial crime. Not a Farsi or Arabic speaker, when her adultery trial ended, Ashtiani didn't even know she was convicted or what her sentence was.
In recent years, Ashtiani's children assisted by Iranian émigré and non-leftist human rights groups launched a courageous campaign to save her life. Over the past year, the campaign was covered in the Western media and garnered the support of notables such as the French and Canadian prime ministers' wives as well as international film stars like Lindsay Lohan, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Robert Redford and Juliette Binoche.
Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International got on board this past summer and decried her treatment. Clinton herself gave a half sentence condemnation of Ashtiani's persecution in August. Indeed, the international attention focused on Ashtiani may have been the reason the Obama administration belatedly voiced opposition to Iran's election to the new UN women's rights council. Iran was elected by acclamation in April, but later defeated by India when a roll call vote was called.
Reeling from this criticism, Iranian authorities began backtracking. First they claimed Ashtiani's death sentence would be cancelled. Then they said she would be hanged rather than stoned. Today her fate remains unclear and her life is still in grave danger. But if pressure on Iranian authorities keeps up, there is a reasonable chance that Ashtiani's long ordeal will end in life, rather than death.
Ashtiani's case is proof that when the West makes the barbaric abuse of women an issue, the Islamic world attenuates its abuse of women. Pressure works. In contrast, an absence of pressure empowers the oppressors.
THE SECOND way that the feminists and the Left they are a part of abet Islamic oppression of women is through their animosity towards Israel. When the Shariah- besotted leaders of the Muslim world see the Western Left devote its energies to attacking Israel - the only human rights and women's rights protecting country in the Middle East - they see there is no reason for them to reconsider their willingness to tyrannize their women and girls.
Take Indonesia for example. In 2003, then Indonesian president Megawati Sukarnoputri agreed that as part of a ceasefire agreement, the separatist Aceh province was allowed to institute Shariah law as the law of the province. In 2009, the Aceh parliament passed a law making adultery punishable by stoning. On the central squares of the province that is home to 4 million, people are routinely publicly whipped for offenses against Islam.
For example, just last Friday Anis Saputra, 24, and Kiki Hanafilia, 17 each received eight lashes in a public ceremony outside a local mosque for being caught kissing in October. The two are reportedly married to other people and they apparently were given lashes rather than stoned to death because they had yet to consummate their alleged romance.
Last year the province also forbade women and girls from wearing pants. A France 24 investigation of Shariah in Aceh showed a traumatized 14 year old girl who was beset by Islamic police on her way home from school. They cut her jeans off in the middle of the street.
Yet rather than criticize Indonesia for these appalling developments, last month Obama visited Jakarta and waxed poetic about Islamic tolerance of differences and applauded Indonesia for its commitment to democracy. And while ignoring Indonesia's repressive Shariah-ruled province where Islamic oppression is the rule not the exception, Obama devoted his criticism to attacking Israel for allowing Jews to build homes in Jerusalem.

THERE IS NO doubt that attitudes that discriminate against women exist today in Western countries as well as in Israel. Women in the free world have unique challenges to overcome because of our gender. But a sense of proportion is required here. These challenges are not overwhelming, systemic or in most cases life-threatening.
On the other hand, hundreds of millions of women and girls throughout the Islamic world are daily terrorized by everyone from their families to their judges. They have no reason to believe that if challenged their rights - even their right to life - will be protected.
The fact that the ladies in Philadelphia decided to take their stand against Israel and that that Clinton and Obama attack Israel for building homes for Jews in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria while they all ignore the suffering of the women of Islam speaks volumes about the degradation of the West under the Left's social and political leadership. It also tells non-leftist women in the West that being pro-women's rights and being a feminist are increasingly mutually exclusive.

Justice Denied DePaul Prof Who Defended Israel

After years of fighting for justice, the righteous university professor victimized by academic appeasers of Islamic supremacist anti-semitic brutes lost his battle in the fight for free speech. Chalk this up to another blow to Western civilization and yet another victory for the sharia (Islamic law).

The Muslim Brotherhood and their nazi proxies prevailed.

Back in late 2004 I posted on the egregious abuse suffered by De Paul university professor Thomas Klocek, a 15-year De Paul university professor, who had engaged in "dialogue' with some Muslim student supporters of Hamas and Islamic Jihad at a student fair on campus.

He defended Israel. He questioned whether Rachel Corrie had indeed been murdered in cold blood and whether Israelis were really treating Palestinians in the same way that Hitler treated the Jews -- as the Muslim students’ literature and posters claimed. He insisted that “the Israeli Armed Forces have exercised very careful restraint in their responses to what has been almost daily suicide bombings.” Whereupon eight students descended on the single professor. A verbal melee ensued. Despite their clear superiority in numbers, the students donned the garb of victims, complaining that they were “harassed” and "threatened.” They further alleged that Klocek had made “racist remarks.” The students met with their advisors who alerted various administrative deans. The deans wasted no time capitulating to the student agitators. They apologized to the offended students and suspended Professor Klocek.

As of that writing, a lawsuit was under way. Not any more. Another stunning defeat for free speech lovers everywhere. Islamic supremacists advance yet again.

Justice denied for former DePaul Professor Thomas Klocek
For over 14 years, Thomas Klocek was a well-liked adjunct professor at DePaul University School of New Learning. One course he taught was "Critical Thinking." So it's ironic that he was essentially fired by the Chicago Catholic university after engaging in a spirited discussion about Middle Eastern politics with members of Students for Justice in Palestine and United Muslims Moving Ahead at a new students fair at DePaul's downtown campus in 2004. The groups were promoting the usual inflammatory tripe peddled by campus extremists such as comparing Israel to Nazi Germany.

Unaccustomed to critical thinking, the SJP and UMMA members complained to Klocek's deal--and Klocek became a formerDePaul adjunct professor. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) got involved--of course they sided with the Muslim groups. Outside of a mathematics professor and some campus conservatives, no one at DePaul defended Klocek. As for Klocek, a devout Catholic, he learned that standing up for Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, can be a career-ending move.

I've been covering the Klocek case for five years. He sued DePaul in the summer of 2005 for defamation. But shortly before the start of the trial, the third judge assigned to the case, a DePaul law school graduate, dismissed the suit.

His lawyers appealed, but late last month the Illinois Supreme Court decided not to hear Klocek's appeal.

Justice has been denied. Klocek is a good man who got a raw deal. I'm glad to have assisted him in getting the word out about the injustice brought upon him--and I will continue to do so.

On Monday, November 29, 2010, the Illinois Supreme Court decided not to hear Professor Thomas Klocek’s appeal, bringing an end to his five-year suit against DePaul University for destroying his reputation. The case had been litigated in the circuit court for years in front of a number of different judges: two of which ruled Klocek properly stated valid claims against DePaul; the last of which, however, unexpectedly threw the entire case out on the eve of the trial in 2009. The appellate court was unwilling to disturb any of the circuit court’s holdings, issuing a short order, rather than a published opinion, simply rubber-stamping the circuit court result.

As those who have followed the case may recall, little more than six years ago, Klocek was a well respected part-time professor at DePaul's School for New Learning who, as DePaul’s own Father Kevin Collins put it, was "more likely to talk an ear off about religious and historical fine points than mean to offend" and was "as gentle as he was opinionated and on the erudite side." This gentle and erudite man, who had enjoyed a fourteen year unblemished record of teaching diversity and culture courses to working adults at DePaul apparently talked about religious and historical fine points with the wrong groups (the Students for Justice in Palestine and the United Muslims Moving Ahead) on the wrong campus. What he understood to be a simple, albeit contentious, dialogue lasting all of five minutes with the student activists about their pet issues, turned out to be beyond DePaul's threshold for academic freedom.

The students with the help of the Council on American and Islamic Relations quickly filed complaints with the administration demanding Klocek's removal, and in a rush to a politically-correct judgment, DePaul caved. Instead of caving privately with an eye to Klocek’s rights and reputation, DePaul's administration, without a hearing or even notice to Klocek of the students' charges against him, made a public spectacle of defending the students from the professor who had dared to "dishonor" their perspective and "assault" their beliefs. Though DePaul later claimed Klocek was suspended for his conduct and not his views or his speech, Dean Susanne Dumbleton, Klocek's supervisor, ruled that "No one should ever use the role of teacher to demean the ideas of others or insist on the absoluteness of an opinion, much less press erroneous assertions."

Inspector General Calls for Vetting Muslim Clerics

It is important to point out here about the 20,000 Islamic attacks since 911 that each one had the imprimatur of a Muslim cleric.

It also bears noting that lying and deceiving to advance Islam is a religious mandate. Case in point, Imam Al-Awlaki. So the idea that Muslim clerics in the military are being vetted by the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas group ISNA is incredulous. Is it any wonder that the Fort Jihad Jihadi, Major Hasan, was an acting Muslim leader?

Stealth coup. They have all their people in strategic places.

Imam Al-Awlaki was the go-to Muslim cleric for reporters scrambling to explain Islam after 911; he was the same imam who guided the 911 Muslim attackers to commit jihad. Al-Awaki was the "spiritual adviser" to three of the hijackers who attacked America on Sept. 11, 2001. He guided the 911 jihadis, the Fort Hood Major Muslim, the Christmas day bomber. He was the imam at the respected Dar al Hijreh mosque while being the go-to Muslim for big media for information on Islam. Exactly like un-indicted co-conspirator, Hamas groups CAIR and ISNA being the go-to guys for media now.

That al-Awlaki was go-to guy for the media right after 911 best exhibits the practice of taqiyya, and taqiyya should have been the focus of the Times piece. According to one FBI agent, al-Awlaki “was at the center of the 9/11 story.”

Taqiyya, or not showing their faith openly by means of pretense, dissimulation, or concealment, is a special type of LYING that is taught and used by Shi'a Muslims, cf. Sunni Muslims and Taqiyya. "Taqiyya" (or taqiyyah) is related to the terms "taqwa'" and "taqi'" -- all have the root meaning of "guarding" something, in this case, the Islamic faith.

Taqiya is required [in Islam].

BBC Panorama Reports Teaching Hate to Youngsters

BBC News - Saudi school lessons in UK concern government

The government says it will not tolerate anti-Semitic and homophobic lessons being taught to Muslim children in the UK.

BBC Panorama found that more than 40 Saudi Students' Schools and Clubs are teaching the official Saudi national curriculum to about 5,000 pupils.

One text book shows how the hands and feet of thieves are chopped off.

The Saudi government said it had no official ties to the part-time schools and clubs and did not endorse them.

However, a building in west London where Panorama obtained one of the text books is owned by the Saudi government.

The director of education for the Saudi Students' Schools and Clubs said the Saudi Cultural Bureau, which is part of the embassy, had authority over the network.

'Hellfire'

Education Secretary Michael Gove said there was no place for the Saudi teachings with regard to Jews or homosexuals in Britain: "To my mind it doesn't seem to me that this is the sort of material that should be used in English schools."

He said in light of the BBC's findings, the school inspectorate Ofsted was looking into the possible regulation and inspection of out-of-hours schools and clubs. At present, part-time schools do not fall within Ofsted's mandate.

"Ofsted are doing some work in this area, they'll be reporting to me shortly about how we can ensure that part-time provision is better registered and better inspected in the future," Mr Gove said.

One of the text books asks children to list the "reprehensible" qualities of Jewish people. A text for younger children asks what happens to someone who dies who is not a believer in Islam - the answer given in the text book is "hellfire".

Another text describes the punishment for gay sex as death and states a difference of opinion about whether it should be carried out by stoning, burning with fire or throwing the person over a cliff.

In a book for 14-year-olds, Sharia law and its punishment for theft are explained, including detailed diagrams about how hands and feet of thieves are amputated.

My Public Library Called the Police on Me

So many issues at work here, so little time. This is yet another example of the Islamization of America and what we at SIOA are combating -- the separation of mosque and state.

This is not only a gross violation of free speech, but it involves using the library for dawah, proselytizing for Islam. If Islamic supremacists are going to use taxpayer-funded secular institutions to proselytize for Islam, Muslims must reciprocate in the spirit of "inter-faith dialogue," "mutual respect," and "mutual understanding." Mosques must open their doors to missionaries from other religions and allow their congregants the opportunity to explore Christianity and other religions and convert out of Islam without fear of death.

I want to share with a few friends what took place at my public library in Columbia, Maryland today. I saw in this article http://columbia.p...atch.com/articles/library-hosting-series-on-islamic-arts-and-sciences about an Islamic seminar taking place today. I was suspicious of propaganda so I researched the co-sponsors: The Howard County Muslim Council and the Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim Christian Understanding at Georgetown University -and this is what I found:

The HOWARD COUNTY MUSLIM COUNCIL has ties to Dar Al-Taqwa on Route 108 in Ellicott City, the county's only mosque. It has been revealed in the past that the mosque's Web site had links to an Islamic news site that carried incendiary, pro-al Qaeda stories.

"PUBLIC POLICY OBJECTIVES" of the Howard County Muslim Council is as follows and is quoted from their website:

"* Involve Muslims in the development of public policy.

*Educate Howard County School officials about the special needs of Muslims, in order to improve public school policies."

In light of the above, the speaker SUSAN DOUGLASS, a Muslim on the staff of the Prince Alaweed bin-Talal Center for Muslim Christian Understanding at Georgetown University, should be of great concern because of her radical connections and influence on public school textbooks and cirricula

I printed out the above link and info with this statement:

The Jews and Christians were allo...wed to practice their religion but had limited autonomy and were considered 2nd class citizens. They received "protection" by their Muslim rulers, but this did not occur for free. There was a specific tax called the jizya that Dhimmis had to pay to receive these benefits. Having its origin in the Qur'an, it states Dhimmis who did not pay this tax, should either convert to Islam, or face the death penalty (Qur'an 9, 29). Muslims were exempt from this tax. The jizya was not only a tax, but also a symbolic expression of subordination."

I then headed to the library with the above material. When I arrived, I saw 60-70 people, mostly non-Muslims in attendance. I was 20 minutes late and saw on the program schedule that I had just missed my very liberal County Executive, Ken Ulman, give the "Kickoff Greeting". I was alarmed when I noted that there were a couple of tables displaying proselytizing material on Islam with copies of the Quran. At this point, I decided to go make copies of the material I had brought with me. I returned to the seminar and took photos (see attached) of the display tables and took a copy of each of the brochures that were promoting the religion of Islam. The titles of the brochures were: "Islam Explained", "Concept of God in Islam", "Who is Jesus?", "The Prophet Muhammad", "The Origin of the Quran", "Human Rights in Islam", "What does Islam say about Terrorism", "Unveiling the Mystery Hijab", and one by WAMY entitled "The concept of Worship in Islam".

I questioned Meridy McCague, an employee of the library, if there have been any other programs for other religions and she said no, not in the year that she has worked there. She said that Lisa Bankman was the Library employee overseeing the seminar.
As people were leaving I stood outside the conference room and handed out my material to those who accepted it. I started to meet resistance by a few Muslims who demanded to know who was paying me to be there and what my name was. I told them I was there by own free will and I refused to give my name for safety reasons. I said I was a tax payer to the county and I was using my freedom of speech to speak out against the use of my tax dollars to support the library in proselytizing for Islam. Valerie Gross, the CEO of Howard County Libraries, acknowledged that I had a good point regarding the display of Islamic proselytizing material but told me that I needed to disperse my own material 20 feet outside the Library door and that she was calling the police. I said fine, and that I would go outside once the proselytizing material was removed from the displays. She became more demanding that I leave - so I went outside where I was verbally abused by a couple Muslims who accused me of being from the Tea Party and spreading hate and that they had the right to do what they were doing at the library. A few people who witnessed the way I was spoken to, sided with me. The police came as I was leaving and I was called back to the entrance where Valerie Gross admitted to the policeman that I had a right to freedom of speech but pointed out that I did not leave the inside of the library for 10 minutes after being ordered to leave. The officer ordered me to produce my ID and then I was ordered to leave and was told by Valerie Gross in front of the officer that I was banned from the public library from now on!

London Borough Becomes Islamic Republic

As Feared: London borough becomes 'Islamic republic'

As predicted here at Atlas, the vile Islamic supremacist, through massive voter fraud (isn't always how they get their way?), has taken the electon.

In my New York Times interview here, I repeated what I have said and thought for some time -- that the first country that will be Islamic in Europe will be the U.K. This terrible election victory just validates my prediction. An Islamic supremacist with fundamentalist links was elected Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlet council, with control of over a billion dollar budget.

Mind you, he was previously fired for extremist ties. But the Islamic machine went into overdrive and fraudulently gamed the system. Tower Hamlets moved from a conventional leader system to a mayoralty this year as a result of a campaign spearheaded by the Muslim extremsit group the IFE. IFE's Abu Talha told an undercover reporter for The Sunday Telegraph and Channel 4's Dispatches: "The mayor is going to have a lot more control. That's why we need to get someone, one of our brothers, in there. Which we will do."

And they did.

Labour: London borough becomes 'Islamic republic' Telegraph

Outside the Wellington Way polling station in Tower Hamlets yesterday, as at many other polling stations in the borough, people had to run a gauntlet of Lutfur Rahman supporters to reach the ballot box. As one Bengali woman voter went past them, we heard one of the Rahman army scolding her for her “immodest dress.”

That incident is perhaps a tiny taste of the future for Britain’s poorest borough now it has elected Mr Rahman as its first executive mayor, with almost total power over its £1 billion budget. At the count last night, one very senior figure in the Tower Hamlets Labour Party said: “It really is Britain’s Islamic republic now.”

For the last eight months – without complaint or challenge from Mr Rahman – this blog and newspaper have laid out his close links with a group of powerful local businessmen and with a Muslim supremacist body, the Islamic Forum of Europe (IFE) - which believes, in its own words, in transforming the “very infrastructure of society, its institutions, its culture, its political order and its creed… from ignorance to Islam.” Mr Rahman has refused to deny these claims.

We have told how the borough’s change from a conventional council leader to a mayoral system came about as a result of a campaign led and financed by these two groups – and how the IFE, in its words, wanted to “get one of our brothers” into the position.

We have described in detail, again without complaint or challenge by Mr Rahman, his deeply problematic two years as council leader until he was removed from that post six months ago, partly as a result of our investigations. After he secured the leadership with the help of the IFE, millions of pounds were channelled to front organisations of the IFE, a man with close links to the IFE was appointed as assistant chief executive of the council despite being unqualified for the position and the secular, white chief executive was forced out. Various efforts were made to “Islamicise” the borough. Extremist literature was stocked in Tower Hamlets’ public libraries.

It mimics that same leftist (national socialism)/Islamic (Mufti al-Husseini) alliance of the Nazis. It's the same template.

Check out any lecture given by Robert Spencer, myself, Wafa Sultan, Nonie Darwish (when not canceled due to Muslim pressure) at an American university. Or better yet, hold a rally in support of Israel, if you dare. I have been covering the anti-America, anti-Israel, pro-jihad rallies for years, and I have always benn morbidly amused by "Queers for Palestine" or "breasts not bombs": these tools would be slaughtered, stoned, or publicly hanged under Islamic law.

Turkey Admits to Jihadist and Other anti-west Activities

Now, finally, the Turkish Government has admitted that it supports and has worked closely with the terrorist support organization, Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH), which sponsored the Gaza flotilla. IHH has a long history of involvement with the jihadist movement, including those linked to al-Qaida, in the Balkans. This means that Ankara has admitted, finally, that it has been supporting the international jihadist movement against the West, and Russia.

Still, there is always one party at a divorce which observes: “So, you‟ve hated me for years.”

GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs sources in Croatia confirmed on June 14, 2010, that a key Syrian intelligence officer had been onboard the Turkish ship, the Mavi Marmara, during its attempt to break the Israeli naval blockade of the Gaza Strip on May 31, 2010. The agent, named Jaser Mohamed Sabag, was a Syrian native and naturalized Bosnian citizen.

It is understood that Sabag works directly for the Syrian Military Intelligence Service, Shu’bat al-Mukhabarat al-’Askariyya.

According to GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs sources, Sabag had worked in the Balkans liaising with regional Iranian intelligence (Vezarat-e Ettela’at va Amniat-e Keshvar: VEVAK) networks to coordinate support for Balkan jihadist networks, including the Turkish IHH (İnsan Hak ve Hürriyetleri ve İnsani Yardım Vakfı), which purchased the Marmara for $800,000 in April 2010 and — ostensibly — spearheaded the so-called Gaza flotilla.

This had, as outlined in the Defense & Foreign Affairs report of June 7, 2010, confirmed the Turkish Government’s linkage to the terrorist support work of IHH in the Balkans, during which time the jihadist terrorist groups there, using the IHH links, had been used against Western targets. But more importantly, it highlighted the links between the Turkish Government — via the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı: MİT) — with the Syrian Mukhabarat for many years in jihadist support operations, pre-dating the break-up in Turkish-Israeli relations. [FOOTNOTE: As well, (MIT) was clearly linked to the Bosnian terrorist/jihadist movement through the Kvadrat movement, which operated terrorist training in Bosnia, moving its operatives into the Russian Caucasus, to Chechnya, via safe-havens in Northern Cyprus, controlled by the Turkish Armed Forces, and then into the Russian Federation via Turkey…]

The presence of Sabag onboard the Marmara raised a number of questions about the true nature of how the flotilla had been organized, funded and directed. It indicated, at a minimum, Syrian Government involvement, and, at most, that unwittingly many of the flotilla’s passengers had been used as cover in the intelligence gambit by Damascus and Ankara.

By the first week of June 2010, Sabag had already been deported by Israeli authorities to Turkey and GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs sources reported that by June 12, 2010, Sabag had left Turkey and returned to Sarajevo, along with Mukadera Tankok-Tanovic, a Turkish national and IHH “coordinator”. The daily newspaper Fokus, published in Banja Luka, Republica Srpska, Bosnia & Herzegovina, further reported that before working with jihadist networks in the Balkans, Sabag had been in charge of “intelligence affairs” for the Abu Nidal Organization (ANO) where he established an effective working relationship with Halil Badia, the daughter of Abu Nidal (born Sabri Khalil al-Banna). Halil Badia, the report continues, assumed control of the ANO following her father’s death in Baghdad on August 16, 2002, and has since become “a main financier of the Wahabbist [sic] movement in B-H (Bosnia & Herzegovina)”.

GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs sources confirmed that while Badia had been unable to access her late father’s Swiss bank accounts — which had been blocked several years ago as part of Western counterterrorism efforts — she and her family “managed to withdraw a substantial part of the money from Austrian banks”. It was believed that a significant portion of this money had been redirected to Balkan-based networks.

That the money had flowed through Austria was not merely a coincidence: the Viennese Islamist community had, for some time, played a central support role in organizing jihadist activities in Bosnia.

The still emerging evidence of connections between Syrian intelligence operations in the Balkans, Bosnian jihadists, and the voyage of the Marmara raised serious questions for the West and particularly for NATO of which Turkey is a member about the extent to which the Turkish Erdogan Administration had been aware of these linkages when it gave permission for the Gaza flotilla to set sail. If, in fact, Prime Minister Reçep Tayyip Erdogan had known about the presence on the Marmara of a Syrian intelligence agent with deep, long-standing ties to the global jihad movement, further questions would be raised about the extent to which Istanbul has chosen to reorient its strategic posture.

However, there can be no doubt that the long-standing relationships between MIT, IHH, and the Shu’bat al-Mukhabarat al-’Askariyya — along with the relationships which all three have had with the various Saudi and Iranian organizations in the Balkans — facilitated, or at least led to, the Marmara provocation.

And so, in very recent news we see the shifting and/or tightening of Israel’s alliances in the Balkans. While Benjamin Netanyahu was visiting Greece a couple weeks ago to discuss matters of the two countries’ military alliances, these were some of the other Israel-Balkans headlines:

As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest.

I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like:
beheadings of civilians,
cowardly attacks on public buildings,
suicide murders,
murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey),
burnings of Christian churches,
the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt,
the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims,
the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called 'whores' in your culture),
the murder of film directors in Holland,
and the rioting and looting in Paris France.


This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues.

I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Muslims to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile 'protests.'

If you do not like the values of the West - see the First Amendment - you are free to leave.

I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option.

Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

They're demanding that Wichman be reprimanded, that the university impose mandatory diversity training for faculty, and mandate a seminar on hate and discrimination for all freshmen.

Now, the local chapter of CAIR has jumped into the fray.

CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good professor had the right to express his opinion.

The prize is to be awarded for Westergaard’s ‘unbending engagement for freedom of the press and freedom of opinion, and for his courage to defend these democratic values despite threats of death and violence,’ the prize committee said.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is to deliver the keynote speech at the ceremony, held in the Sanssouci palace in Potsdam and attended by editors and publishers from Europe’s top media companies.

Westergaard’s cartoon, published along with other portrayals of Mohammed in the Jyllands-Posten in 2005, caused a storm of protest when they became known in the Arab and Muslim world. Many took offence at the personal and disrespectful portrayal of the prophet.

Myriad government agencies are poised to participate in White House workshops designed to provide US taxpayer dollars to Islamic supremacist groups. On January 27 and 28, 2010, there was a two day meeting between DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano and Arab, Muslim, Sikh, and South Asian “community leaders.” Several of the individuals and organizations represented had controversial radical ties, including the Marxist-Leninist terrorist group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Hezbollah, Hamas, and others.

Ongoing infiltration: following up on these meetings were workshops in August:

"The goal is to provide the leaders of groups associated with the parent organization of Hamas and Al Qaeda (Muslim Brotherhood) with tips on cutting through “red tape” when seeking U.S. government access or money. In all 20 national Muslim groups with ties to the global Islamist organization that preaches Jihad are scheduled to participate. Their mission is to obtain cash and other resources from Uncle Sam."

While the U.S. government has kept the event quiet, it was announced in a newsletter by a Saudi-funded group (Islamic Society of North America or ISNA) that was a co-conspirator in a federal terrorist funding case a few years ago.

Kareem Shora, Senior Policy adviser, Department of Homeland Security, gathered stealth jihadists. Atlas readers are familiar with Shora. Back in 2007, I reported here that Shora (then legal adviser for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee) derided an NYPD report on home grown terrorism: "findings faulty and potentially inflammatory." Now he is at the senior level of DHS. The report identified mosques, bookstores, cafes, prisons and flop houses as what it called "radicalization incubators" that provide "extremist fodder or fuel for radicalization."

Included in these deeply disturbing meetings was Arif Alikhan, another Hamas-linked, CAIR pick and supremacist sympathizer. As deputy mayor of Los Angeles, Alikhan was instrumental in removing the terror tracking plan in LA.

While Muslim parents pack public meetings with pronouncements that 'Islam is a religion of peace,' their sons and daughters are being taught something else

Across Canada, apologists of the terror suspects repeated the same mantra. The three men arrested were portrayed as "innocent" and the wider Muslim community was positioned as the real victims of the episode. It was as if the Islamist leadership had dusted off the speaking notes from the days of the Toronto 18 trials when leader after leader stood up to claim the young men arrested were framed, not real terrorists.

As Muslim Canadians, both of us, while asking for the due judicial process to take its course, had no hesitation in condemning the rising tide of jihadi radicalism that is sweeping like a contagious disease among Muslim youth, especially of Pakistani ancestry, across Canada. However, by and large the leadership of traditional Islamist organizations and the mosque establishment repeated the now tired and cliché-ridden depiction of Muslims as the real victims.

Not a single imam that we have heard has mustered the courage to say, "The doctrine of armed jihad is defunct and inapplicable in the 21st century." Instead the same tired old clichés were repeated about Islam being a religion of peace and denouncing terrorism, while keeping mum about jihad.

Saira Rahman, a filmmaker, told the Winnipeg Free Press, "It's so very frustrating. It's very unfair -- you're demonizing communities again and creating a situation where everyone's guilty till proven innocent." She was not alone in being in denial.

From Ottawa, the epicentre of the latest terror threat, Nazira Tareen of the Ottawa Muslim Women's Organization wrote, "99.9 per cent of them (Muslims) are law abiding, hardworking, peace loving, caring and contributing citizens of Canada. ... I personally know all the imams of all the mosques in the Nation's Capital Region and all of them are totally against this type of behaviour. We are unanimous in condemning this type of behaviour." Again condemning "behaviour," but has nothing useful to say about the underlying jihadi ideology.

Obviously Tareen was not aware of the Environics Poll of 2007 that found 12 per cent of Canada's Muslims having a favourable disposition towards the Toronto 18 terrorists and 14 per cent who identified themselves with "extremists" within the Muslim community.

This means there could be as many as 100,000 Muslim Canadians who are hostile to Canada and western civilization. A scary number by any measure.

If individual Muslim Canadians were pushing the victimhood agenda, their organizations were doing no better. The Canadian Islamic Congress, which supported the introduction of Shariah law in Canada, issued a statement saying:

"Canadian Muslims, more than other citizens, are deeply concerned and disturbed ... especially about the psychological, social and emotional impact of these arrests on the wellbeing of Canadian Muslims." One was left scratching one's head: What about non-Muslim Canadians who were allegedly the real targets of these suspected terrorists? The CIC statement went further. It expressed concern about "how these arrests would be managed in Canada and what kind of impact the media reports will have on Canadian citizens of Muslim faith." Added to the spin was the accusation of journalistic "sensationalism, prejudgment, or speculation."

Unfortunately, the Muslim victimhood agenda was helped by the leader of the Liberal Party, Michael Ignatieff, who stepped into the fray by claiming that the terror suspects need to be treated as innocent. He then made this outrageous remark: "It's important for Canadians to realize in the Toronto case, the courts acquitted many people."

Not true, Mr. Ignatieff. While charges were dropped in some cases, not a single member of the Toronto terror plot tried by the courts was acquitted. Everyone who was tried before the court was either convicted or confessed. As card-carrying Liberals, we were shocked to read how our leader was buying in to the Islamist agenda.

The Ottawa arrests have links to a Montreal Mosque, another hotbed of Islamist activity. Two of the suspects attended the Islamic Community Centre Mosque in Brossard. At the mosque too the men in charge were on the defensive, claiming no knowledge of any extremist activity.

Faisal Shahabuddin, a member of the mosque's board when asked to explain how two members of the congregation had allegedly gotten themselves involved in the terror plot, stated, "Why should I explain if we don't know it's true?"

Cordoba Initiative to Subvert the West

Imam Feisal Rauf is the man who heads the Cordoba Initiative. He plans to build a Sharia-promoting Islamic complex and mosque 560 feet from where 9/11 terrorists crashed planes into the World Trade Center towers.

New Yorkers and the American public are becoming aware that there are many Islamic groups like Rauf’s who claim to be moderate, but are fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood. Imam Rauf is a radical extremist cleric who plays to the sensitivities and ignorance of those who live in the liberal/left media and academic bubble. They fall over each other praising him and attacking anyone who questions his motives. Time magazine online, in the space of two weeks, ran four articles characterizing anyone opposed to the mosque as being racist bigots.

As a Canadian, I can point with a sense of relief to an article in the Ottawa Citizen by Ms. Raheel Raza and Tarek Fatah of the Muslim Canadian Congress. The article is titled: Mischief in Manhattan – We Muslims know the Ground Zero mosque is meant as a deliberate provocation. Their words tell us what true moderate moslems sound like:

“Let’s not forget that a mosque is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims and not an inviting community centre. Most Americans are wary of mosques due to the hard core rhetoric that is used in pulpits. And rightly so. As Muslims we are dismayed that our co-religionists have such little consideration for their fellow citizens and wish to rub salt in their wounds and pretend they are applying a balm to sooth the pain.”

“As for those teary-eyed, bleeding-heart liberals such as New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and much of the media, who are blind to the Islamist agenda in North America, we understand their goodwill. Unfortunately for us, their stand is based on ignorance and guilt, and they will never in their lives have to face the tyranny of Islamism that targets, kills and maims Muslims worldwide, and is using liberalism itself to destroy liberal secular democratic societies from within.” - Ottawa Citizen

Does Time magazine rate authentic moderate muslims, like these Asian immigrants to Canada, as racist bigots also? What Raza and Fatah show us is that the Koran can be interpreted in a mild, nonpolitical way. The bad news is that the most powerful trend in Islam is the Muslim Brotherhood’s political Islam, which controls every aspect of adherents’ lives with Sharia Law. They aim to dominate the West and are active in ninety countries, where they promote a doctrine of both violent jihad and stealth jihad. Violent jihad is the terrorism we see throughout the world today. Stealth jihad is, in part, the manipulation of the press and the government in order to topple a target society or a nation from within.

The virality of information in this galloping technological age was brought home to me the other day, when I received an email tip about a Bill Kelly article in the Washington Times. Titled Mystery WTC Mosque Protest Photos Causing Internet Stir, the article featured a slideshow of photographs I made of the June 6 protest at ground zero in New York City. Odds are you have never heard of that huge historic rally because of a nearly complete media blackout on the event.

I sent an email to Mr. Kelly to thank him for publishing my photography, which he had encountered as a viral email. To my surprise, a Washington Times editor responded. She invited me to the Communities section to write a regular column.

Mr. Kelly, who is a political satirist, wrote in his column: “Sometimes a subject is so serious that even we need to take a step back and let the story tell itself. This is one of those times. … Despite public opinion, the mainstream media has virtually ignored the protests against the WTC mosque. According to internet reports, not one major TV network or camera crew covered this recent protest. … Uncredited photos of the New York protests have surfaced, bypassing the mainstream media’s unbalanced reporting, and have since caused a stir on the internet. Few words are necessary. The photos of the mystery photographer speak louder than any words ever could.”

Kelly wrote those words on August 12, more than two months after the “feminist AynRandian” blogger and human-rights activist Pamela Geller led a massive rally at Ground Zero in New York. The purpose of that rally was to draw attention to grassroots opposition aimed at the proposed mega-mosque headed by the controversial Imam Feisal Rauf. This past week, the story that the dominant liberal establishment media tried to keep from you has gone international and become one of the defining issues of recent times.

With a recent Rasmussen poll showing 62% of Americans are against the 13 story mosque, Geller’s efforts to inform public opinion have been more than vindicated as mainstream. The 38% who support Rauf’s plans include the Democrat leadership, the elite mainstream media and the radical 1960s left, who together have formed an arrogant, chauvinistic machine, pushing the mosque project and vilifying those who oppose it.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf: "We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida has on its hands of innocent non Muslims. You may remember that the US-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations. And when Madeleine Albright, who has become a friend of mine over the last couple of years, when she was Secretary of State and was asked whether this was worth it, said it was worth it.

It is not surprising that the State Department was aware of Rauf's extremist rhetoric, a story broken at Atlas yesterday (astounding but not surprising). State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley even mentions me derisively as "a blogger." What is surprising is their acknowledgment of the remarks and their sanctioning of such anti-American, pro-jihadist rhetoric. I did not take these remarks out of context. I ran the whole transcript. What they are trying to do is create a Shirley Sherrod moment -- as if to say the imam didn't mean what he said. It worked with Sherrod, so they figure ..........

But this is the Imam's own words. And he meant what he said. The State Department has become a wing of the stealth jihad. They are funding his trip to the Middle East. Think about that.

Stop the Overt "Stealth" Jihad in the USA

It's only stealthy because we are too naive, too politically correct and too ignorant of the real ideology of this bellicose, despotic socio-political movement that hides under the guise of being a religion, which historically kills, rapes and has one aim - TO CREATE A GLOBAL CALIPHATE which then rules the world, using "sharia" (Islamic religious law) to govern everyone and where being a non-Moslem makes you a second class being, who has to pay the ruling Islamic administration a special "permission to live" tax without which non-Moslems are NOT ALLOWED to exist (stay alive).

While there are millions and millions of wonderful peaceful Moslems, Islam itself is NOT a religion of peace, nor preaches peace, but rather of human body pieces, many of which are cut off as punishment for infractions of Islamic tenets. Often after the victim, specially a woman, has been mercilessly whipped often nearly to death.

Recently a pregnant woman in Afghanistan, accused of adultery (though her husband had long been dead) was condemned according to sharia law to receiving 200 lashes. No! That horror was not all, She was then shot in the chest and head to complete the religious court's verdict. (Probably happy to die by that point in time).

This barbaric behavior, similar to some Biblical Old Testament edicts from a savage, uncivilized 2,000+ years ago, SHALL appear in a neighborhood near you, probably within your lifetime as Sharia Law gets introduced and even now promoted by our VERY Moslem Oba-Abdullah-Hussein-SOEBARKAH (his new family name which appeared on his mother's passport application ) usurper of the White House.

The seeds of this relentless Jihadi "cancer" have been introduced into the USA and in Londonistan, Eurabia have grown to alarming proportions where it is already killing parts of it's host bodies (European nations).

Again it is not Moslems but the fanatical jihadi leaders who are at fault but for non-Moslems the jihadis are the tail that wags the dog and brings oppression and death and mutilation under the guise of Islam. Even to other Moslems.

Take note that to force women to cover their faces, the Islamic regime in Iran has issued orders to their Morals Police and other Suppression Authorities to arrest and imprison women who have a sun-tanned face!

This is in a country where the sun shines strongly for much of the year and simply being outside the home in daily life leads to getting a tanned face!

Don't expect something less in your country or neighborhood once the cancer finds roots and spreads its deadly tentacles in our western nations.

Just a matter of time, folks, just a matter of time unless you get off your butts and examine, analyse and express your opinions on what is being force fed to us.

Under Obama, Moslems in the USA have become a privileged and protected upper-class above and beyond any Christian and granted a string of immunities from laws and regulations the rest of us are forced to follow.

For example, Moslems in Burkhas are not required to show their faces at airport check points - not even to women employees, who fear official reprimand or termination or being sued if they insist - even though it could be a male terrorist under that garb or fugitive from justice escaping our ability to capture them by using this disguise. (As is often tried by men in Afghanistan or Pakistan trying to escape arrest).
