Two Muslims Caught with Mock Bombs on Chi Flight
Why were these aspiring jihadis let on the plane when their luggage contained "mock bombs?" They were obviously trying to raise as many red flags as possible. This raises many questions. (Thanks to Joe)
ABC News Exclusive: Two Men on United Flight from Chicago Arrested on 'Preparation of a Terrorist Attack' in Amsterdam
Two men taken off a Chicago-to-Amsterdam United Airlines flight in the Netherlands have been charged by Dutch police with "preparation of a terrorist attack," U.S. law enforcement officials tell ABC News.
U.S. officials said the two appeared to be travelling with what were termed "mock bombs" in their luggage. "This was almost certainly a dry run, a test," said one senior law enforcement official.
A spokesman for the Dutch public prosecutor, Ernst Koelman, confirmed the two men were arrested this morning and said "the investigation is ongoing." He said the arrests were made "at the request of American authorities."
The two were allowed to board the flight at O'Hare airport last night despite security concerns surrounding one of them, the officials said.
The men were identified as Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, of Detroit, MI, and Hezem al Murisi, the officials said. A neighbor of al Soofi told ABC News he is from Yemen.
Airport security screeners in Birmingham, Alabama first stopped al Soofi and referred him to additional screening because of what officials said was his "bulky clothing."
In addition, officials said, al Soofi was found to be carrying $7,000 in cash and a check of his luggage found a cell phone taped to a Pepto-Bismol bottle, three cell phones taped together, several watches taped together, a box cutter and three large knives. Officials said there was no indication of explosives and he and his luggage were cleared for the flight from Birmingham to Chicago O'Hare.
Once in Chicago, officials say they learned al Soofi checked his luggage on a flight to Washington's Dulles airport for connections on flights to Dubai and then Yemen, even though he did not board the flight himself.
Instead, officials say, al Soofi was joined by the second man, Al Murisi, and boarded the United flight from Chicago to Amsterdam.
When Customs and Border officials learned al Soofi was not on the flight from Dulles to Dubai, the plane was ordered to return to the gate so his luggage could be removed. Officials said additional screening found no evidence of explosives.
The two men were detained by Dutch authorities when the United flight landed in Amsterdam, according to the officials.

Italy does not Recognize Islam as a Religion
Rome, 27 August (AKI) - Mosques in Italy will not receive a share of income tax revenue the Italian government allocates to religious faiths each year. Hindu and Buddhist temples, Greek Orthodox churches and Jehovah's Witnesses will be eligible for the funds, according to a bill approved by the Italian cabinet in May and still must be approved by parliament.
Until now, the government had earmarked 8 percent of income tax revenue for Italy's established churches. The great majority of these funds go to the Catholic Church, although if they wish, individual tax payers may elect to give the money to charities and cultural projects instead.
The head of COREIS, one of Italy's largest Muslim groups, Yahya Pallavicini, said he was bitter that Islam had been denied the revenue from Italian income tax.
"Work should be begun on legally recognising those moderate Muslims who have for years shown themselves to be reliable interlocutors who are free of and fundamentalist ideology," he said.
Islam is not an established religion in Italy and there is only one official mosque in the country, Rome's Grand Mosque. Politicians from the ruling coalition cite radical imams, polygamy and failure to uphold women's rights by Muslims immigrants as obstacles to recognising Islam as an official religion in Italy.
Until now, only the Catholic Church, Judaism and other established churches including Lutherans, Evangelists, Waldensians and 7th-day Adventists have received the income tax revenue from the Itallain government.

The Flight 93 Memorial is a Terrorist Mosque
The other Ground Zero mosque is not in New York. The other Ground Zero mosque is in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at the site where a group of American heroes, upon hearing from their loved ones that their plane was not being hijacked but being used as a missile by Muslim terrorists to take out the Capitol or the White House, seized control of the aircraft in a life and death struggle. They saved the nation's capital, but not themselves.
How is their courage and sacrifice being rewarded? With a huge crescent ...... "of embrace." It is an outrage.
I have been blogging on the Flight 93 Islamic Crescent Memorial for well over four years, but the media blackout was overwhelming. Perhaps with a nation roused from its slumber by the Ground Zero mega mosque, the Islamic Crescent memorial will get the attention and rebuke it so richly deserves.

I served on the 2005 2nd jury that was commissioned to select a design honoring the passengers and crew on Flight 93. The public submitted over 1100 designs. The first jury went through those 1100 designs and selected 5 designs that were presented to the 2nd jury.
When I saw Crescent of Embrace, I immediately saw the Islamic symbols. I spoke out against the design and explained my reasons to the other members of the jury. The vote was taken, 9 for the Crescent of Embrace and 6 against that design. That vote was not unanimous.
There were 4 excellent designs left; there was absolutely no reason to select a design that even suggested Islamic symbols.
I knew that the public would agree with me when they saw the Crescent of Embrace design. They did, but our government would not listen or investigate our claims. All of our letters ended up in the same hands, the National Park Service. We can’t give up; we must stop this mosque being built in Shanksville, as well as the one in New York.

The Last Refuge of the Liberal - Krauthammer
Liberalism under siege is an ugly sight indeed. Just yesterday it was all hope and change and returning power to the people. But the people have proved so disappointing. Their recalcitrance has, in only 19 months, turned the predicted 40-year liberal ascendancy (James Carville) into a full retreat. Ah, the people, the little people, the small-town people, the “bitter” people, as Barack Obama in an unguarded moment once memorably called them, clinging “to guns or religion or” — this part is less remembered — “antipathy toward people who aren’t like them.”
That’s a polite way of saying: clinging to bigotry. And promiscuous charges of bigotry are precisely how our current rulers and their vast media auxiliary react to an obstreperous citizenry that insists on incorrect thinking.
● Resistance to the vast expansion of government power, intrusiveness, and debt, as represented by the tea-party movement? Why, racist resentment toward a black president.
● Disgust and alarm with the federal government’s unwillingness to curb illegal immigration, as crystallized in the Arizona law? Nativism.
● Opposition to the most radical redefinition of marriage in human history, as expressed in Proposition 8 in California? Homophobia.
● Opposition to a 15-story Islamic center and mosque near Ground Zero? Islamophobia.
Now we know why the country has become “ungovernable,” last year’s excuse for the Democrats’ failure of governance: Who can possibly govern a nation of racist, nativist, homophobic Islamophobes?
Note what connects these issues. In every one, liberals have lost the argument in the court of public opinion. Majorities — often lopsided majorities — oppose President Obama’s social-democratic agenda (e.g., the stimulus, Obamacare), support the Arizona law, oppose gay marriage, and reject a Ground Zero mosque.
What’s a liberal to do? Pull out the bigotry charge, the trump that preempts debate and gives no credit to the seriousness and substance of the contrary argument. The most venerable of these trumps is, of course, the race card. When the tea party arose, a spontaneous, leaderless, and perfectly natural (and traditionally American) reaction to the vast expansion of government intrinsic to the president’s proudly proclaimed transformational agenda, the liberal commentariat cast it as a mob of angry white yahoos disguising their antipathy to a black president by cleverly speaking in economic terms.
Then came Arizona and SB 1070. It seems impossible for the Left to believe that people of good will could hold that: (a) Illegal immigration should be illegal; (b) the federal government should not hold border enforcement hostage to comprehensive reform, i.e., amnesty; and (c) every country has the right to determine the composition of its immigrant population.
As for Proposition 8, is it so hard to see why people might believe that a single judge overturning the will of 7 million voters is an affront to democracy? And that seeing merit in retaining the structure of the most ancient and fundamental of all social institutions is something other than an alleged hatred of gays — particularly since the opposite-gender requirement has characterized virtually every society in all the millennia until just a few years ago?
And now the Ground Zero mosque. The intelligentsia is near unanimous that the only possible ground for opposition is bigotry toward Muslims. This smug attribution of bigotry to two-thirds of the population hinges on the insistence of a complete lack of connection between Islam and radical Islam, a proposition that dovetails perfectly with the Obama administration’s pretense that we are at war with nothing more than “violent extremists” of inscrutable motive and indiscernible belief. Those who reject this as both ridiculous and politically correct (an admitted redundancy) are declared Islamophobes, the ad hominem du jour.
It is a measure of the corruption of liberal thought and the collapse of its self-confidence that, finding itself so widely repudiated, it resorts reflexively to the cheapest race-baiting (in a colorful variety of forms). Indeed, how can one reason with a nation of pitchfork-wielding mobs brimming with “antipathy toward people who aren’t like them” — blacks, Hispanics, gays, and Muslims — a nation that is, as Michelle Obama once put it succinctly, “just downright mean”?
The Democrats are going to get beaten badly in November. Not just because the economy is ailing. And not just because Obama overread his mandate in governing too far left. But because a comeuppance is due the arrogant elites whose undisguised contempt for the great unwashed prevents them from conceding a modicum of serious thought to those who dare oppose them.

Why the sudden daring?
Because Hezbollah now largely controls Lebanon, and Iran owns Hezbollah, and both are feeling their oats. Initiating the skirmish with Israel was of a piece with the boast by Ahmadinejad’s chief of staff just three days earlier that Iran could build a nuclear bomb. According to a semiofficial Iranian news agency, the chief of staff elaborated: “Today . . . we are presented with an opportunity to alter world management.” In this usage, “world management” means the same thing that the Soviets used to call the “correlation of forces.” In the face of such an opportunity, he continued, “confining ourselves to small steps, while less costly, is not right.” And as Patrick Clawson of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, the estimable Iran expert who brought these comments to light, explains, the chief of staff’s “reported remarks were full of comments about how this moment is a turning point in world history — one in which international arrogance can be replaced by a new global management, if only Iran makes the necessary effort.”
Some reports say Iran wants to avoid a new war between Hezbollah and Israel for now, preferring to keep the vast arsenal it has placed on Israel’s borders at the ready for retaliation against any strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. This makes sense, and if it is true, it makes this week’s events all the more ominous.
Reportedly, the commander of the unit that attacked the Israelis is a Shiite — sympathetic to Hezbollah. Conceivably, the Lebanese deliberately staged the incident to heat up the border in order to deflect the UN investigation of the murder of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, which reportedly is leading directly to the doorsteps of the Syrian government and Hezbollah. Or possibly, it was an act of pure bravado.
But either way, this aggression and the Iranian aide’s speech both indicate that the region’s radical, anti-American forces are growing bolder. This is an inevitable result of America’s projection of weakness and uncertainty, the essence of Obama’s foreign policy, expecially toward our Middle Eastern enemies.

Imam Rauf Insists non-Muslims Must Submit to Islamic Terror
Back in January in Malaysia, churches were bombed and burned by Muslims over the use of the word "allah" by non-Muslims.
I reported the horrific story out of Malaysia, where numerous churches were burned over a court ruling that allowed a Catholic newspaper to use Allah in its Malay-language editions. Muslims rioted at mosques and set churches on fire.
I think it is critical for Americans to know how the "moderate" Imam of the Ground Zero Islamic Supremacist mosque advised the Christian community to submit to Islamic dominance, violence and terror.
Seeking harmony in Malaysia

Yes, it is true that Allah is the Arabic word for God and that Arab Christians use the word Allah when they refer to God. And yes, it is true that under freedom of speech and freedom of religion, one should be able to refer to the supreme deity any way one wants.

My message to the Christian community in Malaysia is that using the word Allah to mean the Christian God may be theologically and legally correct, but in the context of Malaysia, it is socially provocative. If you want to have influence with people in Malaysia, you must find a way to convey your message without provoking this kind of response.
If you want to reach the Malays, then use the Malay word for God, which is Tuhan.
Fire bombing churches? From the beginning of Islam, the Prophet said our faith requires us as Muslims to protect houses of worship of all other faith traditions. Islam was able to spread throughout the world, not only because of its own ideas, but also because it protected people’s rights to practise religion freely.

I reported the horrific story out of Malaysia, where numerous churches were burned over a court ruling that allowed a Catholic newspaper to use Allah in its Malay-language editions. Muslims rioted at mosques and set churches on fire.
I think it is critical for Americans to know how the "moderate" Imam of the Ground Zero Islamic Supremacist mosque advised the Christian community to submit to Islamic dominance, violence and terror.

Yes, it is true that Allah is the Arabic word for God and that Arab Christians use the word Allah when they refer to God. And yes, it is true that under freedom of speech and freedom of religion, one should be able to refer to the supreme deity any way one wants.

The New York Post has since updated its original story -- removing any mention of anti-Muslim slurs. A police source also tells the Post that when found by worshipers, Rivera said "My sister's dead."
Late Late Update: The NYPD now confirms to TPM that the incident is not being investigated as bias-related. The NYPD said members of the mosque stated that Rivera did not make biased comments during the incident.

I’m sure this has absolutely nothing to do with the non-stop anti-Muslim hate speech pouring out of Fox News, right wing websites, talk radio and shrieking harpy Pamela Geller: Drunken man urinates on mosque floor.
A drunk barged into a Queens mosque last night and shouted anti-Muslim slurs as he urinated on prayer rugs, cops and witnesses said.
Evening prayers were disrupted at the Iman Mosque on Steinway Street in Astoria when the unhinged man “came in with a beer bottle in his hands, clearly very intoxicated,” said Mustapha Sadouki, who was attending services.
“He fumbled over to our rugs where people were praying” and then committed the despicable desecration, Sadouki said,
The man, identified by cops as Omar Rivera, also allegedly shouted slurs, calling the worshippers “terrorists.”
Two men managed to subdue him. They put him a back room and called 911.

Canadian Jihad Explosives Group Found by RCMP
The RCMP and CSIS have uncovered three more Islamic terrorist plotters in Ottawa and London, Ontario. They discovered over 50 circuit boards used for detonating IEDs, along with videos, drawings, books, schematics and electronic equipment to create an IED.
Ottawa -On Thursday, August 26th, 2010, the “A” Division RCMP held a press conference with regards to the arrest of three Ontario residents by the Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (AINSET) - two Ottawa residents, named Hiva Mohammad Alizadeh and Misbahuddin Ahmed and a London Ontario resident named Khurram Syed Sher, in relation to terrorist offences.
AINSET investigators have grounds to believe that Alizadeh, Ahmed and Sher are part of a domestic terrorist group operating in Canada, while Alizadeh is also a member of and remains in contact with a terrorist group with links to the conflict in Afghanistan. Alizadeh faces additional charges of possessing explosive substance with illicit intent. The three are also charged in conspiring with James Lara, Rizgar Alizadeh and Zakaria Mamosta and persons unknown in Canada, Iran, Afghanistan, Dubai and Pakistan, to commit an indictable offence. Part of the decision to make the arrests at this time was to prevent the suspects from providing financial support to terrorist counterparts for the purchase of weapons, which would in turn be used against coalition forces and Canadian troops.

US Govt Spends $26m to Renovate Mosques in Dozens of Nations
The Burlington Coat Factory was purchased by the Cordoba Initiative at a bargain price. Its value plummeted from 19 million to less than 5 million when it was rendered uninhabitable by the terrorist attacks of 9/11, 2001. A huge chunk of airplane landing gear (see Geller with photo above) crashed through the roof and straight down through several of the upper floors of the building. The entire area was coated by a layer of DNA-laden dust and debris, which was several feet deep on some streets. In fact, Imam Rauf’s book What’s Right with Islam is What’s Right with America, was first released in Malaysia under the ghoulish title A Call to Prayer from the World Trade Center Rubble.
Abd Al-Rahman Al-Rashed, the director-general of Al-Arabiya TV, wrote that the Ground Zero Mosque will become “a monument to those who committed the crime … I do not think that the majority of Muslims want to build a monument or a place of worship that tomorrow may become a source of pride for the terrorists and their Muslim followers…” Washington Times
Rauf’s building, even in ruins, is now an active mosque with 400 to 500 men attending worship services on Fridays. Imam Rauf will not say where the funding will come from and has refused to rule out Saudi or Iranian money. 80% of mosques in the U.S. are controlled by Wahhabis. The deeds are held by NAIT (The Islamic Association of Islamic Trusts) which is a Saudi funded Fannie Mae for mosque building. That’s the reality and it’s those types of mosques that attract and produce terrorists. Two years ago this month the NYPD issued a report warning that Wahhabi mosques in America were incubators for “homegrown” Islamic radicals.
Separation of church (mosque) and state in America should be applied to foreign states like Saudi Arabia also. This comes at a time when it has been disclosed that the U. S, State Dept. is spending 26 million dollars renovating mosques in a dozens of countries.
Cordoba House Has a Long and Violent History
Imam Rauf originally named the proposed Islamic center/mosque Cordoba House. That name has historic significance for Islamists. It refers to Cordoba, Spain, which was occupied by muslim invaders for three centuries. After 800 hundred of years of war, Spanish armies forced the muslims out of Spain in 1492. While occupying Cordoba, the Islamic conquerers built an architectural wonder of a mosque over that city’s main Catholic church. Muslims have vowed ever since their expulsion to retake Spain, claiming that it is their rightful Islamic land. Once muslim, forever muslim.
The greatest domed church ever built in Christendom, the Hagia Sofia in Constantinople, was converted into a mosque after the fall of that city to muslim forces in 1453. In India, countless Hindu temples were razed and their stones used by muslim invaders to build mosques which still dominate ancient Hindu holy sites today.
To be fair, one must acknowledge that this is exactly what Constantine the Great and later Roman emperors did, after considerable bloodletting, when they replaced pagan temples with Christian churches. The Spanish in the New World also built many churches on the sites of Mayan, Aztec and Inca temples. This is one aspect of supercessionism. Supercessionism has no place in the modern world, and should be seen for what it is: an ancient pretext for conquest that should be banished to the dustbin of history.
But modern Islamists don’t see it that way. In 1999, in Nazareth there was an attempt to build a huge mosque directly beside the Church of the Annunciation. Muslims bought up adjacent land, and with Israel’s approval, began building a mosque whose minarets would tower over the Catholic church. This caused an uproar from Christians worldwide and led Israel to rescind construction permission in 2002. In the Nazareth case most Islamic leaders were also against the project.
In 2008, the English people were shocked to learn that land had been purchased to build Europe’s largest mosque adjacent to the 2012 Olympic Stadium in London. Public opposition against the proposed mosque was so great that planners “missed some deadlines” and finally “let the idea die”. This brings us to the Burlington Coat Factory, site of the proposed Ground Zero mega-mosque.
Cordoba Initiative to Subvert the West

Imam Feisal Rauf is the man who heads the Cordoba Initiative. He plans to build a Sharia-promoting Islamic complex and mosque 560 feet from where 9/11 terrorists crashed planes into the World Trade Center towers.
New Yorkers and the American public are becoming aware that there are many Islamic groups like Rauf’s who claim to be moderate, but are fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood. Imam Rauf is a radical extremist cleric who plays to the sensitivities and ignorance of those who live in the liberal/left media and academic bubble. They fall over each other praising him and attacking anyone who questions his motives. Time magazine online, in the space of two weeks, ran four articles characterizing anyone opposed to the mosque as being racist bigots.
As a Canadian, I can point with a sense of relief to an article in the Ottawa Citizen by Ms. Raheel Raza and Tarek Fatah of the Muslim Canadian Congress. The article is titled: Mischief in Manhattan – We Muslims know the Ground Zero mosque is meant as a deliberate provocation. Their words tell us what true moderate moslems sound like:
“Let’s not forget that a mosque is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims and not an inviting community centre. Most Americans are wary of mosques due to the hard core rhetoric that is used in pulpits. And rightly so. As Muslims we are dismayed that our co-religionists have such little consideration for their fellow citizens and wish to rub salt in their wounds and pretend they are applying a balm to sooth the pain.”
“As for those teary-eyed, bleeding-heart liberals such as New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and much of the media, who are blind to the Islamist agenda in North America, we understand their goodwill. Unfortunately for us, their stand is based on ignorance and guilt, and they will never in their lives have to face the tyranny of Islamism that targets, kills and maims Muslims worldwide, and is using liberalism itself to destroy liberal secular democratic societies from within.” - Ottawa Citizen
Does Time magazine rate authentic moderate muslims, like these Asian immigrants to Canada, as racist bigots also? What Raza and Fatah show us is that the Koran can be interpreted in a mild, nonpolitical way. The bad news is that the most powerful trend in Islam is the Muslim Brotherhood’s political Islam, which controls every aspect of adherents’ lives with Sharia Law. They aim to dominate the West and are active in ninety countries, where they promote a doctrine of both violent jihad and stealth jihad. Violent jihad is the terrorism we see throughout the world today. Stealth jihad is, in part, the manipulation of the press and the government in order to topple a target society or a nation from within.

The virality of information in this galloping technological age was brought home to me the other day, when I received an email tip about a Bill Kelly article in the Washington Times. Titled Mystery WTC Mosque Protest Photos Causing Internet Stir, the article featured a slideshow of photographs I made of the June 6 protest at ground zero in New York City. Odds are you have never heard of that huge historic rally because of a nearly complete media blackout on the event.
I sent an email to Mr. Kelly to thank him for publishing my photography, which he had encountered as a viral email. To my surprise, a Washington Times editor responded. She invited me to the Communities section to write a regular column.
Mr. Kelly, who is a political satirist, wrote in his column: “Sometimes a subject is so serious that even we need to take a step back and let the story tell itself. This is one of those times. … Despite public opinion, the mainstream media has virtually ignored the protests against the WTC mosque. According to internet reports, not one major TV network or camera crew covered this recent protest. … Uncredited photos of the New York protests have surfaced, bypassing the mainstream media’s unbalanced reporting, and have since caused a stir on the internet. Few words are necessary. The photos of the mystery photographer speak louder than any words ever could.”

Kelly wrote those words on August 12, more than two months after the “feminist AynRandian” blogger and human-rights activist Pamela Geller led a massive rally at Ground Zero in New York. The purpose of that rally was to draw attention to grassroots opposition aimed at the proposed mega-mosque headed by the controversial Imam Feisal Rauf. This past week, the story that the dominant liberal establishment media tried to keep from you has gone international and become one of the defining issues of recent times.
With a recent Rasmussen poll showing 62% of Americans are against the 13 story mosque, Geller’s efforts to inform public opinion have been more than vindicated as mainstream. The 38% who support Rauf’s plans include the Democrat leadership, the elite mainstream media and the radical 1960s left, who together have formed an arrogant, chauvinistic machine, pushing the mosque project and vilifying those who oppose it.

This photograph shows that, at last, redevelopment is underway at Ground Zero. The Cordoba House site on a street to the left of this photo. It is closer to me than the trees on the other side of the pit in this image. St. Paul’s chapel can be seen nestled amongst the trees of the ancient graveyard. Built in 1766, it is the oldest continuously occupied building in New York City. It remained undamaged as the Twin Towers collapsed just at the graveyard’s wrought iron gate. When built, it was surrounded by farmland and orchards and considered a remote “country church” to serve parishioners living on the edge of town. I am alarmed by an experience I had with employees of ABC News during a demonstration against the proposed Ground Zero Mosque in New York on Sunday, August 22, 2010.
As the rally concluded, thousands of the participants marched the one block from the rally site to the actual site of Ground Zero.
It was there that I noticed a man in a black shirt with a phone camera, aggressively questioning a gentleman with a sign which read “No Sharia Here.” This man was haranguing the gentleman with the sign. A reasonable person would have recognized it as provocation, which exceeded the bounds of any legitimate interview technique.

His line of questioning was very aggressive, disrespectful and condescending. He did not like the gentlemen's answers and pushed the point: Why do you feel threatened? What are you afraid of? Why can’t you answer my questions?---type of thing.
I took the attached photos after witnessing this inappropriate and excessive behavior. I originally thought the man in black was a supporter of the mosque or some kind of fringe activist. At that point, I did not know his true identity.
A cameraman was standing nearby watching. I asked him who he worked for--he said ABC News. I then asked if the man in the black shirt was with him. The ABC cameraman said yes.
Later, I observed the man in the black shirt getting into the ABC News truck and putting on the sound equipment.
At that point, it became clear the man in the black shirt was also an employee of ABC News. The ABC cameraman also witnessed his colleague’s aggressive behavior –and did nothing to stop him.
Clearly, this ABC News employee was attempting to provoke a confrontation with participants, so ABC News cameras could record it and then use the footage. He was, quite literally, attempting to stage and “make” news.
By anyone’s standards, this exceeds the role of a journalist who is supposed to seek facts, truth, etc., in explaining the disagreement over the mosque.
Clearly, this man has a point-of-view, and he attempted to use the cover of ABC News to advance his personal views. Who else knew about this attempt to “make news” or encouraged such behavior? Was his superior/producer involved? What is the policy of ABC News concerning such behavior? If events are too slow or uninteresting, do ABC News personnel have a responsibility to spice them up by provoking the participants?
I am deeply offended that representatives of ABC News attempt to stage manage and color such serious public policy debates, treating it like Saturday morning wrestling, and then present it as factual reporting each night in American living rooms.
I strongly recommend that both these ABC News employees be fired. There should be no place in journalism for people who behave this way and use their positions as journalists as cover for advancing their personal agenda or the agenda of their bosses.

How deranged is the left? The slasher of Muslims works for the Cordoba/Park 51. This is what is building an Islamic supremacist mosque on Ground Zero. The only reason we know who this human filth is and who he worked for because of the brave and brilliant cab driver who, despite being slashed multiple times, locked this savage in the back of his cab.
Can you imagine if the would be Cordoba murderer got away. They would be hanging us in the public square as we speak.

Obama Lied; Will Israelis Die?
On Friday, I reported that Israel would not bomb the Bushehr nuclear reactor or any other Iranian facility - for now - because the Obama administration had 'convinced' Israel that the Iranians will not have nuclear weapons for at least another twelve months. Gary Milhollin, the executive director of the Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control, writes that Obama (or his administration) lied. Iran's nuclear clock has not slowed (Hat Tip: Yochanan).
The clock is still ticking, vigorously. By the beginning of this year, Iran had produced enough low-enriched uranium to fuel two nuclear weapons if the uranium were further enriched to weapon-grade. By now, Iran has added almost enough of this low-enriched uranium to fuel a third weapon, and by the middle of next year (at the current production rate), it will probably produce enough to fuel a fourth. To make matters worse, in February, the Iran started to further enrich this uranium to a higher level, a level at which the Islamic Republic will have accomplished 90 percent of the work needed to raise its enrichment to weapon-grade. All this is happening at a time when Iran is successfully fielding ballistic missiles that can carry a nuclear payload far enough to reach Israel.
To allay fears about Iran's progress, the administration is claiming that it could take Tehran as much as a year to raise its low-enriched uranium to weapon-grade. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), while acknowledging that it could, indeed, take this long, says also that it could take as little as three months. Theoretical calculations based on Iran's known capacity support the IAEA's lower figure. There is also the risk that Iran has one or more secret centrifuge sites (it was caught building one recently). If even one such site exists, the administration's estimate -- based on the sites that we know exist -- becomes meaningless.
But why quibble about how long the final phase of bomb making might take? Instead, we should keep our eyes on the big fact here, which is that Iran is fast approaching the status of a "virtual" nuclear weapon state -- one with the ability to kick out UN inspectors and build a handful of nuclear warheads.

Arab Beliefs Unchanged by Obama
Obama Bowing to King Abdullah of Jordan
Three weeks ago, I blogged the results of a Zogby poll of Arab public opinion that showed disappointment with President Obama. Herbert London works through some of the implications of that poll.
First is the obvious conclusion that the adjective moderate hasn't any place in the Middle East, where one man's moderate is another man's radical. The assumption that President Obama's Cairo speech changed attitudes in the Arab world is certainly not borne out by the polling data.
Second, whatever change in tilt the present administration has given to the Israel-Palestinian question, negative attitudes to Israel persist, and it is unlikely this will change substantially as long as Israel exists.
Third, despite the rhetorical shift in Middle East policy reflected in President Obama's attitude and gestures, there is relatively little change in the Arab attitude about Obama and Bush. Considering the hoopla given to policy shifts, it is remarkable that the Arab man on the street retains essentially the same position toward the Unites States that he held two years ago – pre-Bush.
Fourth, despite the imperial aims of Iran and its threats against Sunni-dominated states, Arabs believe that the U.S. is a greater threat to their societies by a factor of 10.
Fifth, it is remarkable that not one moderate leader in the Arab world, alas even in the non-Arab world, makes the list of most admired figures.
Read the whole thing, but the most important conclusion is this one:
The effort to appease, flatter and buy off has not worked. The notion that Obama represents a new chapter in Middle East history is regarded as mythology. And perhaps the most useless expression in the English language is "Middle East Peace Process." There cannot be a peace as long as Israel is regarded as a greater threat than Iran.
Too bad the Obami won't listen.

Imam Rauf's One State Solution for Israel
In case any of you hadn't figured it out yet....
Imam Rauf has a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian problem. It is not the two-state solution supported by the United States, Israel, and the Quartet. No, he believes that the “one-state solution is a more coherent one than a two-state solution.” In other words, a unitary Arab state in all of the old Palestine Mandate, the end of Israel as a Jewish state, with a Jewish minority living under the control of radical Islamists who will treat them as dhimmi.
So why is the State Department sending him to the Middle East? State Department spokesman Philip Crowley explained to Morning Joe on Monday:
“Rauf is a moderate Muslim figure here in the United States” who preaches “religious tolerance throughout the world.” Crowley went on when asked whether or not Americans should trust Imam Rauf, that “we send 1200 people” on these tours, and “50 of them are clerics.” We don’t expect they will agree with U.S. policy.” But they are all people with “broad experience” and thus help foreign audiences “understand the United States.”
So we have our answer. Rauf is the Obama administration’s and the State Department’s man in the Middle East, sent to assure his audiences that the US will be sensitive to their needs, and is ever ready to appease them in the interests of “peace.” We do all this, while the Imam tells his audiences quite the opposite .” Like them, he wants the destruction of Israel, rationalizes terrorism and accuses the United States of real terrorism against Muslims, while seeking to have his fellow Americans accept the Islamic theocracy as the regime he says is favored by the people of Iran.
How much longer can the fiction be maintained that this man and his proposed Ground Zero mosque is a moderate and a man of peace?
It has been maintained for too long already.

WASHINGTON - State Department officials say they are aware of the controversial remarks Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf made in 2005. Rauf is the Imam of the controversial so-called Ground Zero mosque and is presently on a State Department funded outreach tour of Middle Eastern countries.
During a 2005 conference in Australia, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf compared the United States to Al Qaeda and said, "We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than Al Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims."
Rauf made the comments while speaking at the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Center during a question and answer session, as part of what sponsors say was a dialogue to improve relations between America and the Muslim world.
Rauf added, "You remember that the U.S. led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations."
"We are aware of those remarks," said State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley. "I would just caution any of you that choose to write on this that once again you have a case where a blogger has pulled out one passage from a very lengthy speech, if you read the entire speech, you will discover exactly why we think he is rightfully participating in this international speaking tour."
On the substance of Rauf's 2005 accusations, none other than former President Bill Clinton has defended the sanctions, some of which took place during his years in the White House. Clinton and other diplomats assert that Saddam Hussein's regime corrupted the sanctions and denied humanitarian aid to his own people.
Crowley also revealed Rauf's activities over the next few days, which the State Department had been reluctant to do before Tuesday.

The Huffington Post is reporting that that taxi ads I created to help girls whose lives were in danger were pulled off taxi cabs in Chicago. The entire ad campaign has already ran in full. The campaign contract ended July 28th. It's important for people to pay attention to the propaganda being churned out by yellow journalists advancing the agenda of Islamic supremacists.
Our campaign directed at women trying to escape fundamentalist households ran who have no resources, no network or safe place (like Rifqa Bary.)
No ads were pulled except those taken down by Muslim cab drivers who .... support death to apostates? Who knows but western media deriding these ads are, in effect, aiding and abetting the abuse and violence suffered by victims of Islamic honor killings like Aqsa Parvez, Amina and Sarah Said, Noor Almaleki and the near death beating of Harry Potter movie star Afshan Azad (and her parents were born and raised in London. She was dating a non-Muslim boy. So much for the cultural differences meme.)
I love how the Huffington Post writes," Pamela Geller, who has been dubbed the "Queen of Muslim Bashers" -- uh, dubbed by who? Yes, you guessed it, The Huffington Post. They are really sick.

And while we see in rare instances in other cultures, it is clear that the Islamic legal toleration for honor killings leads to an increased rate of such killings among them.
This is growing problem that is being hidden and obfuscated by the big liberal press. The West is reluctant to speak of it, media whitewashes it. But that cannot stand.

GZMosque Defines Truth as the New Hate Speech
The media frenzy to destroy good, decent Americans who oppose a 15-story mega-mosque on Ground Zero is rabid. Even for them. Despite red flags everywhere and the nationwide grief caused by this grotesque act of Islamic supremacism, why isn't the media doing its job, investigative journalism?
Instead, the morally ill media is in full-on operational smear machine mode in the raging war of ideas, the information battle space, the objective of which is to erect the Ground Zero mega mosque. Tolerance is a crime when applied to evil (Thomas Mann). Whilst the NY Times front page spins interfaith yarns into PR gold faster than Rumpelstiltskin and accords godlike status to Imam Feisal Rauf, new audio surfaces. Here are a couple of soundbites of tolerance:

On the question of reforming Islam and expunging the texts of the threat doctrine and mandated violence and conquest:
Imam Feisal: On the issue of the reformation, in terms of what is again intended by it, Islam does not need a reformation.
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf: "So men will say: women, you know, they're emotional, ..... whatever, whatever, and women will say: men, they're brutes, insensitive, etcetera, and you have the beginning of a gender conflict. If gender is not what distinguishes us we'll look at skin colouring and say: n#####s or whities, or whatever"

Note, when he says about the London and Madrid bombings,that was five days after the London attacks and over a year after Madrid. It was common knowledge who the perps were at that time.

How many of you have seen the documentary: Fahrenheit 911? The vast majority - at least half here. Do you remember the scene of the Iraqi woman whose house was bombed and she was just screaming, "What have they done." Now, I don't know, you don't know Arabic but in Arabic it was extremely powerful. Her house was gone. Her husband, I think, was killed. What wrong did he do? Collateral damage is a nice thing to put on a paper but when the collateral damage is your own uncle or cousin, what passions do these arouse? How do you negotiate? How do you tell people whose homes have been destroyed, whose lives have been destroyed, that this does not justify your actions of terrorism. It's hard. Yes, it is true that it does not justify the acts of bombing innocent civilians, that does not solve the problem, but after 50 years of, in many cases, oppression, of US support of authoritarian regimes that have violated human rights in the most heinous of ways, how else do people get attention?
And while Imam Faisal speaks of tolerance and so forth, he commiserates with worst extremists and inciters to genocide:

I just came from a conference in Jordan, Amman where there were over 170 leading Muslim scholars from almost every part of the Muslim world, including some of the most important names like Sheikh Tantawi of Egypt, Sheikh Ali Gomaa, who is the Chief Mufti of Egypt, the Chief Mufti of Jordan, the Sheikh Al-Qaradawi, who is a very very well known Islamic jurist, highly regarded all over the Muslim world.
