Wickilinks Nicknames

This is some of the more prurient material in the Wikileaks cables.

The documents in the article included nicknames for a number of world leaders. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was referred to as "Hitler," French President Nicolas Sarkozy as a "naked emperor," the German Chancellor was called Angela "Teflon" Merkel and Afghan President Hamid Karzai as "driven by paranoia." Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, an "Alpha Male," while President Dmitry Medvedev is "afraid, hesitant."

There was a candidate for the German parliament last year who did much better on Merkel.

The documents also say that North Korean leader Kim Jong Il suffers from epilepsy, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddhafi's full-time nurse is a "hot blond," and Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi loves "wild parties."

I didn't need cables to tell me about Berlusconi. This has been widely publicized.

The article also quotes the State Department as saying that US President Barack Obama "prefers to look East rather than West," and "has no feelings for Europe."

Well, the Brits certainly knew that. I wonder where that Churchill bust is these days.

Hamas Celebrates Murders of Four Jews and a Fetus

Muslim Terrorists Slaughter Four Jewish Civilians in Cold Blood - Bodies Riddled With Bullets Ob Eve of "Peace" Talks

The Muslim groups are fighting for credit for killing these two Jewish couples in cold blood. And the world stands silent and the UN aids and abets jihad.

And Obama? Our worst nightmare. This on the eve of "peace" talks.

Four Jews Murdered in Arab Terror Attack Near Hevron Arutz Sheva

Terrorists murdered four Jewish civilians in a shooting attack at the Bani Naim junction just south of Hevron Tuesday evening. Emergency service paramedics could do nothing to save the victims whose bodeis were riddled with numerous bullets. The terrorists reportedly made sure their victims were dead by shooting them from close range after the initial fusillade.

According to report on Channel 2 television, the victims are two couples, and one of them is a pregnant woman. The IDF is combing the area, searching for the terrorists.

Initial reports said one of the victims had a license for a firearm that was suspended shortly before the attack.

Hamas and Fatah are blaming each other for the terror attack.

UPDATE: It was a well orchestrated ambush. The terrorists made sure the victims (which included a pregnant woman) were all dead before fleeing the scene:(more here) hat tip Armaros

UPDATE: Hamas boasts of their bloodthirst - takes credit:

Will Obama' s gang still want to talk to them?

Will Rauf condemn the killing of a pregnant woman?

Arab Beliefs Unchanged by Obama

Obama Bowing to King Abdullah of Jordan

Three weeks ago, I blogged the results of a Zogby poll of Arab public opinion that showed disappointment with President Obama. Herbert London works through some of the implications of that poll.

First is the obvious conclusion that the adjective moderate hasn't any place in the Middle East, where one man's moderate is another man's radical. The assumption that President Obama's Cairo speech changed attitudes in the Arab world is certainly not borne out by the polling data.

Second, whatever change in tilt the present administration has given to the Israel-Palestinian question, negative attitudes to Israel persist, and it is unlikely this will change substantially as long as Israel exists.

Third, despite the rhetorical shift in Middle East policy reflected in President Obama's attitude and gestures, there is relatively little change in the Arab attitude about Obama and Bush. Considering the hoopla given to policy shifts, it is remarkable that the Arab man on the street retains essentially the same position toward the Unites States that he held two years ago – pre-Bush.

Fourth, despite the imperial aims of Iran and its threats against Sunni-dominated states, Arabs believe that the U.S. is a greater threat to their societies by a factor of 10.

Fifth, it is remarkable that not one moderate leader in the Arab world, alas even in the non-Arab world, makes the list of most admired figures.

Read the whole thing, but the most important conclusion is this one:

The effort to appease, flatter and buy off has not worked. The notion that Obama represents a new chapter in Middle East history is regarded as mythology. And perhaps the most useless expression in the English language is "Middle East Peace Process." There cannot be a peace as long as Israel is regarded as a greater threat than Iran.

Too bad the Obami won't listen.

Obama is Behind Cameron's Attacks on Israel

Obama’s Behind Cameron’s Attack on Israel
by Pamela Geller
Human Events
08/06/2010

British Prime Minister David Cameron in Turkey last week slammed Israel and called Gaza a “prison camp.” (Apparently Gaza is the first prison camp with luxury shopping malls.)

The British Foreign Office has been taking the blame for this betrayal of Israel, but they’re claiming they were as surprised as anyone. Now, a high-placed and knowledgeable source has informed me that it was Obama’s people who put the slamming of Israel into Cameron’s speech.

Cameron said that “the Israeli attack on the Gaza flotilla was completely unacceptable.”

He didn’t mention the ties of the Turkish-backed IHH “activists” on the flotilla to global-jihad terror groups. He didn’t mention that the “activists” on the Turkish flotilla, the Mavi Marmara, were chanting, “Khaibar, Khaibar, O Jews, the army of Muhammad will return”—a chant that refers to Muhammad’s massacre of the Jews at the Arabian oasis of Khaibar.

Now we learn that it was the Obama camp that put Cameron up to this. That should come as no surprise, as Obama himself said that Israel’s defensive action against the jihad flotilla was “tragic.”

Just as Blair was Bush’s “puppy,” Cameron is Obama’s lapdog.

Obama’s using Cameron as his sock puppet points once again to Obama’s obsession with undermining the Jewish state. Obama is doing nothing less than warring against Israel.

When Sean Hannity asked me on his show Tuesday night if I thought Obama was an anti-Semite, I said yes. He is. It sounds harsh. But the evidence is clear and extensive: it’s all meticulously researched and set out in my book The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War On America, which is just out this week.

In the book, I profile Obama’s many anti-Israel playmates: not just Jeremiah Wright, but also Rashid Khalidi (who is also tied to the jihad flotillas and just named a new one after Obama’s book The Audacity of Hope).

I expose the blatant Judeophobia of the terrorist couple Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn in their book Prairie Fire.

It is increasingly clear that the Islamic anti-Semitism taught in the Koranic classes of Obama’s youth in Indonesia and the subsequent adult years he spent with the likes of demagogues and Jew-haters like Wright, Ayers, and Louis Farrakhan have made him the man he is.

Now that Obama is in the White House, he is taking this Jew-hatred to a whole new level, bringing it to the international stage. In the book, I give the details of a little-noticed but pivotal Obama speech that former UN Ambassador John Bolton called “the most radical anti-Israel speech I can recall any President making.”

In The Post-American Presidency, I give the shocking details of how, during the 2008 campaign, Barack Obama’s website, Organizing for America, hosted a series of vile anti-American, Jew-hating posts and pieces.

The anti-Semitic onslaught was overwhelming. It included numerous, heinous calls for Jewish genocide and incitement to hatred. And it continued after the election, into the fall of 2009—on the official website of the man who supposedly is the leader of the free world, and who has editorial control over the website.

And now Obama’s relentless persecution of the Jews by way of an anti-Semitic approach to Israel has now reached a fever pitch with the lines he has fed to his willing stooge David Cameron.

One Israeli intelligence official summed up Obama’s policy toward his country in a nutshell: “Obama wants to make friends with our worst enemies and until now the worst enemies of the United States. Under this policy, we are more than irrelevant. We have become an obstacle.”

An obstacle, but to what goal?

It will only get worse for the tiny Jewish state. And as I show in The Post-American Presidency, everyone who voted for Obama should have seen all this coming. The warnings were clear. They were ignored. The price will be high.

Book Review: The Post-American Presidency

The Intellectual Conservative Book Review: The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America

Excellent book review over at The Intellectual Conservative of my newly released book, The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America.

Rachel Alexander writes:

Brand-New Book Exposes the Vast Remaking of America During Obama's Early Presidency: The Post-American Presidency

Only a year and half into President Obama's administration, Pamela Geller of the blog Atlas Shrugs, along with Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch, have already found enough deeply disturbing information about Obama's presidency to fill a book. No relevant subject is left untouched. The book covers in detail his close ties to radical Islam, his unsettling views on Israel and Jews, his socialist leanings, and his attempts to subvert U.S. authority to internationalism. Book jacket

The theme of The Post -American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America, is how Obama has at best changed, at worst destroyed the presidency; he has taken American exceptionalism (which ironically got him where he is today) and replaced it and the concepts of good and evil with equivocation and moral relativism. (p. xiv) In characteristic Geller style, the book is sprinkled throughout with predictions from Ayn Rand that are now taking place.

Many of Obama's actions will be familiar – Obamacare, refusing to characterize the Fort Hood, Texas massacre as an act of by a terrorist jihadist, banning phrases like "War on Terror," appointing new government "czars" unaccountable to no one but himself. But all too many anecdotes come as a surprise to the average reader; having received little national media coverage.

The expose on how Obama treats Islam, Jews/Israel and Christianity is one of the best parts of the book. While president, Obama has been quietly promoting Islam using the government in a way that would have the ACLU screaming if it was Christianity instead. (p.189) Obama has promoted Islam much more than any previous president ever promoted Christianity, but it is all flying under the mainstream media's radar.

Obama has developed an unsettling pattern of putting pressure upon and supporting laws that target Jews while benefiting radical Islam. He does not treat the two fairly, although he's been able to fool liberal American Jews like Sarah Silverman who cheerfully promote him. His associates and benefactors include many with ties to anti-Semitism. (p. 82) There are so many examples of Obama's disparate treatment documented in the book one wonders why Obama has not been labeled a
Similarly, Obama favors the Islamic world over the U.S. "The policies Obama has pursued since he became president give an ominous cast to his tendency to exonerate the Islamic world and blame America for the conflict between the two." (p. 186) He is eager to offer to dismantle our nuclear arms in exchange for nothing concrete in return; meanwhile rogue nations continue to develop theirs. (p. 162) His putting down of the U.S. has emboldened countries like Iran to step-up their offensive efforts, successfully testing a missile in April 2009 that could reach Israel and U.S. bases in the Middle East. (p. 141) He belittles the dangerous evil of jihadic terrorists by calling them "embittered children." (p. 233)

One of the most egregious examples of Obama putting Islamic interests over others occurred when as president, he had the Department of Justice file a lawsuit against Essex County, New Jersey for not allowing a female corrections officer to wear a hijab covering – essentially enforcing sharia law in the U.S.! (p. 212) As columnist Mark Steyn points out, Obama overlooks the real right of women in the Western world not to wear the hijab. (p. 186)

He has strayed from the Bush administration's hardline position on Iran and avoids taking sides in Iran. (p. 143) He has naively agreed to unilateral talks with Iran and set a deadline for our U.S. troops to leave both Iraq and Afghanistan. This is foolish since there will be no way of determining whether or not we are successful when we leave. (p. 173) He is more concerned with alleged U.S. abuses of human rights at GITMO than he is human rights abuses by Islamic countries around the world, something the Cairo Institute for Human Rights complained about in December 2009. (p. 222)

The next most fascinating part of the book is the mass of evidence the writers have collected confirming that Obama is a socialist. So many pundits on the right are afraid to label Obama a socialist, concerned they may be viewed as fringe. The vast amount of information provided in this book provides ample ammo for anyone who needs to defend that assertion.

The sheer dishonesty of Obama revealed is jarring. Most suspect he twists the truth, exaggerates, and omits, but he has done much worse. During the presidential campaign, his Fight the Smears website declared, "Fact: Barack was never an ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity." (p. 309) In reality, Obama has become synonymous with community organizer. Toni Foulkes, a leader in Obama's ACORN chapter, wrote an article in which she spoke proudly about Obama's role as an ACORN trainer, emphasizing that Obama's Project Vote activities were done in conjunction with ACORN.

Obama is using many methods to quietly bring the U.S. under international rule. When he cannot find a way to accomplish this through U.S. channels, he does what former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton (who wrote the forward for this book) calls "norming." He takes the issue to the international community to have them create international standards of behavior which then put pressure on the U.S. to conform. (p. 2) It is all done very diplomatically, so the American people are not even aware what is really happening.

Obama's attempts to squelch free speech in the U.S. are alarming. Obamacare protesters are falsely labeled as racists in order to discredit their protests. (p. 243) In November 2009, the White House warned a prominent Democrat strategist that he better not to appear on Fox News again or he would lose clients. (p. 251) No wonder Obama was so eager to meet and hug Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez. Chavez took over all the media in Venezuela. (p. 238) There are plenty more examples documented in the book.

Some of the statements Obama has made are bizarre or even false, and clearly reflect his post-American presidency viewpoint. In a speech to the Turkish Parliament in April 2009, he said the Islamic faith has done much over the centuries to shape the world – "including in my own country." How has Islam shaped the U.S.? The authors note there were no Muslims who drafted the Constitution or fought against slavery. This leaves the 911 attacks as the only significant event that has shaped the U.S. related to the Muslim faith, which has changed the way we deal with airport security, detaining of terrorists, and other security measures.(p. 204-206)

Obama claims he has found "moderate" versions of various Islamic extremist groups to work with, but there is scant evidence that so-called moderate versions exist. As newspaper editor Muhammad Qaseem Akhgar declared, "'Moderate Taliban' is like 'moderate killer.' Is there such a thing?" (p. 170)

He has stated that Islam has a "proud history of tolerance," citing the history of Andalusia and Cordoba during the Inquisition. The only problem is even that society treated Jews and Christians differently than Muslims; they were required to pay an extra tax and to observe a number of restrictive regulations, such as forbidding the display of crosses. (p. 188)

Obama has surrounded himself and his administration with numerous socialists and Muslim sympathizers who have disturbing ties to terrorism and Islamic extremism. Some, like the socialist black radical Van Jones, have been exposed and forced to resign from the administration. Others like Carol Browner, appointed as global warming czar, have been able to quietly distance themselves from their socialist ties. Browner was a leader of the Socialist International Commission for a Sustainable World Society, but resigned right before Obama appointed her.

The book ends with a powerful observation made on January 29, 2010 about the new post-American world by Lech Walesa, Solidarity hero and former Polish president who was instrumental in bringing freedom to his country and ousting communism: "The United States is only one superpower. Today they lead the world. Nobody has doubts about it – militarily. They also lead economically, but they're getting weak. They don't lead morally and politically anymore. The world has no leadership. The United States was always the last resort and hope for all other nations. There was the hope, whenever something was going wrong, one could count on the United States. Today, we lost that hope." (p. 329-330) Welcome to the Post-American Presidency; this is the change Obama has brought.

Obama and Ahmadinejad doing it with Mirrors

Or like the Islamic regime leadership in Iran, which facing increasing pressure from the populace and from warring clerical and secular factions, has suddenly announced that out of some 10 people who were responsible for the tortures and rapes at the notorious Kahrizak prison, two had been condemned to death, eight condemned to prison, 80 lashes, fines and temporary suspensions from duty and one found not guilty.

However, none of the ten have been named, nor any information released about the proceedings, so it is certainly a sham to appease/confuse and diffuse the populace just as Oba-Hussein is doing in America to grab/retain power.

Moslem Oba-Hussein and the Moslem regime in Iran both use "taqqiyeh" (bald face lying) as a legitimate method to protect Islam and themselves.

Big Kiss-off From Obama

John G. Is 63 years old and owns a small business. He's a life-long Republican and sees his dream of retiring next year has all but evaporated. With the stock market crashing and new taxes coming his way, John assumes now that he will work to his dying day.

John has a granddaughter.. Ashley is a recent college grad. She drives a flashy hybrid car, wears all the latest fashions, and loves to go out to nightclubs and restaurants. Ashley campaigned hard for Barack Obama. After the election she made sure her grandfather (and all other Republican family members) received a big I told-you-so earful on how the world is going to be a much better place now that her party is taking over.

Having lost both roommates, Ashley recently ran short of cash and cannot pay the rent (again) on her 3 bedroom townhouse.. Like she has done many times in the past, she e-mailed her grandfather asking for some financial help.

Here is his reply:

Sweetheart, I received your request for assistance.

Ashley, you know I love you dearly and I 'm sympathetic to your financial plight. Unfortunately, times have changed. With the election of President Obama, your grandmother and I have had to set forth a bold new economic plan of our own..."The Ashley Economic Empowerment Plan." Let me explain.

Your grandmother and I are life-long, wage-earning tax payers. We have lived a comfortable life, as you know, but we have never had the fancier things like European vacations, luxury cars, etc.. We have worked hard and were looking forward to retiring soon. But the plan has changed. Your president is raising our personal and business taxes significantly. He says it is so he can give our hard earned money to other people. Do you know what this means, Ashley? It means less for us, and we must cut back on many business and personal expenses.

You know the wonderful receptionist who worked in my office for more than 23 years? The one who always gave you candy when you came over to visit? I had to let her go last week. I can't afford to pay her salary and all of the government mandated taxes that go with having employees. Your grandmother will now work 4 days a week to answer phones, take orders and handle the books. We will be closed on Fridays and will lose even more income to the Wal-Mart.

I'm also very sorry to report that your cousin Frank will no longer be working summers in the warehouse. I called him at school this morning.. He already knows about it and he's upset because he will have to give up skydiving and his yearly trip to Greenland to survey the polar bears.

That's just the business side of things. Some personal economic effects of Obama's new taxation policies include none other than you You know very well that over the years your grandmother and I have given you thousands of dollars in cash, tuition assistance, food, housing, clothing, gifts, etc.., etc. But by your vote, you have chosen to help others -- not at your expense -- but at our expense.

If you need money now sweetheart, I recommend you call 202-456-1111. That is the direct phone number for the White House.. You can also contact the White House here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/CONTACT/ .

You yourself told me how foolish it is to vote Republican. You said Mr Obama is going to be the People's President, and is going to help every American live a better life. Based on everything you've told me, along with all the promises we heard during the campaign, I'm sure Mr. Obama will be happy to transfer some stimulus money into your bank account. Have him call me for the account number which I memorized years ago..

Perhaps you can now understand what I've been saying all my life: those who vote for a president should consider the impact on the nation as a whole, and not be just concerned with what they can get for themselves. What Obama supporters don't seem to realize is all of the money he is redistributing to illegal aliens and non-taxpaying Americans (the so-called "less fortunate") comes from tax-paying families.

Remember how you told me, "Only the richest of the rich will be affected"? Well guess what, honey? Because we own a business, your grandmother and I are now considered to be the richest of the rich. On paper, it might look that way, but in the real world, we are far from it.

As you said while campaigning for Obama, some people will have to carry more of the burden so all of America can prosper.. You understand what that means, right? It means that raising taxes on productive people results in them having less money; less money for everything, including granddaughters.

I'm sorry, Ashley, but the well has run dry.. The free lunches are over.. I have no money to give you now. So, congratulations on your choice for "change." For future reference, I encourage you to try and add up the total value of the gifts and cash you have received from us, just since you went off to college, and compare it to what you expect to get from Mr. Obama over the next 4 (or 8) years. I have not kept track of it, Ashley. It has all truly been the gift of our hearts.

Remember, we love you dearly....but from now on you'll need to call the number mentioned above. Your "Savior" has the money we would have given to you. Just try and get it from him.

Good luck, sweetheart.

Love, Grandpa

The Age of Obama is a Racial Nightmare

Recent data shows, though, that much of black progress is a myth. In many respects, African Americans are doing no better than they were when Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated and uprisings swept inner cities across America. Nearly a quarter of African Americans live below the poverty line today, approximately the same percentage as in 1968. The black child poverty rate is actually higher now than it was then. Unemployment rates in black communities rival those in Third World countries. And that’s with affirmative action!

When we pull back the curtain and take a look at what our “colorblind” society creates without affirmative action, we see a familiar social, political, and economic structure -- the structure of racial caste. The entrance into this new caste system can be found at the prison gate.

This is not the Martin Luther King dream. This is not the Promised Land. The cyclical rebirth of caste in America is a recurring racial nightmare.

GOP Bringing Down America

"Health care is a loser for the Left only if the Right has the steel to undo it. The Left is banking on an absence of steel. Why is that a bad bet?
Andrew McCarthy
Indeed. Look at it from the Dems' point of view. You pass Obamacare. You lose the 2010 election, which gives the GOP co-ownership of an awkward couple of years. And you come back in 2012 to find your health care apparatus is still in place, a fetid behemoth of toxic pustules oozing all over the basement, and, simply through the natural processes of government, already bigger and more expensive and more bureaucratic than it was when you passed it two years earlier. That's a huge prize, and well worth a midterm timeout.
Mark Steyn

McCarthy and Steyn assume that HCR in its present form will become law through reconciliation. They claim HCR is so unpopular the 2010 mid-terms will be a disaster for the Democrats. With Obama in the WH till 2012, he can veto bills posed by Republicans to amend the HCR.
The major problem with this scenario is that much-needed reform in areas such as education, alternative energy, collective bargaining [EFCA], deficit financing, banking and the stock market will stall. The factors that combined to start the first major recession remain in place to bring about a second one.
Both McCarthy and Steyn think GOP obstructionism will put the economy into neutral for two years while the Republicans regain the Presidency in 2012. Many economists believe other dynamics such as joblessness, homelessness, financial chaos, war and trade deficits will continue to extract a toll.

The Penalties of Ignorance

It's a shame that Aljazeera/English did not become a major US network. It enlightens the viewer on all things Asian. For a nation that has wasted about half her Federal budget in Asian incursions since the advent of the Cold War, an objective observer might assume the Americans would have made the slightest effort to understand her various enemies.
I present a small example. Nineteen Arab terrorists cut the northern border wire fence to enter Israel. They proceeded into a valley where the border patrol intercepted them. The invaders exchanged fire until they were dead.
Nineteen terrorist high jacked US airliners, crashed them into buildings and killed almost 3,000 Americans. In retaliation, the US invaded two sovereign nations, killed over 1.3 millions civilians and made four millions homeless. Understandably, many US citizens and officials fear reprisals if they dared speak out against such atrocities. The UN and the Arab States stand mute. Instead, they maintain the propaganda barrage against Israel.
At the same time, the US refuses to prosecute the governmental and corporate traitors in her midst. She ignores theft, espionage, fraud, murder, torture and crimes against humanity. The perpetrators read as a cross-section of Who's Who.
"Judaism itself was created less than 300 years ago" – Shingo. Reform Judaism was a reaction when Napoleon opened the professions to the Jews. Modern Orthodoxy was a reaction to Reform. The Conservative branch started in Cincinnati, Ohio, to absorb the American Jewish experience. The 78% who supported Obama came from all three groups expecting a peace candidate.
The Brookings Institution via the Alexander Hamilton Project has controlled Democratic politics since before the Clinton administration. Early in 2007 Barack Obama spoke as the future Presidential nominee. Shortly thereafter, he enjoyed the flood of corporate contributions. To gain the votes of the left, he made the populist noises expected by Progressives. Once elected, he veered to the right, a champion of Wall Street. We doubt there will be much meaningful legislation on climate control, EFCA, health reform, education and alternative energy.
The US politicians and the people decide nothing. Technocrats and mindless robots have got us by the short hairs.
What caused the stock market crash? To handle the immense volume of transactions, the nerds built a computer model based on Alan Greenspan's assumptions of market-clearing mechanisms, competition in the factor markets and a perpetual housing and stock market bubble. When the bubble burst, the model turned upside down. It bought bad stocks and unloaded good ones. In less than a day the worldwide economy was in recession and nobody knew how to fix it.

The Presidential Trip

Bibi and Barack
Barack Obama in the Levant

Wisely, the US leader has been upbeat about his journey to the east, but has not fuelled expectations. The best politician America has produced in the Television Age is not one to tip his hand.

Having publicly demanded that Israel stop building settlements in the predominantly Palestinian West Bank, the President will also ask Arab nations collectively to recognize Israel's existence.
Tying together all the elements of such a speech is no easy proposition, for his worldwide audience — Muslim and non-Muslim — has multiple competing priorities and concerns.
Consider: Lebanese go to the polls just three days after he speaks, Iranians will be preparing for pivotal elections June 12 and both contests pit moderate parties against radical forces. Afghans and Pakistanis are girding for increased U.S. military and political engagement. [Mc Klatchey]
Palestinians and Israelis have conflicting stakes. In the U.S., Republicans will be looking for any window to paint the Democratic president as anti-American, anti-Israel or soft on terrorism.
"It's a very high bar to clear. The expectations are immense," said Tamara Cofman Wittes, the director of the Middle East Democracy and Development Project at the Washington-based Brookings Institution's Saban Center for Middle East Policy. "No matter how broadly he speaks, what he says will be parsed through the lens of those disagreements."
Obama won't lay out a detailed vision for resolving the Arab-Israeli crisis. "I want to use the occasion to deliver a broader message about how the United States can change for the better its relationship with the Muslim world," the president said Thursday. "That will require, I think, recognition on both the part of the United States as well as many majority Muslim countries about each other, a better sense of understanding, and I think possibilities to achieve common ground."
Obama would like to rally Muslim countries to join in efforts to contain Iran's nuclear program. While many Arab governments also see Iran as a threat, however, the issue divides Muslims, in part because Israel is pressing for military action.

Obama Begins to Be Realistic

Why should Arabs undergo a negotiation process if the President alone can rip concessions from Israel? 74% of Israelis believe that Barack Obama won't gain anything for us. Iran's proxies have attacked us twice in three years. This is why 84% of us believe Iran's nuclear development is unlikely to be peaceful. Turkey and Saudi Arabia agree. Both nations have asked permission to begin nuclear programs. They held still when only Israel had WMD. As Iran approaches nuclear status, they want it too.
When Mr Obama was campaigning, he denounced Bush administration policies. After the Inauguration, we saw Obama carrying on with cosmetic changes to the old policies. Now, we see him shift to a wide range of the Bush agenda. With many of my countrymen, I welcome the awakening of realism in Obama.

Obama has already decided how to deal with Israelis

The President has decided to delay talks about Iran's nukes for two years. This should be enough time for her to develop her own WMD or to buy them. Obama has placed Israeli and Iranian lives in Ahmadinejad's hands. People who enjoy TV accounts of nuclear events will be thrilled.
The President should follow advice to ignore the AIPAC letter. It might offend him. Also, he should ignore the millions of ordinary Israeli and Iranian nationals who don't want to be vaporized. Their deaths might cast a pall on the NBA play-offs.

"Enlightened individuals live in bliss and harmony with all. There is nothing to fear in their minds. There are stories of Yogis who could pet tigers in the jungles of India.
Fear-drenched dualists, at war with the Eternal Enemy, suffer endless daily deaths and agonies, compounded by barbarities perpetrated to try to defeat this enemy, never realizing that this is simply the absurd act of the right hand trying to destroy the left hand, or vice-versa, and wondering why one feels so badly all the time, that is if they recognize their feelings at all. Denial is a big factor in the psychotic mindset.
Where does the Israeli State fall on the scale between enlightened vision and psychotic vision?"

The Ways of the Torah are Sweet

After two serious years in Vietnam, the USA went nuts. They were to remain so for forty years. They collapsed on 9/11 into fear and are still mired. Americans sometimes ask me. After 61 years of hostility, seven wars and three Intifadas, how does any Israeli manage a semblance of normal life? The answer is to walk in the ways of the Torah keeping the diversions minimal. I have a picture of my son on the battlefield deeply into his morning prayers.
That's how.

How Old Is Barack Obama? How Old is His Country?

Whatever answers you give, Israel and I are about 5700 years older. Over the years we have walked the walk and thought the thought a full range of human experience. What's more, we could write our history [the Bible] and read it to our children. There is nothing new under the sun. If an upstart poses a problem, there is a scholar who will get the answer to it from an ancient sage on line.
We dealt with Alexander the Great and we will deal with Barack Obama.

Abbass' Waiting Game

Mahmoud Abbas says there is nothing for him to do.
True, the Palestinian president walked into his meeting with Barack Obama yesterday as the pivotal player in any Middle East peace process. If there is to be a deal, Abbas must (1) agree on all the details of a two-state settlement with the new Israeli government of Binyamin Netanyahu, which hasn't yet accepted Palestinian statehood, and (2) somehow overcome the huge split in Palestinian governance between his Fatah movement, which controls the West Bank, and Hamas, which rules Gaza and hasn't yet accepted Israel's right to exist.
Yet on Wednesday afternoon, as he prepared for the White House meeting in a suite at the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City, Abbas insisted that his only role was to wait. He will wait for Hamas to capitulate to his demand that any Palestinian unity government recognize Israel and swear off violence. And he will wait for the Obama administration to force a recalcitrant Netanyahu to freeze Israeli settlement construction and publicly accept the two-state formula.
Until Israel meets his demands, the Palestinian president says, he will refuse to begin negotiations. He won't even agree to help Obama's envoy, George J. Mitchell, persuade Arab states to take small confidence-building measures. "We can't talk to the Arabs until Israel agrees to freeze settlements and recognize the two-state solution," he insisted in an interview. "Until then we can't talk to anyone."
For veterans of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, Abbas's bargaining position will be bone-wearyingly familiar: Both sides invariably begin by arguing that they cannot act until the other side offers far-reaching concessions. Netanyahu suggested during his own visit to Washington last week that the Palestinians should start by recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, though he didn't make it a precondition for meeting with Abbas.
What's interesting about Abbas's hardline position, however, is what it says about the message that Obama's first Middle East steps have sent to Palestinians and Arab governments. From its first days the Bush administration made it clear that the onus for change in the Middle East was on the Palestinians: Until they put an end to terrorism, established a democratic government and accepted the basic parameters for a settlement, the United States was not going to expect major concessions from Israel.
Obama, in contrast, has repeatedly and publicly stressed the need for a West Bank settlement freeze, with no exceptions. In so doing he has shifted the focus to Israel. He has revived a long-dormant Palestinian fantasy: that the United States will simply force Israel to make critical concessions, whether or not its democratic government agrees, while Arabs passively watch and applaud. "The Americans are the leaders of the world," Abbas told me and Post Editorial Page Editor Fred Hiatt. "They can use their weight with anyone around the world. Two years ago they used their weight on us. Now they should tell the Israelis, 'You have to comply with the conditions.' "
It's true, of course, that if Obama is to broker a Middle East settlement he will have to overcome the recalcitrance of Netanyahu and his Likud party, which has not yet reconciled itself to the idea that Israel will have to give up most of the West Bank and evacuate tens of thousands of settlers. But Palestinians remain a long way from swallowing reality as well. Setting aside Hamas and its insistence that Israel must be liquidated, Abbas -- usually described as the most moderate of Palestinian leaders -- last year helped doom Netanyahu's predecessor, Ehud Olmert, by rejecting a generous outline for Palestinian statehood.
In our meeting Wednesday, Abbas acknowledged that Olmert had shown him a map proposing a Palestinian state on 97 percent of the West Bank -- though he complained that the Israeli leader refused to give him a copy of the plan. He confirmed that Olmert "accepted the principle" of the "right of return" of Palestinian refugees -- something no previous Israeli prime minister had done -- and offered to resettle thousands in Israel. In all, Olmert's peace offer was more generous to the Palestinians than either that of Bush or Bill Clinton; it's almost impossible to imagine Obama, or any Israeli government, going further.
Abbas turned it down. "The gaps were wide," he said.
Abbas and his team fully expect that Netanyahu will never agree to the full settlement freeze -- if he did, his center-right coalition would almost certainly collapse. So they plan to sit back and watch while U.S. pressure slowly squeezes the Israeli prime minister from office. "It will take a couple of years," one official breezily predicted. Abbas rejects the notion that he should make any comparable concession -- such as recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, which would imply renunciation of any large-scale resettlement of refugees.
Instead, he says, he will remain passive. "I will wait for Hamas to accept international commitments. I will wait for Israel to freeze settlements," he said. "Until then, in the West Bank we have a good reality . . . the people are living a normal life." In the Obama administration, so far, it's easy being Palestinian.

Barack Obama Plays Alexander the Great

Wisely, the US leader has been upbeat about his journey to the east, but has not fueled expectations. The best politician America has produced in the Television Age is not one to tip his hand.

Having publicly demanded that Israel stop building settlements in the predominantly Palestinian West Bank, the President will also ask Arab nations collectively to recognize Israel's existence.
According to Jackson Diehl of the Washington Post, Abbas feels he is in a strong position to play a waiting game. Abbas acknowledged that Olmert had shown him a map proposing a Palestinian state on 97 percent of the West Bank -- though he complained that the Israeli leader refused to give him a copy of the plan. He confirmed that Olmert "accepted the principle" of the "right of return" of Palestinian refugees -- something no previous Israeli prime minister had done -- and offered to resettle thousands in Israel.
[McClatchy]
Palestinians and Israelis have irreconcilable differences. In the U.S., Republicans will be looking for any window of opportunity to paint the Democratic President as anti-American, anti-Israel and soft on terrorism.

The Arabs Change History Not Obama's Speech

The Arabs Change History Not Obama's Speech

Suddenly Obama was here to "fix things," while reducing our problems to the size of a footnote.I support Obama, at least in comparison to his war-mongering colleagues. But we don't need his leadership, or anyone else's for that matter. Barack Obama "likes to change what history means." He has spent too much time in the USA.
His message to us was very, very basic Obama: First, I acknowledge your history. Second, it’s time each of you recognize the other’s side history, that you stop thinking that somehow by admitting the other’s side suffering you’ll erase your own. And now that you’ve acknowledged history, stop holding on to it as if electricity were running through it, as if your hand can’t let go. Move forward. Turn history into history - the text explaining how we got here - and stop treating it as an ever-repeating present.
Gresghom Gorenberg, South Jerusalem
Another listening to the speech, Stiletos in the Sand, an American based in Saudi Arabia, writes:

54 minutes and 22 seconds .. of my life I can never get back. Speech in Cairo by the jeja is here in four separate parts. Really no reason for any other leaders of the world to continue ruling their own little domains. The jeja seems to have it all under control and will be the first, self-appointed, world leader from hereon out. Oh, sure. He says everything he has aspirations for, that he thinks can be achieved in the world, will need to be done "together." Don't believe him for one single skinny second. If his lips are moving, he is lying. Hoo Boy.

Syrian Khaldoun Jarbou too wasn't impressed but writes:

I don’t see any thing new in Obama’s speech, more than that, anyone who kept up with his campaign he/she will notes that this speech is a collection of what he had said before in his way to the White House, but how ever I have liked his choosing of some words. I mean in that Violence and Extremist instead of Terrorism and Terrorist.

Bahraini Mahmood Al Yousif wonders out aloud on the speech venue:

I keep asking myself why did Obama choose the most repressive regimes in the Middle East to honour not only with his presence, but also to use as a launch pad for his Utopian vision of a peaceful and democratic Middle East? A vision that will continue to remain as illusive as a desert mirage for us Middle Easteners.

Then I try to select an alternate of the 22 Arab countries where he could have used instead, but I fail to find a single one which could be worthy of such an occasion.

On the speech itself, Al Yousif adds:

Regardless, he touched the perennial issues; Palestine through to women’s rights, freedom of expression to democratic governments and of course the rejection of terrorism and freedom of belief. Points which generally have been raised by every single American president - and world leader for that matter - albeit without such eloquence and empathy - but so far without any concrete steps to see through their resolutions. Somehow a “shared interest” creeps in and all those promises get shelved or forgotten to be revived upon a new ascension to a throne.

Writing at Mideast Youth, fellow Bahraini Esra'a explains why she did not tune into the speech:

As an Arab and a Muslim, there was nothing much I can benefit from what Obama has to say. I’m so tired of these tedious speeches and words and praises and promises that no one, including the target audience, ever lives up to. Despite not watching this speech due to lack of interest, I sat down on Twitter and was frankly disgusted at the hype, the way people were mindlessly cheering his words on, as if they don’t understand the sources of our issues to begin with. Suddenly Obama was here to “fix things,” while reducing our problems to the size of a footnote.

I support Obama, at least in comparison to his war-mongering colleagues. But we don’t need his leadership, or anyone else’s for that matter.

The Jewish Confusion

South Jerusalem Gresghom Gorenberg notes how the speech has changed history:

Barack Obama likes to change what history means, and that’s a very good thing.

Today, for instance, marks 42 years since the Six-Day War began. Ever since then, the term “June 4 lines” has referred to the on-the-ground border between Israel and its Arab neighbors on the eve of the war - not the lines marked on maps, but the lines marked by forward military positions. On the Syrian front, for instance, the actual positions lined up with neither the pre-1948 international border between Palestine and Syria, nor with the 1949 armistice agreements. The small distances on the ground make for big problems in peace negotiations.

As of yesterday, however, June 4 means something entirely different. It now refers to the day on which Barack Obama chose to speak in Cairo. “June 4 lines” henceforth mean the line of thinking that the president laid out for reconciliation between the U.S. and the Muslim world, and along the way, between Israel and the Palestinians.
The Obama Confusion

Barack Obama "likes to change what history means." He believes that a few conciliatory words and a couple of good deeds can alter the sins of the past. Barack has spent too much time attending American schools and CIA controlled news and information. He calls the 1973 conflict the Yom Kippur War won by Israel. Obama errs. It was the Six Hour War won by Egypt.
[[SIXHOURWAR]]

The Egyptian victory at October war 1973 is one of the most important events in the Egyptian modern history.

Despite the Israeli claims that they won that war , their Zionist false media propaganda will never change the fact that they were defeated in that war (Yom Kippur DEFEAT) , the brave Egyptian soldiers destroyed Bar-Lev line which was the most powerful fortification in the world in only 6 hours , the Egyptian army destroyed what was named as "invincible army" , Egypt fought , won , got back Sinai without leaving an inch for Israel and forced the Israelis to accept peace which they refused before that war.

Greetings to the brave Egyptian and Syrian soldiers who lost their lives to achieve the great victory at October war and to purify Sinai peninsula and Golan heights from the dirty Israeli occupation with their blood.

The American Delusion

The Yom Kippur War [1973] occurred long before most people on the planet were even born. They must rely on the media. What do they see in the schools and on television? The Yom Kippur War or the Six Hour War, which do you think?
The Egyptians change history not Obama.

Obama Lust?

If President Obama had the moral fiber of Truman, he would have closed the offices of Reuters News Agency and revoked the FCC licenses of FOX and ABC. We Have Two Major Problems in the USA 1. A significant number of our leaders believe they are above the law and act accordingly. 2. Many ordinary citizens feel there is no way to bring these scoundrels to book.

The King Dined with Golden Utensils

The golden utensils assured the peasants the kingdom was solvent. To paraphrase Jack Kennedy, peace is nothing. The appearance of peace is everything.
In this case, the CIA and the Congress seek to convince they are on America's side. The CIA claims the lies and torture furthered our national interest the excesses due to bad apples. The Congressmen express surprise and shock they have been lied to for generations.
Anybody who has ever worked in a bureaucracy could have straightened them away. Any organization imitates life. It seeks to perpetuate itself. The employees become slaves to t5he organism after serving it for four or five years.
The self-styled reformers and Progressive nip at the evil-doers heels. Indulging in their fantasy of working for the common good, they spotlight the officials involved. As if their private conversations and doings had an effect on what was happening, the investigators are lucky to incarcerate one "Scooter" per disaster.
Since the employees are interchangeable, every GS/9 or higher with more than 5 years in harness should be jailed. Guilty until proven innocent is a fine motivation to tell the truth.

Obama Caught in Lustful Moment

Or Was He?

After Reuters released the photo, Matt Drudge re-titled it as "Second Stimulus Package."

Hours later The Fox Nation titled the photo "Another Stimulus?" altered eventually to the punchier "Busted?"

ABC's Jake Tapper outdid FOX with the title "When in Rome."

Media Matters Shows the Usual Liberal Inept Response

But upon looking at the video, the moment might seem to appear quite innocent -- one of those times when a picture can be misleading. The president was on a higher step and was stepping down -- so he looked down to assure his footing as the woman was walking up the stairs." He concluded: "Although: not everyone agrees. Judge for yourself."

The public has judged Obama guilty as charged by Matt Drudge. For lusting after a white woman, the President has dropped to a 56 percent popularity rating.

President Truman Fired General MacArthur

Sixty-two years of CIA brain washing and information control have made the average American a moral cipher. It is difficult for him to differentiate among a hike on the Appalachian Trail, the torture of tens of thousands of helpless prisoners and a lustful glance from a President.

Harry S. Truman suffered no such illusions. General MacArthur enjoyed international fame from his World War II conquest of the Japanese in the Pacific. Both political parties wooed him to run for the Presidency in 1952. During the Korean War, however, he desired to use the atomic bomb to neutralize the Chinese. After he persisted with this notion and it became public knowledge, he had to go.

President Truman could abide the personal affront from the General, but he had insulted the Office of the President.

If President Obama had the moral fiber of Truman, he would have closed the offices of Reuters News Agency and revoked the FCC licenses of FOX and ABC.

We Have Two Major Problems in the USA

1. A significant number of our leaders believe they are above the law and act accordingly.
2. Many ordinary citizens feel there is no way to bring these scoundrels to book.

The heads of the 15 US Agencies responsible for national security and law enforcement should investigate prominent Americans for evidence of wrong doing. If the evidence points to a strong chance for indictment, the suspect should be jailed guilty until proven innocent. The trials should be televised, as well as the executions if applicable.
Eor example, a vote against single payer or the EFCA should merit the death penalty.
Public hangings are a tonic.

Reaction to Obama's Israel Comments

Americans Pick on Israel Because Nobody Else Listens to Them
Mr Barack Obama could best show his good will by pulling his troops out of the war zones. He could best show his commitment to human rights by enforcing the 1948 UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights in his country.
His new UN Ambassador Dr Susan Rice has called on the UN to end Sudan's genocide in Darfur militarily. As 430,000 innocent civilians have died there, this would be a significant step forward.
In the past 40 years the Americans have killed 7.4 millions innocent civilians in Asia. Your government plans to contest the Chinese for oil concessions in Africa. The US is hardly in a posture to lecture anybody on crimes against humanity.
The careful reader may note the one-sidedness of Middle East peace negotiations. Israelis are the only ones listening. What we heard prompts us to build high walls and to keep our nuclear forces on alert.
