New_york_crimes_rally_010
And the hits just keep on coming from Obama's Department of Justice -- last week we discovered that the DoJ scuttled the prosecution of Muslim Brotherhood groups in the US (i.e. CAIR, etc.)
We protested this action of sedition back in 2008.
Breaking News Politico
-------------------------------------------------
The Justice Department has dropped its long-running criminal investigation of a lawyer who publicly admitted leaking information about President George W. Bush’s top-secret warrantless wiretapping program to The New York Times – disclosures that Bush denounced as a breach of national security and that stoked a congressional debate about whether the government had overstepped its authority as it scrambled to respond to the 9/11 terror attacks.
The decision not to prosecute former Justice Department lawyer Thomas Tamm means it is unlikely that anyone will ever be charged for the disclosures that led to the Times’ Pulitzer Prize-winning story in December 2005 revealing that after the Sept. 11 attacks, Bush ordered the interception of certain phone calls and e-mail messages into and out of the U.S. without a warrant — a move many lawyers contend violated the 1978 law governing intelligence-related wiretaps.

Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood Hard to Beat

Islamists in Egypt Seek Change Through Politics -- Jeffrey Fleishman
The secular reformers and twenty-something urbanites at the vanguard of Egypt's Jan. 25 revolution have found themselves eclipsed. They lack experience and grass-roots networks to compete with the Muslim Brotherhood and other religious groups that have quietly stoked their passions for this moment. In a sense, Mubarak's obsession with both co-opting and crushing Islamists instilled in them the discipline and organization that now propels their political agendas.
The military council ruling the country has astounded many by permitting Islam a wider role. The Muslim Brotherhood, the largest opposition party, expects a strong showing in September's parliamentary elections. In Egypt's first taste of true democracy, the Brotherhood and more fundamentalist Salafist organizations told followers that it was their religious duty to vote to approve a referendum on constitutional amendments that benefited Islamists by speeding up elections. One of Egypt's leading ultraconservative sheiks, Mohamed Hussein Yacoub, influenced by Saudi Arabia's Wahhabi strain of Islam, was quoted as saying after the referendum had passed: "That's it. The country is ours." (Los Angeles Times)

West Experts Baffled: Muslim Brotherhood Runs Egypt
It is also clear that the young, educated secular activists who initially propelled the nonideological revolution are no longer the driving political force — at least not at the moment.
As the best organized and most extensive opposition movement in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood was expected to have an edge in the contest for influence. But what surprises many is its link to a military that vilified it.
“There is evidence the Brotherhood struck some kind of a deal with the military early on,” said Elijah Zarwan, a senior analyst with the International Crisis Group. “It makes sense if you are the military — you want stability and people off the street. The Brotherhood is one address where you can go to get 100,000 people off the street.”
“We are all worried,” said Amr Koura, 55, a television producer, reflecting the opinions of the secular minority. “The young people have no control of the revolution anymore. It was evident in the last few weeks when you saw a lot of bearded people taking charge. The youth are gone.”
In the early stages of the revolution, the Brotherhood was reluctant to join the call for demonstrations. It jumped in only after it was clear that the protest movement had gained traction. Throughout, the Brotherhood kept a low profile, part of a survival instinct honed during decades of repression by the state.
The question at the time was whether the Brotherhood would move to take charge with its superior organizational structure.
It now appears that it has.
But the more secular forces say that what they need is time.
“I worry about going too fast towards elections, that the parties are still weak,” said Nabil Ahmed Helmy, former dean of the Zagazig law school and a member of the National Council for Human Rights.
As I said, I am shocked. Only last month the NYT's own Nicholas Kristof waxed lyrical about the courage of the Facebook youth of Egypt and said we should be ashamed to even think that they would not be taking Egypt in a new, liberal, democratic direction.
And I, an anonymous blogger who does not have the prestige or experience of Nick Kristof and who has never even visited Egypt, had the audacity to respond:
Kristof is making a major mistake. He is confusing bravery for political maturity.
No one doubts the protesters' bravery. No one doubts their integrity, or their desire for change, or even their desire for democracy.
But there are serious doubts at their ability to translate the raw desire for freedom into a functional, liberal, democratic government.
It is hard work to create the institutions necessary. More importantly, it takes time - and time is not on the side of the protesters.
It is now fashionable to pooh-pooh the dangers of the Muslim Brotherhood in Kristof's liberal circles, but no one can doubt that the Islamists are better organized and much more politically mature than the Facebookers of Tahrir Square. It takes time to set up an organization, to define a clear agenda, to build a fundraising mechanism, to attract volunteers, to build a means to communicate with all the people - including in rural areas, and to do all the myriad details from physical buildings to a phone system to a mailing list.
True freedom cannot flourish until Egyptians have been exposed to a wide range of ideas on a level playing field. The existing Islamist groups are running circles around the "Egyptian youth" we hear so much about. Kristof is so caught up in the emotions of the moment that he cannot think outside Tahrir Square, to the 99% of the country that is not as emotionally invested in who their leaders would be. To them, the nice people with beards who build a free Islamic school for their kids are the only game in town.
Enthusiasm does not ensure effective state building and true freedoms. Kristof, instead of spouting straw-man arguments, should be advocating ways for his jeans-wearing heroes to channel their sparks of enthusiasm and bravery into the hard, thankless and often boring work necessary to build a new Egypt from scratch.
How dare I disagree with such an outstanding pundit and accurately predict nearly everything in this article written by his employer a month later? How could I have the chutzpah to mention that the New York Times is paying someone to spout wishful-thinking nonsense while I, and many others, could see what was to happen from thousands of miles away?
(I didn't see a partnership with the army, I admit...that is actually stunning and far more worrisome than what I had written.)

NPR Muslim Brotherhood Investigation Part II
Here is the follow-up to the secret bombshell video here that led to the resignations of two top-level executives at NPR when their racist, Jew-hating remarks were exposed, as well as their willingness to take five million dollars from a Muslim Brotherhood organization full story here. The disgraced Ron Schiller smeared Christians, Republicans, Jews and tea partiers (of course). So not only did they welcome the Muslim Brotherhood blood money, but National Public Radio senior executive Ron Schiller referred to Christians and tea partiers as "the radical, racist, Islamophobic." He actually called Christians radical and extreme -- this to a group that defines the most radical, extreme ideology on the planet.
Project Veritas has just released a second in a series of videos. This one is even more egregious. This video/audio tape exposes Betsy Liley, Senior Director of NPR, saying that she may be able to shield the Muslim Brotherhood front group from an audit of their five million dollar donation. And Liley had the audacity to call me "unbelievable" in the previous bombshell video. And in this video, she calls demagogue and quisling Ron Schiller "incredibly brilliant."

Egypt Protests Raw Video January 28, 2011
Mubarak has been a US ally for decades. We send three billion dollars a year to Egypt. And Egypt made a peace deal with Israel. But knowing Obama, he will throw another ally under the bus. Yes, Mubarak needs to institute democratic reform. I pray Mubarak doesn't brutally respond to the uprising like Iran did -- they slaughtered their people and crushed the Iranian revolution.
I am all for political freedom. Will jihad permit any kind of reform?

The Source of Arab Backwardness Part2

Egypt's Prison of Hate
BY BRET STEPHENS, WSJ
Following the New Year's Eve massacre of a score of Coptic Christian worshipers outside a church in Alexandria, Egyptians are wasting no time fingering the likely culprit.
"With careful consideration," observes commentator Ammar Ali Hassan in the independent daily Al-Masry Al-Youm, "the incident could lead to other interpretations, especially the application of the Zionist conspiracy against national unity in Egypt."
Going one better, Essam El-Irian, a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood, says that while he believes "the Israeli Mossad was behind the incident," he won't rule out the possibility that al Qaeda itself may now be under Israeli operational ...

Imam Rauf Associates with Nuclear Maniacs

Ground Zero mosque Imam highly regards a defender of Hitler and Nuclear terror.
“Spiritual Leader" Of the Muslim Brotherhood Defends Hitler and Nuclear Terror
Moderate" Qaradawi Defends Hitler and Nuclear Terror
IPT News
November 9, 2010
During the past month, Imam Yusuf al-Qaradawi, spiritual guide to the Muslim Brotherhood, has called on Muslims to acquire nuclear weapons "to terrorize their enemies." He also boycotted an interfaith meeting with Jews on grounds he believes they support murdering Muslims in Palestine, and he additionally said Muslims are permitted to kill Israeli women because they serve in the army.
This continues Qaradawi's long-established support of violent jihad. But despite this record, he has been embraced as a "moderate" Muslim by his defenders in the West and the Arab world. In a September interview, former London Mayor Ken Livingstone said "the fact that Sheikh Qaradawi has been banned [from Britain] is a disgrace; he is one of the leading progressive voices in the Muslim world." Livingstone blamed "a huge smear campaign organized by Zionists."
In America, John Esposito, a religious scholar who is close to the Brotherhood, has called Qaradawi a supporter of a "reformist interpretation of Islam and its relationship to democracy, pluralism and human rights." The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and prominent Islamists like Tariq Ramadan, grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan al-Banna, have expressed similar sentiments about Qaradawi.
Barrie Osborne, producer of Hollywood blockbusters like The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix, has hired Qaradawi as a consultant for a movie about the Prophet Mohammed. Last month, Qaradawi was given a medal for public service by King Abdullah of Jordan.
Qaradawi has won these awards despite a long record of anti-Semitism and advocating violence against purported enemies of islam. Consider the following examples:
* In an interview last month with Al-Jazeera's Arabic-language service, Qaradawi was asked if Muslims should try to get atomic weapons "to terrorize their enemies." Qaradawi replied that this goal would be permissible, saying he was "happy" to learn that Pakistan had such a nuclear weapon to defend itself. Qaradawi explained that that was the meaning of Koranic verses urging Muslims "to terrorize thereby the enemy of God and your enemy."
Support for Iran and Muslim rights to possess nuclear technology have been recurring themes for Qaradawi.
"It is obligatory on all Muslims to resist any possible attack the US might launch against Iran," Qaradawi said in a 2007 interview. "The U.S. is an enemy of Islam that has already declared war on Islam under the disguise of war on terrorism and provides Israel with unlimited support."
It was wrong to deny Iran the right to ostensibly peaceful nuclear technology so long as the United States and Israel had nuclear weapons, he said.
* Last month, Qaradawi boycotted the 8th Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue conference in Qatar, saying he opposes discourse with Jews on principle.
"How can we conduct a dialogue in a time when they seize lands, shed blood, burn farms, and demolish houses? Palestine's conundrum has to be resolved first before we sit together at the same table," he said.
A source close to Qaradawi told the Egyptian newspaper al-Masry al-Youm that the imam does not oppose talking to Jews because of their religious affiliation, noting that he has met with representatives of the anti-Zionist Neturai Karta, an organization seen here attending a Holocaust-denial conference staged by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The Neturai Karta are Jews who reject the principles of Zionism and the occupation of Muslim lands, although "the majority of Jews at present are with the actions of murder in Palestine," the source said in explaining Qaradawi's willingness to talk to the group.
* In a recorded address last month to a Hamas-organized parley in Gaza, Qaradawi said Palestinians must continue violence against Israel.

US Media Doesn't Show the Counter-Islam Debate
CNBC: "Is there anything to the allegation that the organization has terrorist links?'
CAIR: "There is absolutely no truth to that. This really isn't about the organization certifying it. It's about the conservative blogger who is against this trying to find any excuse to stop anything Muslim in this country."
The anchor accepts that claim coming from another Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas-linked front. You can't make this stuff up. Did anyone look at the evidence that resulted in a 108-count indictment?
Hamas-linked CAIR rep continues:
This is a manufactured controversy. In this case Pamela Geller and her group are just taking this as an excuse, even a dietary accommodation they find to be threatening, they are trying to whip up fear about Muslim sin this country.
It gets worse. "Fear about being picked on or called a name......" How about fear of jihad, moron?
The completely uninformed anchor described the boycott as bigotry. This kind of feckless smear reporting should be drummed off the air. ISNA is a Muslim Brotherhood front (click the links at the bottom of this post). Why is the media carrying water for the most radical, intolerant ideology in the world?

Egypt Fed Christian Copts to Muslim Lions
I also note that Muhammad Salim al-Awwa, the scholar mentioned below whose interview on Al-Jazeera has been inciting so much hatred against Egyptian Christians, was one of the signatories to the Common Word letter from Muslim scholars to the Christians of the world. (Among other things, the Common Word letter claimed that Islam endorses the Biblical principle of loving for one's neighbour.)"
Egypt Cuts a Deal: Christians Fed to Muslim 'Lions' Raymond Ibrahim, Hudson New York
For centuries, the Copts — Egypt's Christian, indigenous inhabitants — have been subject to persecution, discrimination, humiliation, and over all subjugation in their homeland (etymologically, "Copt" simply means "Egyptian"). In the medieval era, such treatment was a standard aspect of sharia's dhimmi codes, first ratified under Caliph Omar in the 7th century and based on Koran 9:29. Conversely, during the colonial era and into the mid 20th century, as Egypt experimented with westernization and nationalism, religious discrimination was markedly subdued. Today, however, as Egypt all but spearheads the Islamist movement — giving the world Sayyid Qutb, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Aymen Zawahiri in the process — that is, as Egypt reverts to its medieval character, the Copts find themselves again in a period of severe persecution.
And there appears to be no one to stop it — not even those most accountable: America's friend and ally, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his government. Indeed, recent events indicate that the Mubarak regime is intentionally inciting Egypt's Muslims against the Copts.
Consider: on September 15, prominent Egyptian Muhammad Salim al-Awwa, ex-secretary general of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, appeared on Al Jazeera and, in a wild tirade, accused the Copts of "stocking arms and ammunitions in their churches and monasteries"— imported from Israel, no less, since "Israel is in the heart of the Coptic Cause" — and "preparing to wage war against Muslims."
He warned that if nothing is done, the "country will burn," urging Muslims to "counteract the strength of the [Coptic] Church." Al-Awwa further charged that Egypt's security forces cannot enter the monasteries to investigate for weapons — an amazing assertion, considering that Coptic monasteries are not only at the mercy of the state, but easy prey to Islamist/Bedouin attacks.
Needless to say, these remarks have inflamed Muslim passions (not to mention paranoia) against Egypt's Christians, who make approximately 12% of the population. To make matters worse, right on the heels of al-Awwa's "monastery-conspiracy-theory," Islamist leaders began to circulate baseless rumors that the Church and Pope Shenouda III "kidnap" Coptic women who willingly convert to Islam, and trap them in desert monasteries, "torturing" and "re-indoctrinating" them back to Christianity — even when the women in question publicly insist they never converted to Islam.
Due to all these allegations, since last month, there have been at least ten mass demonstrations in Egypt — most numbering in the thousands — condemning the Copts, the Coptic Church, and Pope Shenouda. The "Front of Islamic Egypt" issued a statement promising the Copts a "blood bath." Most recently, on October 8, Muslim demonstrators chanted "Shenouda, just wait, we will dig your grave with our own hands," while burning the 86 year-old pope's effigy.
At the very least, the usually intrusive Mubarak regime could have easily dispelled the absurd rumor that Coptic monks, among Egypt's most humble figures, were stockpiling weapons for an imaginary coup d'état in Egypt, by formally investigating and clearing the monasteries of the charge. Same with the ludicrous rumors that the Pope is kidnapping and torturing Coptic women who freely convert to Islam — an especially odd rumor considering the reverse is true: in Egypt, Christian women are regularly kidnapped and compelled to embrace Islam.
To further exasperate matters, on September 26, Al Azhar, a formal state body of Egypt, denounced a remark on Koran 5:17, which accuses Christians of being "infidels," made by a Coptic clergyman at an internal meeting on dogma, as "blasphemous." It further took this opportunity to state formally that citizenship rights in Egypt "are conditional to respect for the Islamic identity" of Egypt, thereby reversing any modern progress made regarding Egyptian equality and reinforcing the Copts' historical role as dhimmis (i.e., conditionally tolerated religious minorities). Pope Shenouda was further compelled to publicly apologize "if our Muslim brothers' feelings were hurt."
All this in a nation where Christian and Jewish scriptures are systematically denounced as fabricated. Indeed, mere weeks earlier, a well known publishing house in Egypt issued a book dedicated to "proving" that Christians had forged the Bible. Such double standards are well entrenched: after all, whereas the Coptic clergyman privately remarked on a Koranic verse, the Egyptian government openly interferes with Christian doctrine, while preventing Muslims from converting to Christianity, in accordance to sharia's ridda, or apostasy, laws. For example, Mohammad Hegazy is one of many Egyptians who tried formally to change his religion from Muslim to Christian on his I.D. card —in Egypt, people are Gestapo-like categorized by their religion — only to be denied by the Egyptian court. (Many other such anecdotes abound.)
Considering the citizenship rights Copts enjoyed in the early to mid 20th century, how did things come to this pass? Much of this can be traced to Mubarak's predecessor, Anwar Sadat, who altered Egypt's Constitution — by adding Article 2, "sharia is the principle source of legislation" — only to be rewarded, ironically, with assassination by the Islamist "Frankenstein monster" he had empowered. Since then, there has been a tacit agreement between the government and the Islamists. As Youssef Ibrahim puts it, the agreement "turned over to Islamists control in media, education, and government administrations in return for allowing Mr. Mubarak's rule to go on unchallenged, setting the stage … for his son, Gamal, to succeed him. As part of the deal, [Mubarak] agreed to feed Egypt's Christians to the growing Islamic beast."
Hence the dire situation the Copts find themselves in. Magdi Khalil, a human rights activist at the forefront of the "Coptic question," states that "Egypt is on the verge of chaos and change of regime and there is a plan for Copts to pay the price of this predicted chaos, by directing the surplus violence, hate and barbarism towards them." This redirection onto the Copts is obvious even in subtle things: aside from the habitual anti-Copt indoctrination that goes on in mosques — all of the aforementioned demonstrations occurred immediately after Friday's mosque prayers — Egypt's state run public education system also marginalizes, if not ostracizes, the Copts (see, for example, Adel Guindy's "The Talibanization of Education in Egypt").
More obvious proof of the government's complicity is the fact that, not only has it not prevented or dispersed the increasingly rabid demonstrations against the Copts — the way it viciously and unequivocally does whenever any protests are directed against itself — but Egyptian security, as Magdi Khalil affirmed in a phone conversation, actually facilitate, and sometimes participate, in these mass demonstrations. After all, Islamists who publicly call for the death of the Pope do so, writes Ibrahim Eissa, "knowing quite well that State Security will not touch them, since demonstrations are directed against the Pope and not the President, the Church and not the inheritance issue [Gamal Mubarak as successor of his father]. Those who go out in Jihad against 'inheritance,' democracy and election fraud are beaten mercilessly by security forces but those who go out to incite sectarian violence between Muslims and Christians believe …that they are the friends and 'buddies' of the police and the State Security."
As history teaches, whenever a majority group casts all its woes onto a minority group, great tragedy often follows. This is especially so when the majority group in question begins taking on an Islamist—that is, intolerant, violent, and medieval — character. Yet if Egypt's "secular" government and U.S. ally is willing to sacrifice the Coptic scapegoat to appease the ever-burgeoning Islamist monster it has been nurturing for some four decades, to whom can Egypt's Christians look for relief?

Keith Ellison Jihadist Congressman

Muslim Brotherhood-Linked Congressman Keith Ellison Smears Defenders of Freedom
Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, infamous for his pro-Hamas rallies (here) and his pilgrimage to the Hajj in Saudi Arabia, paid for by the Muslim Brotherhood (here), is attacking defenders of freedom and democracy.
Clearly, my work and that of Spencer is a threat to a stealth jihadist like Ellison, advocate of the sharia. So they do what they do best, pathologically lie.
Their morphing narrative is comic, Now it's how we make a living off the "anti-Islam" business. As if. We get sued. What living? There is no money in what we do, but the Brotherhood is on the receiving end of millions from their overlords in the Middle East and the leftist financiers like Soros. It's not a living, it's a calling.
Congressman Ellison (D-Muslim Brotherhood) takes on the "anti-Islam industry" Jihadwatch
A remarkably dishonest and self-pitying interview from the Muslim Brotherhood's favorite Congressman. "Rep. Keith Ellison Talks About Beating the Anti-Islam Industry,'" by Seth Freed Wessler in ColorLines, September 16 (thanks to all who sent this in):
[...] Commenting on the controversy surrounding the Park 51 Islamic cultural center in downtown Manhattan, NYC Mayor Bloomberg recently said, "This whole issue, I think, will go away right after the next election." Do you think that these attacks are going to go away after elections?
I do think it'll die down but I don't think it will go away.
Why Not?
Because the people who are struck by fear and who are creating a climate of fear with the thought of this Islamic center are not going away. Yes, it's going to have a tougher time catching the public mind and it is going to have a tougher time getting any news. But you have to understand that there are some people who make their living trying to say, "The Muslims are coming, the Muslims are coming." It's important to bear in mind that these folks are not going to stop and pack it in just because the elections are over. ... They are just going to find something else to make a big deal about.
I don't think it's completely separate from elections either. Certainly certain people like Rick Lazio will try to exploit the upsurge in anti-Islamic ideas to their political advantage. But I don't think it's rooted in the election cycle. I think it's rooted in the idea that there are urges in society from time to time based on a multitude of factors that make some people want to scapegoat others.
In the early 1960s, you had people scapegoating Catholics, saying we can't have Kennedy be the president because then the pope will running the country. Of course we have a long history of scapegoating Jews as well. And we have a long history of racial discrimination and scapegoating. We've seen conservatives and people who want to keep America for people who have traditionally benefited. We've seen these elements scapegoat. We remember Reagan talking about welfare queens. He scapegoated single moms who are poor and tried to say that America's problems are because of them. And then George Bush said, "Well no, the problems are not because of them, but because of black men like Willie Horton and liberals like Dukakis, who let these guys run around." And then we went from there to, "Well the problem is with the gays, they're the problem. They're trying to get married and they're causing the problem." And then it's because of the Latinos, they're taking our jobs.
There is always a scapegoat de jour when fearful people blame the problems of society on a distinct groups that usually does not have much political power. [...]
This is the same dishonest narrative we have seen recently from Nicholas Kristof and many others: that Muslims in America today are facing a resurgence of the nativism that earlier targeted Catholics and others. I wonder who is feeding all these people their talking points. But in any case, the comparison is entirely fallacious: Catholics, Jews, blacks, Hispanics, welfare queens -- all the groups Ellison names as previous "scapegoats" -- weren't carrying out terror attacks against Americans and others worldwide. They weren't justifying violence and hatred by reference to Catholic or Jewish teaching. The people who were worried about the pope running the country could point to no action by the pope to try to achieve such power. The Muslim Brotherhood, in contrast, is dedicated in its own words to "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within" so that Islam "is victorious over other religions."
The idea that non-Muslims are suspicious of Muslims out of bigotry, rather than out of a legitimate concern for both jihad terror and the utterly supine and often disingenuous response to it from peaceful and ostensibly moderate Muslims is nonsense of such an outstanding character that I wonder if Ellison himself even believes it, rather than simply seeing it as a useful line he can use to bamboozle the besotted Leftists to whom he is talking in ColorLines.
So why right now are Muslims being targeted? What is particular about this moment that Muslims are made the targets of scapegoating and fear?
Gee, ColorLines, I can't imagine. In the first place, there is no such scapegoating: hate crimes against Muslims are actually quite rare. But even if they weren't, do you really have to ask this question? Are you really unaware that when so many mass murderers and would-be mass murderers point to Islamic teaching as the motivation and justification for their actions (think of Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood jihadist; Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Christmas underwear jihadist; Faisal Shahzad, the Times Square jihadist; Khaled Sheikh Mohammed and Osama bin Laden on 9/11; the London jihad bombers of July 7, 2005; and so many, many others), that non-Muslims will continue to swallow the increasingly less convincing line that none of this violence has anything to do with Islam?
Of course, many will continue to do so, and they will continue to do so because of articles like this one, which claim victim status for Muslims and do their best to divert attention away from jihadist crimes. Ellison does mention a few of these jihad attacks farther down, but says nothing about the belief-system that motivated them, or what can and should be done within the Muslim community in the U.S. to help ensure that there will be no such attacks in the future -- that is, if that were on the Muslim community in America's to-do list.
Anyway, in response, the Congressman breaks out some half-baked Saidism:
One factor is that in Western thinking the Orient and people from the Orient are somehow foreign or different. Long before 9/11 occurred, you had a whole set of films where the villain is some Arab Muslim guy. Whether it's "True Lies" or it's "Back to the Future," whether it's Libyans who are blowing up something, whatever it is, it is deeply rooted stuff over the long term. What is Islam but the religion of the Orient? So there's that.
Remember The Sum of All Fears? The novel that featured jihadist villains, who became neo-Nazis in the film after Hamas-linked CAIR mau-maued the filmmakers? Has Ellison seen that one?
Then you have other things like 9/11 that make these things more pointed. Of course 9/11 was not the last thing. Like when Faizal Shahzad tried to blow up a bomb in Times Square or when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to blow up the flight from Amsterdam to Detroit or Nadal Hassan did what he did in Fort Hood. These things are incredibly damaging to the way that Americans feel about their Muslim and Middle Eastern neighbors.
No kidding, really? In any case, note that Ellison doesn't even come close to addressing the ideological wellsprings of such attacks.
The Muslim world is incredibly diverse. You have people who are Bosnian Muslims who are white as the moon and Liberian Muslims that are as black as the night. You have white Americans whose families have been here for generations and they have converted to Islam. One example is Hamza Yusuf who is a noted and brilliant scholar. So there is a broad diversity of Muslims. That's just the reality. You know, Islam is not all foreign. When I swore in on the Quran, I swore in on Thomas Jefferson's Quran....
Which he owned, of course, to study the beliefs of those who were menacing American ships in the Mediterranean.
In Park51 you have people who want to bring us back but there are more people who want to bring us forward. You can never suppress people who have reactionary, fearful ideas who want to divide people. But the people who stand up and do the right thing will prevail if they stick to it. It's like MLK said in the "Letter from a Birmingham Jail": "We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people." But in the case of Park51, the good people have spoken up.
Should Obama and other leaders have moved faster to speak up?
I think the president has done a good job. He has spoken out clearly and properly on this issue of the mosque and the issue in Gainesville Florida. I am proud of the president. That is one of the good sides of the story. When you have a leader standing up and saying we are not going to divide Americans based on religion. I don't have any complaints about what Obama, Gates, Petraeus or Nadler has said.
They could have ducked and covered but instead they have contributed to the marginalization of people who make their living on this stuff, like Pam Geller and Robert Spencer. ...
Note that we're not marginal enough for Ellison to refrain from mentioning us at all. He would certainly like to see us marginalized, since I have been the one calling attention to his ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. As I noted in December 2008, when it was first revealed that Ellison's Hajj was paid for with $13,350 from the Muslim American Society:
The Muslim Brotherhood "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions." -- "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America," by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991.
What does that have to do with Congressman Ellison? Everything. The Muslim American Society paid for his Hajj. And what is the Muslim American Society? The Muslim Brotherhood.
"In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation's major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members." -- Chicago Tribune, 2004.
Imagine if a conservative Congressman had taken a trip that had been paid for by a Christian group that was, according to one of its own documents, dedicated to "eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house" so that Christian law would replace the U.S. Constitution. I expect we would hear more of an outcry than we ever heard about Ellison's Brotherhood-funded hajj.
But I'm going to keep talking about it here. No wonder he wishes we were marginalized.

Jihad Convenes on Yom Kippur to do Dirty Work

Tens of thousands attend our historic FDI/SIOA rally last weekend against the Ground Zero mosque.
On Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for Jewish people, Islamic supremacists, again in complete disregard and disrespect for non-Muslims, are convening in New York City to conspire to build to Ground Zero mega mosque despite the overwhelming opposition by close to 70% of the American poeple.
The Muslim Brotherhood axis meeting this weekend, includes the Islamic Society of North America, the Islamic Circle of North America, the Muslim Alliance of North America and the Council on American Islamic Relations- all groups named (and entered into evidence) co-conspirators, Hamas linked, Muslim Brothehrood fronts in the largest Hamas terror funding trial in American history, the Holy Land trial.
Imam Rauf' book, What's Right with Islam was originally published in 2004 in Malaysia, under a different title: A Call to Prayer from the World Trade Center Rubble: Islamic Dawa in the Heart of America Post-9/11. What's Right with Islam was a “special, non-commercial edition” of the book and was produced after the original, with Feisal’s cooperation, by the Islamic Society of North America and the International Institute of Islamic Thought. Both of those organizations are American tentacles of the Muslim Brotherhood (more here at Discover the Networks.)
Ther AP never identifies the Muslim Brotherhood as such in its continuing deception and misrepresentation of the facts to the American people. This idea that these supremacists are meeting to discuss "anti-Muslim sentiment" is another big fat lie. There is no anit-Muslim sentiment. Rauf created this firestorm and this division with his 15 story Islamic surpemacist mosque on the hallowed ground of 911. It is the height of arrogance, insensitivity, and disrespect. And everybody knows it.
We can't protest on Yom Kippur but Muslim Brotherhood groups, take heed. We will be back.
Muslim summit planned over NYC Islamic center AP
NEW YORK — Some Muslims who were initially indifferent about a proposed Islamic center near the World Trade Center site are now rallying around the plan, partly in response to a sense that their faith is under assault.
A summit of U.S. Muslim organizations is planned for Saturday and Sunday in New York City to address both the project and a rise in anti-Muslim sentiments and rhetoric that has accompanied the debate over the project.
It has yet to be seen whether the group will emerge with a firm stand on the proposed community center, dubbed Park51. The primary purpose of the two-day meeting is to talk about ways to combat religious bigotry.
But Shaik Ubaid of the Islamic Leadership Council of Metropolitan New York, one of the groups organizing the gathering, said he has a growing sense that the project is being embraced by American Muslims and Muslim groups after some initial trepidation.
"Once it became a rallying cry for extremists, we had no choice but to stand with Feisal Rauf," he said, referring to the New York City imam who has been leading the drive for the center.
Groups scheduled to participate in the summit include the Islamic Society of North America, the Islamic Circle of North America, the Muslim Alliance of North America and the Council on American Islamic Relations.

Rauf is Mainstreaming Shar'ia

"90% of Sharia law is fully compatible -- not only compatible -- it's consistent or compatible with American constitutional law and American laws. The areas of difference are small and minor." Imam Rauf (more supremacist rhetoric here and here) hat tip Kamala
The objective of the stealth jihadists and the Muslim Brotherhood proxies in the US (CAIR, ISNA, ICNA, MAS, MSA, et al) is to impose Islam and sharia on the US, and so it is with Ground Zero Mosque Imam Rauf.
Rauf is mainstreaming the sharia and the jihad ideology. In suggesting that those of us defending American freedom are the "extremists" and placing us squarely on the same moral playing field as the Muslim terrorists who flew planes into buildings and have since committed close to 20,000 Islamic attacks of violent jihad across the world, this subversive Imam (and media darling) shows just how deeply we have been infiltrated by the enemy.
Make no mistake, Rauf did this. Rauf created this maelstrom. Rauf created this divisiveness. Rauf created this fight and he is loving every minute of it. It's all Islam, all the time. He could have done the decent thing months ago and shown some modicum of human compassion. He is incapable of that and everybody knows it.

Lionizing the Jackals
We have reached the point where Islamic supremacists and Muslim Brotherhood proxies are virtually dictating their propaganda and fallacious narrative to big media and scribes, who take it down word for word, lie for lie, and report it as fact. Unindicted co-conspirator, Hamas-linked, Muslim Brotherhood front CAIR is the go-to guy for all things Islam. Never are they identified for the subversives that they are. Never are their jihadist connections or convicted leadership mentioned. Just as Anwar Awlaki was the go-to imam for big media right after 911 (Awlaki was imam to a couple of the 911 Muslim terrorists, as well as the Fort Hood jihadi, the Christmas day bomber, the Times Square bomber, et al). These willing dupes lather, rinse, repeat. They hit bottom and just keep digging. They still don't get it. In the information battle space, it's a game, and they are being so played. But could the stakes be higher?

Muslim Brotherhood Infiltrates USA
For decades the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated every agency and institution at the highest levels (i.e. MAS, CAIR, ISNA, ICNA), and they control the narrative and what can be said and how it can be said.
Islamic American University (hat tip Ilya)
The Islamic American University is an institution for education, training, Da'wa and studies in the fields of Islamic Shari'a, its fundamentals, linguistics, and sciences. The Islamic American University is a subsidiary of the Muslim American Society (MAS); it is one of MAS main projects.
The sharia (brutal Islamic law) and da'wa (conversion of non-Muslims to Islam)
IAU aims at grooming distinguished scholars, activists, leaders, and teachers who are well-rounded in Islam as well as in the different facets of American life. The IAU board of trustees is headed by internationally renowned scholars such as Sheikh Yusuf al-Qardawi who serves as chairman and Dr. Jamal Badawi who serves as vice chairman. Its academic programs were prepared with participation of a great number of renowned Islamic scholars and experts in Da'wa and education. In addition to courses and degrees, the IAU offers workshops and seminars to Muslim communities covering various areas of Da'wa and Islamic studies.
Who is Sheikh Yusuf al-Qardawi? Read more at Atlas here and Discover the Networks here:
Qaradawi was born in Egypt in 1926 and, following the early death of his father, was raised by his uncle. He memorized the Qur'an in its entirety by age nine, and was particularly drawn to the brand of extremist, anti-Western Islam advanced by Hasan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. Qaradawi went on to attend the Al-Azhar Theological Seminary in Cairo before moving to Qatar.
Qaradawi has frequently justified Palestinian suicide bombings as legitimate responses to alleged “Zionist” aggression and occupation. In 2004 he told BBC television, "Allah Almighty is just; through his infinite wisdom he has given the weak a weapon the strong do not have, and that is their ability to turn their bodies into bombs as Palestinians do." During a press conference around the same time, he added that suicide bombings are "weapons to which the weak resort in order to upset the balance because the powerful have all the weapons that the weak are denied." He has further asserted that suicide bombings "are not in any way included in the framework of prohibited terrorism, even if the victims include some civilians." This, he explains, is because Israel is "a society of invaders" whose "nature" is "colonialist, occupational, [and] racist."
Qaradawi is active in the Muslim Brotherhood, which Islam expert Robert Spencer has called "the parent organization of Hamas and al Qaeda." At various times in his life, Qaradawi has reportedly turned down opportunities to serve as the Brotherhood’s leader. His preference, he explains, is to avoid tying himself to "any movement which might constrain my actions, even if this is the Muslim Brotherhood under whose umbrella I grew and which I so defended."
Qaradawi served as Dean of the Islamic Department at the Faculties of Shariah and Education in Qatar, and as a Chairman of the Islamic Scientific Councils of Algerian Universities and Institutions. He was also a faculty member at the Michigan-based Islamic American University (IAU), a subsidiary of the Muslim American Society. Until at least June 2003 he was Chairman (in abstentia) of the IAU Board of Trustees.
In 2003 Qaradawi issued a fatwa against the Japanese video and trading-card game “Pokemon,” which he believed advanced Jewish doctrines. According to Qaradawi, the gibberish uttered by the animated characters meant "Become a Jew.”
In April 2004 Qaradawi issued a fatwa declaring a Muslim boycott of American- and Israeli-made products. “To buy their goods is to support tyranny, oppression and aggression,” he wrote. “Buying goods from them will strengthen them; our duty is to make them as weak as we can.”
That same year, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Qaradawi expressed support for the anti-U.S. insurgency in Iraq, endorsing the kidnapping and murder of American civilians there. Announcing a fatwa at the Egyptian Journalists' Union convention in Cairo, he stated: "All of the Americans in Iraq are combatants, there is no difference between civilians and soldiers, and one should fight them, since the American civilians came to Iraq in order to serve the occupation. The abduction and killing of Americans in Iraq is a [religious] obligation so as to cause them to leave Iraq immediately." Qaradawi later denied making the statement, but continued to claim that "fighting the American invaders is a must endorsed by heavenly religions and international agreements."
During the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war, Qaradawi voiced support for the terrorist group Hezbollah. Contradicting the opinion of Muslim scholar Abdullah ibn Jibreen, who had said that Muslims were prohibited from supporting Hezbollah because its members are Shia, Qaradawi declared that Muslims were obliged to support Hezbollah because "Shias agree with the Sunnis in the main principles of Islam while the differences are only over the branches."
In the summer 2007 Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) trial (which looked into evidence of HLF's fundraising on behalf of Hamas), the U.S. government released a list of approximately 300 of HLF's "unindicted co-conspirators" and "joint venturers." Among the unindicted co-conspirators were many individuals affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and/or Hamas, including Qaradawi, Omar Ahmad, Abdurahman Alamoudi, Abdallah Azzam, Jamal Badawi, Mohammad Jaghlit, Mousa Abu Marzook, Abdel Aziz Rantisi, and Ahmed Yassin. The organizations named on the list were the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Hamas, INFOCOM, the Islamic Association for Palestine, the Islamic Society of North America, the Muslim Arab Youth Association, the United Association for Studies and Research, and the North American Islamic Trust.
Qaradawi has authored more than 40 books, including The Lawful and Prohibited in Islam (1960) and Islamic Awakening between Rejection and Extremism (1990). He also hosts a weekly television program called "Shariah and Life" on the Arabic television station and satellite network Al Jazeera. During one particular April 2004 telecast, he praised Allah for providing Palestinians with the means to transform themselves into "human bombs.”
Due to his support for Palestinian terrorism, Qaradawi has been barred from entering the United States since 1999. In February 2008, the United Kingdom also denied his visa on grounds that "[t]he UK will not tolerate the presence of those who seek to justify any act of terrorist violence...”

Muslim Organizations All Mobbed Up - McCarthy
In my column this morning, I wrote that the International Institute of Islamic Thought had been " >cited by the Justice Department as unindicted co-conspirators in a crucial terrorism-financing case" — the Holy Land Foundation prosecution. It would have been more accurate to say that the IIIT had been demonstrated by the Justice Department to be an unindicted coconspirator.
The legal test of whether one is a coconspirator hinges on the evidence presented in a case, not merely on a Justice Department designation. That is no doubt why prominent
members of Congress and some press reporting have identified the IIIT as an as an unindicted coconspirator in the HLF case. IIIT is not specifically named in the Justice Department’s coconspirator list filed pretrial in that prosecution. Nevertheless, it is a frequent occurrence that conspirators not identified by DOJ on coconspirator lists provided pretrial emerge as such during the trial, as the government’s case is proved. There is, furthermore, abundant evidence tying IIIT to the Muslim Brotherhood and its agenda.
To begin with, the Brotherhood is prominently cited in DOJ’s coconspirator list for the HLF case. More significantly, central to the HLF prosecution was the Brotherhood’s 1991 internal memorandum, discussed in my column. The IIIT is expressly identified by the Muslim Brotherhood in that memorandum as being among “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.” In addition, IIIT board members Jamal Barzinji and Yaqub Mirza have been identified in an FBI investigation as leading members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Barzinji is also listed as secretary-general of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). As noted in my column, ISNA is specifically cited as coconspirator by the Justice Department. Moreover, Sayyid Syeed, a founder of IIIT, was also a founder of the ISNA. Syeed has also served on the board of advisers of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR), which is also cited in the Justice Department's HLF coconspirator list.
IIIT board member Barzinji was also a co-founder of the Muslim Students Association that was later merged into ISNA. Abdel Rahman Alamoudi is a close associate of Barzinji’s. As the Hudson Institute’s Zeyno Baran has recounted, when IIIT convinced the U.S. government to allow IIIT to be “the official arbiters of Islam in the U.S. military,” Alamoudi was tasked to select Muslim chaplains for American armed forces. Alamoudi, who has been probed in the Justice Department’s investigations of the IIIT and Sami al-Arian, was later convicted for illegal transactions with the Libyan government and assisting in a plot to assassinate then-Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.
Finally, as detailed in my column, the IIIT was a major contributor to al-Arian, a former Muslim Brotherhood member who was later convicted of terrorism charges arising out of his association with Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). PIJ has long been formally designated as a foreign terrorist organization under U.S. law. IIIT cofounder and president, Shaykh Taha Jabir al-Awani, was cited by the Justice Department as unindicted coconspirator number 5 in the al-Arian case.

MAS Muslims Give Staten Island the Middle Finger

Today at a protest on the steps of Borough Hall in Staten Island, 30 to 40 people (unlike the hundreds that showed in opposition in the pouring rain two weeks ago), members of the Muslim American Society, aka The Muslim Brotherhood, conducted a press conference. Most of the attendees were from Brooklyn, according to an Atlas operative who was there.
The only news media that appeared to be covering this non event was The Advance. I expect the media will add a zero to the 40 Muslims who showed up, as the media loves to inflate the numbers when shilling for jihad.
MAS announced that they have no intention of walking away from the convent sale.
In a gross act of un-Christian abandonment, there has been no decision from the Archbishop. No vote has been taken (which has left the people of Staten Island nothing short of ......perplexed, to say the least).
The good people of Staten Island thought that the MAS would willingly walk away from such an unpopular project in the interest of "building bridges," "mutual understanding," and "mutual respect." Ha!
They aren’t going anywhere. Anyone with even a cursory understanding of Islam or knowledge of Islamic history knows that this has never happened in the history of Islam. "Walking away" is not in their vocabulary. "Building bridges," "mutual understanding," and "mutual respect" are one-way streets in Islam. Just ask Imam Rauf.
Rauf, Imam of the much opposed Ground Zero mega mosque, said he didn't understand the hostility of the opposition to the monster mosque, especially since our "children and our grandchildren would be Muslim." One man's "mutual respect and mutual understanding" is another Muslim's Islamic supremacism.
Muslims gather for mosque rally at Borough Hall Staten Island Advance
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Dozens of Muslims and their supporters have assembled on the steps of Borough Hall in St. George to rally in favor of a proposal to build a mosque in Midland Beach.
Approximately 50 demonstrators had gathered by 11:45 a.m., carrying signs reading "No Hate, Yes Faith," "Where are my Rights?" "This is my Country" and "Peace Love and Equality."
The rally is being organized by the Muslim American Society (MAS).
There has been fierce debate across the borough about whether MAS should convert an empty former convent, owned by St. Margaret Mary R.C. Church in Midland Beach, into a mosque and community center.
Residents learned about the agreement between the church and MAS in May, but were furious the contract was drafted quietly and without their input. They expressed concerns about traffic and parking in the neighborhood, and contended that bringing a mosque to the area would display insensitivity toward area residents who were killed on 9/11.
In June, the church's pastor, Rev. Keith Fennessy, withdrew his support of the plan in the face of the opposition.

Some Fast Facts about CAIR
* Several officials convicted of terror offenses — notably Ghassan Elashi, founder of CAIR’s Texas chapter, who was involved in the Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding case, and Randall Ismail Royer, CAIR’s former national communications director, who was one of the Virginia paintball jihadists training to fight in Afghanistan against us forces. There have been others.
* CAIR officials have repeatedly and consistently refused to condemn Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.
* CAIR has opposed virtually every antiterror measure introduced since 9/11. It was involved in the flying imams case when the imams attempted to sue the passengers who reported them — an attempt which, if successful, would have intimidated people and made them afraid to report suspicious behavior by Muslims for fear of getting sued.
* CAIR’s cofounder and director, Nihad Awad, has declared his support for Hamas. Before CAIR he and the other cofounder, Omar Ahmad, were with the Islamic Association for Palestine, which has since been closed down as a Hamas front. CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation jihad charity case, which involved funding for Hamas.
* Omar Ahmad and CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper have both made Islamic supremacist statements about how they want to see the U.S. ruled by Islamic law, which denies free speech, the freedom of conscience, and equality of rights for women and non-Muslims.
Why did Erik Schelzig deem all this unfit to print? Why instead did he give a hearing to a deliberate smear on SOIC?
